During this time, I was distraught. I felt the need to find a church close to Seton where I could pray, have someone minister to me in my time of need, and wanted to find a pastor to pray over my dad. Having left the Catholic church, I knew this may not be easy, but I prayed about it and the Lord led me to Grace Covenant Church where my kids and I were greeted by a nice man by the name of Percy Sunday, November 9. He was so welcoming. The congregation was friendly. There was a man sitting by us, he said his name was Art which is my dad's name. Not a coincidence. I knew this was a sign from the Lord that we were at the right place at the right time. The Lord wanted to let me know that He was with me which was amazing! After mass, I met with Pastor B. He was so kind, empathetic to my situation. I got pretty emotional. He was very supportive. He was kind enough to come by the hospital the next day to pray over my dad on such short notice. My dad passed away a couple hours after on November 10. I'm just so grateful that Paster B was there. He didn't know me nor was I an active member in his congregation, but he showed up which says a lot. Despite my grief, the Lord has given me peace that surpasses all understanding. I highly recommend this beautiful church and grateful to the Lord for leading me to find it. Although I am not in the area, I know I will visit again. Thank you Grace Covenant Church and Paster B. May the Lord continue to bless your ministry, the church, and congregation.

When I was a child, why do certain places look so much bigger?…read more Now coming back here, I see that it is small (growing up, it seemed like we went to at least five or six churches in the city and in SF, too). The parking lot, which has to be opened up, during operation, has a very narrow entrance (we rented an SUV) and it is very tight in there, when there are a lot of people attending mass, or showing up for a service. When we left Cypress in Colma, on saturday morning (11/18/23), for the FUNERAL procession, we went here, where the mass was being held. The main priest knew my uncle (and aunt, for years, he knew them, so there was a personal friendship) so he kept breaking down (a lot of pausing) and crying. I think that the singer was asking him if he wanted her to sing. But he was able to go through with it. It was funny, because I don't know if other people noticed, but the priest was also using Tagalog (***I know it, I'm not fluent, but I like to say I speak "Taglish"***). I knew some of the songs, btw. The singer's style was a bit like Opera and a bit like Broadway/Jazz, if that makes any sense- it was very nice (a pretty voice). You can see she felt the music deeply, especially looking at her facial expressions. The organist was very good. Only two people in the music department. (I remember a full musical department, but maybe that is for regular sunday mass, and maybe it was another area church too.) There was another priest during the service. It was a beautiful service (I made sure to pack enough tissues this time). A couple of readings were done by some of the grandchildren. THANK YOU/ Salamat. My family appreciates this very much during this difficult time.

New North does all of those and more. We are both in different group Bible study- there are several types and times to choose from. I've learned so much from the leaders and other group members. I appreciate the women in Women's Bible Study- knowledgeable, curious, interesting, with many experiences to share. I feel a "community" in our groups and am encouraged to ask questions and learn more. The women in my group help and support each other, study and ask questions and we talk about issues too. Really helpful to me. The Hub is a gathering point outside the church after service, snacks and conversations. The messages are interesting, current references, scripture examples, Bible-based. Check it out, it's a friendly community.
