In Beaufort for ~ 2 months for winter so went for medical exam at Open Water Medical to extend BP prescription. Did blood test for which they charged me $100 plus charges to Medicare but provided ONLY 1 refill. Phoned office 4X over 2 week period to try to get additional refills but did not get one single call back n. Finally, on 4th call, they finally said doctor Willis refused any more refills. Have lived aboard over 2 years now n dealt w multiple doctors who had no issues providing me extended - usually for a year - prescription refills but this office would not give me any additional refills.

My significant other went to a doctor visit today to get a refill on his tinea versicolor medicine…read more Tinea versicolor is not contagious. It simply causes his skin to have small spots of discoloration that's completely treatable with a specific body wash that ridiculously enough you have to have a prescription to obtain. He comes home visibly upset from this visit. Apparently the doctor told him she didn't wanna shake his hand because the nurse had informed her that he "had a skin condition." No one seemed to know what tinea versicolor was and even though he told them it wasn't contagious he was made to feel diseased. He said she checked his heartbeat through his shirt and then immediately doused her hands in sanitizer as if she was scared she was gonna catch something from touching him. Really unsure of why she wasn't wearing gloves in the first place if she was so scared to touch him. They finally issue his prescription for the body wash, that he had to tell them about because they obviously didn't even really know much at all about what he had. They first recommended him selsun blue and tea tree oil. Even after all this and how upset he was, he just wanted to let it go and put the whole experience behind him. However, he is unable to do that.. because he spent all this time and money on this visit, only to get to Walmart to pick up his prescription (where he was told they would be sending it over,) only to be told that there is no record of this prescription for him in their system and that he now will have to wait until Monday when the doctors office reopens to call them and fix this matter. He works out of town all week and only had this Friday off to handle all of his business. So you can imagine how infuriating all of this is. This place really needs to get it together and work on their hospitality.

I completely trust Dr. Nutz and his staff to help me and my family with our medical needs. He is a very competent doctor who stays current with what's going on in the medical field to give his patients the best current treatments methods and provide them with the highest level of care available. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and I feel like they genuinely care about helping their patients. I've rarely had to wait more than 15 - 20 mins before being called to be seen. The only times I have ever had to wait longer than that was if I was being seen at a time when I was been lucky enough to be "squeezed in". His staff is very helpful in getting me the appointment times that are the most convenient for me. Dr. Nutz is very professional with great bedside manners. I feel very comfortable in discussing even the most personal issues with him. He is great with follow-ups and treatments from start to finish and beyond. I would highly recommend him to both friends and family, and in fact, my whole family receives their care from him. I cannot give a higher recommendation to Dr. Nutz and I wish him and his family great success.
