I was going to 8am mass in the morning when my Protestant friend suggested that I go to Saturday evening mass at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church down the road. My friend said that Protestants only have one Sunday service to go to, so she was stuck... LOL! I borrowed my friend's car and drove because I didn't want to walk for 20 minutes in 46°F weather. The exterior and interior of the church are beautiful! The singer played piano and was excellent! Father Michael Lee was efficient and informative. He even told a St. Patrick's Day joke: Jesus was Irish because: he lived at home until he was 30; his buddies drank with him; and his mom thought he was God... hahaha! Mass observations: For communion, the back of the church goes up first. There were two lines. The baskets are passed across the pews during offertory... and passed backwards in the sections. There were four altar servers - some were female! Father invited everyone to the Fatima/Spain Pilgrimage from October 17 to 26, 2025!

As you can see in the photo the church is very open, spacious, wide and not to mention very well maintained and clean. They have this huge floor-to-ceiling windows with the skies and trees as the background. It was very pleasing and relaxing to look at and it help give the Church an even more solemn feel. The service was beautiful that day too. I didnt know the name of the person who sang during the funeral mass but he had such a beautiful voice. And thats really an understatement. If you had known or heard him sing, you would have been in awe! Wish I had taken a short video clip.

She gave money weekly and went to Sunday services religiously. She stopped going 8 years ago because she went into a nursing home. Not once did they reach out to her family to check on her. Not ONCE. Shame on them. They continued to ask for money via mail. Now would you think that if someone gave money weekly and now doesn't- would that send up a red flag that something was wrong.??? Not with these folks. Nothing, zero, nada. Money money money. Well, she passed away Easter morning. Shame- shame on you... makes me sick to my stomach. I am also deeply sorry for your experience with OLC, but because I know the Church, and its pastor, I find it important to share a thought or two. The money envelopes come directly from the administrative office and its computerized system - as with most churches these days. A church finds it necessary to be supported financially in order that it may support and be there for people. Had the financial office been aware, any and all requests in any form would have ceased. Had the pastor been aware of your mother's circumstance, he would absolutely have been there for her and for you and your family. This I know, for I am well aware of his profound gratitude for the long-standing parishioners who have kept OLC alive - as have I heard him speak from his heart at the too-many of their funerals as time goes by. He is, like all of us, not a perfect man, but he is both a true man of God and a good man; a good priest. I do not know the circumstance of your Mom, but I believe completely that if you reach out to the parish office and share even any of your experience, you will be reached out to by the pastor. Please don't let this go or continue to hurt over it - which you absolutely and understandably do. Please call - prove me right, since I don't believe I can be proven wrong here. It is the only Christian radio show I will bother to listen to any more. I also will not watch Christian TV. Most of Christian media is to fool the naive and or to make money. Most of it is just spiritual insanity. Not Loving Grace Ministries. The focus is on God alone and not on political issues or causes or trends. If you really listen to the majority of TV and radio preachers they are all about a cause or politics or some other mixture, Mixing faith and politics is not biblical at all. But people do not seem to notice (Other radio shows) they just listen and give their money blindly. But this radio show is different. There are no smoke and mirrors, just God and the freedom he offers. This radio shows name is Let's Talk About Jesus. The minister in charge is Wayne Monbleau. He has been through so much suffering and as a result has compassion for those who are suffering. There is no judgment, no condemnation, no mind games ,no religiosity no nonsense. Besides the radio show Wayne has written books and has seminars for his listeners. I will include a picture of me and my husband at one of his seminars. He is probably the most loving nonjudgmental, insightful balanced preacher around especially in the Tri State area. . As an example , he is the first minister I have heard say that tithing is not in the New Testament and that churches use it to make money and try to control people. Tithing is an old Testament practice of giving 10 percent of your income to God's work. Wayne pulls the curtain off of so many of today's phony "Christian" practices. Plus I really like his take on Politics. It is that he doesn't have a take on Politics. He quotes a hymn "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness." That there is no Christian political party and that Jesus did not take part in Politics. Jesus himself said Luke 20:25-"Caesar's," they replied. He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." That trying to force the nation to become Christians by changing the Government is not biblical and is misguided. Personally, when I reveal to people that I am a Christian I feel I have to make all of these disclaimers I am a Christian but I am not a right wing maniac, I don't believe this or that. Much of what passes as Christianity these days is just cultural stuff that has nothing to do with God. Wayne simplifies faith in Christ down to just that, faith in Christ. Until I listened to him I didn't realize how many beliefs I just bought into as correct until he exposed them as phony and untrue. He teaches you to think for yourself. People learn to tell phony money but seeing the real thing. With Wayne you will learn to distinguish phony from true simply by hearing the real thing and he is the real thing. Though I have listened on and off for years I started listening regularly since 2002 and I can tell you it has transformed my life. His take on scripture is refreshing.
