But I'm so grateful that I now feel truly at home. I really appreciate FCC for many reasons, but the most valuable is the way they serve others in our community. We have several families who do not attend here but who are going through really tough times, and the church is always quick to step in and help during their moments of need. I work with a nonprofit that FCC supports, and they do an amazing job--always with respect and genuine love. It's inspiring to serve alongside others who truly understand how to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I also value that the Word of God is preached here without hesitation or shame. We all know no church is perfect, because none of us are, but what matters is the love and commitment they show to living out Jesus's commands and ensuring that when you are ready to make the lifelong commnitment to welcoming Jesus into your life and heart the leadership here will walk alongside you so that you have a solid foundation and understanding of that choice.

They kept mentioning parents need to do community service but never said if they didn't do the hours they will withhold their communion certificate of completion. I have my personal issues and to why I couldn't do the 60 hours they required parents to have complete. I've called multiple times and left voicemails and not once have they returned my call or have I been able to speak to someone to see about his certificate. I recommend to avoid this church. Never in my life have I had an issue with any churches until now. Out of all the children that did their first communion that day only one child actually received their certificate so I wasn't the only one struggling to complete the " service hours ". I would not recommend you taking your child here to do their communion unless you have the time to do their require service hours. If the parent(s) can't do the service hours you have the option to do a " DONATION " of $10 per hour.

Unfortunately, the minister's words were not a celebration of the love and commitment of the bride and groom, but instead a rant against same-sex marriage. The pastor used the occasion of this couple's wedding to rail against gay people in a way that was highly inappropriate and incredibly offensive. Considering that the couple's best man as well as others in their wedding party in addition multiple of their guests are gay or lesbian, this homophobic speech was even more reprehensible. I understand that many churches do not support marriage equality and I am not writing this review because this minister has a different belief than I do; I am writing this review because his message was unwelcoming and was deeply harmful to me and to others around me. If you are going to call yourself a Christian church, you must recognize the inherent dignity of every person, including people who are LGBT, and treat everyone with respect regardless of whether or not you agree with them. There is never an appropriate time for a hate-driven message that demeans others, least of all at a wedding that should be a celebration of love. Sadly, I have no reason to believe that this was an isolated incident. This church's own statement of belief compares homosexuality with pedophilia. Clearly, this church's leadership lacks even the most basic understanding of what it means to be a gay person, and by the same measure, lacks any grace towards queer people. Please, if you know or care about anyone who is LGBT, find another church to attend - there are many out there who are more grace-filled and who are more concerned with the Gospel and God's love than with demeaning gay people and taking cheap shots in the culture wars.

All my close and extended family attends this church. Recently we had a death in the family and we tried to get information about having a mass for our deceased family member and I swear I was disgusted with the treatment we received. You call they don't call you back, we finally had to go in person to try to receive information the girl at the welcome desk was new so understandable she's not sure what's going on she's learning I understand but the rest of the staff was rude not helpful they made us feel like we were bothering them. This why people leave the Catholic Church because if staff like this. This isn't a free service either it runs you $400 and they act like it's a bother to spend a little time with you to look at dates and do their job. I'm really disappointed and I hope things change. To get the priest to come do her last rites it was the same thing the office wouldn't answer, they wouldn't call back, they could care less and it shows they're attitude is like they're too holy to deal with the masses it sad to see that this is who represents us and when you most need your faith community and family this is how you're treated. Whatever good is done by other members and the priest it's being undone with the office staff. In the such hard times don't expect the staff of sacred heart to bring you any comfort or support.
