It is geared both toward the free weight crowd and the weight machine crowd, has a nice quantity of cardio equipment (currently not all in use because of Covid), and includes an outdoor fitness area with ropes and strongman equipment. Currently, social distancing signs are posted and sanitizer is available throughout. The husband/wife team who own the gym are knowledgeable and friendly and I believe compete in the powerlifting arena. Personal trainers are available (for a fee of course). Pre-Covid there were aerobics classes; I don't know if those are currently in session. The gym is part of the network of gyms generally covered by insurance plans that include fitness memberships. I believe there is the option for paying a small fee to visit. The gym is open to all members Monday through Friday, but accessible to members who pay a little extra for 24/7 access (via key card). I have that membership and going on Saturday or Sunday is like having your own private gym complete with squat racks and deadlift platforms. Amazing! Like Davy Crockett, William B Travis, James Fannin, Juan Seguin and James Bonham just to name several. This place is situated in the middle of Crockett. Very country and what's it to like? Rolling hills, beautiful trees, major green belt areas and a lake. They have cool activities for the kids like riflery, archery, horse back riding, arts & crafts, swimming in the lake and much much more. It required the purchase of a range membership, and memberships are sold through Buffalo Sporting Goods. The Shop: well stocked, clean, professional, with a nice assortment of classic blued steel and wood stocked firearms; and modern black Cerakote and polymer catering to modern shooters (of which I'm not). This is a small town gun / fishing store like I remember from my youth - not some impersonal big box nationwide "all sports" outfitter selling everything under the sun with kids kicking around a soccer ball at the gun counter while dad is showcase shopping. But not here - I felt right at home, thanks to the owner Archie Van Wey. Good old fashioned personal service, and an appreciation for conversation & banter. After a pleasant conversation getting to know one another; I purchased a membership. I then drove a quick 10 minutes over to the range. The Range: well appointed, maintained, clean, with covered accommodations for 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard. Nice concrete ambidextrous shooting tables which mean a great deal to this port-sider / southpaw! No steel targets and no shotgun. (I have to find an equally enjoyable trap range.) Restrooms available via door code, convenient parking adjacent to shooting line makes for convenient transfer of firearms from car to bench. Parking is decently shaded (a must in Texas!) Range is easy to get to and close to I-45 and Buffalo, TX which offers a nice selection of food, fuel and shopping when one is finished. I've been to some real sketchy locations where "anything goes", including careless firearms handling, Tannerite in microwaves - where tree stumps are seats at wood cable spools that are repurposed as shooting tables. This is *not the case here*. Quite simply, if I don't feel at ease, I don't return. Well, I can safely say again, that is not the case here. I felt comfortable and I am looking forward to visiting regularly. With great appreciation and utmost thanks to Archie & BSG, and the folks that help maintain this location.

When I pulled in to the station I noticed smoke coming from my RV!! It was on fire!!! Me and the Jewett fire department was able to get it put out but I was not able to stay in it and had to rent a room. I was in town for a benefit and my time was limited. Larry took care of me like no one else would. He let me park my trailer at the campground at no charge but that's not all. I was busy with the benefit all weekend while knowing that Sunday I was going to have to deal with fixing my RV enough that I could pull it home. I arrived back at the campground early Sunday morning to find my RV completely sealed up and ready to go. It was as if an angel had come and saved the day! Larry did this for me because, as he said "I just like to help people when I can and I knew you needed help". This sort of kindness is rare these days and I could not be more grateful. If you ever have a chance to stay at Kozy Lakes please do! You won't find a better place to stay.

We had the most magical country vacation here!…read more we rented the 3 bedroom ranch house. Sue was such a pleasure to do business with! She made booking very easy and I was able to bring my dog to stay at the ranch with us. The Ranch house is big and roomy and comes with a full kitchen and fridge. There is also a cowboy pool Included. The ranch is as picturesque as you can imagine where the animals roam free (except the kangaroos) you can rent a golf cart (highly recommended) and explore all 50+ acres of land and animals . There are plenty activities to keep your kids entertained, we stayed Sunday through Friday and had stuff to do the entire time. Ethan, the ranch Cowboy, took us horse riding, skeet shooting, and drove us on the wagon to feed the animals in the morning. He is such a sweet and knowledgeable guy, such as asset to the ranch! Crystal was also as sweet as pie, anything we needed she was there with a happy smile making sure we were taken care of! Cannot say enough great things about this place! Highly recommend , and the kids already want to be back!
