I informed them of this and asked what would happen regarding my membership. It was told to me this wasn't uncommon, it would be ok to pause the membership and to speak with the owner. My last class was the week of Christmas and the owner wasn't there. When I returned to class and spoke with the owner she said she couldn't allow people to stop coming to class, start back up when they felt like it, and expecting to still have their membership. Throughout the conversation I explained to her several times that I didn't just stop coming, I had surgery and couldn't attend. By this time other people were there and able to hear the conversation. Because of this, I suggested we discuss it further after class. She then said I should have informed them that I would be having surgery and the best she could do was to give me 7 days. I explained to her that I had informed them ahead of time and was told it wouldn't be an issue pausing membership until I was able return. It was at that time that she said she needed to start class. It was an embarrassing experience and very unprofessional. I found a place closer to home less expensive for the amount of classes, and more welcoming.

It's great to be able to take a large variety of "specialized" fitness classes like pilates, barre, and HIIT and circuit training at a location that doesn't lock you into a pricey membership and lets you pay per class or via packages as you go! I've been so much more motivated to work out since I've started attending class here, and the special fitness challenge events, workshop classes, and meal prep events have helped me a lot outside the gym too.

I went on a walk with my husband yesterday and he asked me, "Why I feel so much better this year do you think it is all the exercise?" 100 percent yes! I have gone off Humira which is a biologic drug used for my type of arthritis. I am not saying to go off medication without a doctor, my doctor and I talked about it and said if I didn't get any worse she is okay with my not taking a biologic drug. I also don't take prescription NSAIDs anymore and I didn't go from that to something like Tylenol or Motrin. I take no pain medicine anymore. Last year I was taking prescription pain meds every day twice a day. I also feel much more confident. I love that the trainers are so knowledgeable. I have gone to physical therapy several times. No one works you as hard as they do at Pryde. I have used a couple of other personal trainers. They were good and one just doesn't have time right now, but I highly satisfied at Pryde. Most of them have a degree in Sports Medicine or Exercise Science or are in the process of getting that degree. I also have lost weight and I think I am gaining muscle. I am more toned. I am extremely happy.

Prior to Workout Wednesday, I was on a search to find a reformer class so I decided to sign up for the intro package. The intro package is the way to go! If you have done Pilates before, this is still the way to go. I tried a private class, multiple semi-private classes, and multiple group classes. The equipment is awesome! They have reformers, towers, and more! Game changer. The classes are small. At Club Pilates I was in a class of 10 versus 4 - 2 people. You get personalized attention to correct your form. I tried so many classes and different instructors to see what I like and who I like. Really.... I love all of it! From the group tower classes to the personalized attention I get in the semi-privates, I decided this was the studio for me. The are a handful of options when it comes to classes per month. There is a monthly option that comes with X classes depending on the level you sign up for. You can also purchase classes in a 10 pack. This applies to semi-private and group classes. That's what I went with since there is more flexibility. The 10 packs expire in 1 year. I'll be using them up a lot sooner and it gives you a discounted price compared to the drop in rate.

The work-outs have been challenging and enjoyable, and the space is well-equipped. There are people from all walks of life who attend this Crossfit gym, and for me, this symbolizes the incredible and supportive community that the owners have fostered. My stepdad is a regular member and just RAVES about both the people and the product at Crossfit Frostbite.
