Spectacular…read more Completely off the beaten path and integrated in the residential community, Antica Trattoria is a true gem nestled in this small village. Impeccable and friendly service with a true chefs tasting menu, be sure to make a reservation as the restaurant is small. Choose from a 1, 2 or 3 course meal, with dessert being additional, we came here twice and all menu items were amazing. The ravioli with stracchino, black truffle, mountain butter and parmagiano reggiano was my favorite. Mom loved the risotto with roasted onion semi dried tomato and basil. Interesting items such as the Catfish appetizer and complimentary seasoned herbed ricotta on a rice chip had interesting and unexpected flavors. Truly, don't miss this one.

The restaurant is clean and cozy with a beautiful fireplace . The service is outstanding and everyone is so pleasant and happy . Once seated , olive oil and bread was brought to the table. So yummy! Then another treat , herbed ricotta and chips was delivered compliments of the chef . It was so creamy and tasty . We then ordered the house wine which was excellent and for appetizer we had tge Catfish balls which were delicious . For our Primi and Secondi dishes my daughter ordered the Roasted Arctic Char and Ravioli with truffle. I got the Risotto with basil ,roasted onions and dried tomato and Sautéed summer vegetables in tomato sauce . The risotto was amazing , beautifully presented with a perfect bite . The vegetables were served in a pot , so fresh and tasty . Everything was exceptionally prepared well , flavorful and delicious! I highly recommend this lovely restaurant . Narrow winding roads through small villages,…read moreand then to arrive at Posallo in a tranquil location, overlooking the mountains and next to their own vegetable garden. The starter was a mixed salad from the garden, with a main course of mixed home-cooked stews, veal, beef and hirsch, plus a delicious cheese polenta. The selection of home made desserts was impressive, especially the home made jam. We went with two adults and our two boys (6 and 9), and we were all very impressed. There is no choice of menu, only what is served that day, so it is important to be open to trying various cuisines. The staff were very friendly and put up with our very limited Italian (we managed in English and German). Recommend to call beforehand so they know the time you are arriving.

It is like you are in their home and they are cooking just for you. Simply amazing!!! Bread and pasta to start. Followed by two separate meat dishes with a huge helping of polenta made with formage!!! (Ummmmm, Yes please!!). The best part was that the owner comes back after each serving and gives you more. If the meal wasn't scrumptious enough, we enjoyed a huge cantor filled with their homemade vino! Sooooo smooth! (Bottle of water also included) End the meal with a dessert of your choice and we were in Heaven! We were also unloosening our trousers...hehe What was the price for this amazing meal for four people??? $78.00!!!!! You can't beat that!!!! Btw, did I mention how friendly the entire family was? They all came out to Wish us a Buena Sera. Come here if you are in the Veranna/Lake Como area.

If you're visiting Lake Como, this is an experience that should not be missed. Named after the…read morerectanglar sails of the Lake's fishing boats from a bygone era, Al Veluu would be worth a visit even if there was no panoramic view. The kitchen exhibits that ability peculiar to great Italian cooking of transforming good fresh ingredients in relatively simple recipes into exquisite dishes. We dined there twice recently, a dinner and a lunch. Both were extraordinary experiences. Two risotoo dishes in particular stand out : a porchini risotto and risotto Milanese with its saffon infusion; both were about as good as I have tasted anywhere. Pasta dishes and a preparation of a local lake fish were also perfectly seasoned and tasty. And both of the local wines that was recommended turned out to be delicious and well-matched to our dishes. But what elevates this epicurian experience above and beyond is the restuarant's location and thus its spendid vistas. Dining on the patio one sits high on a hilltop overlooking the lake, affording the diner with a majestic panorama. The candlelit table, the exquisite food, the wonderful wine and the splendor of Lake Como all around; as a romantic experience, it would be hard to beat. Getting to the restaurant, you should be aware, will generally require a car or a taxi. For our lunch we did walk up the hill. Walking takes around 20 minutes and the walk is up some moderately steep roads that are not pedestrian-friendly, so it would not be adviseable to walk it at night.

One of the best parts of this place is it's view. Make sure you see it with some daylight because it was pitch dark by the time we got there. Also, if you are going there for dinner think how you are coming down to Tremmezo again if you are staying along the coast. It was raining when we wanted to leave and we had walked/hiked there so there was only one way to leave. A Taxi. This was ridiculously expensive. We paid 25 euros for a 5-10 mins ride. Ridiculous! The restaraunt itself is rustic and the staff is friendly. The food is very yummy. I had the best prosciutto I have ever had and very good bufala mozzarella. One if us at the tomatoe sauce pasta and the other the pork loin stuffed with herbs and cheese. Yuuumy!!!! We were really full after our dinner and unfortunately did not go for dessert. The ambience is rustic and they had a fire going in their fireplace. The restaraunt is small and doesn't sit that many people. We were surprised that even tho there weren't too many people the service was relatively slow. Lastly, this restaurant is expensive. Portions are small for their price. But it's a really nice experience.

The evidence is in the kitchen- the chefs in the small and quiet town of Porlezza take caution in adding little dabs of olive oil here and there along with fresh herbs and ingredients. Don't believe me? Walk in and look in the kitchen. Quite frankly, this was some of the best Italian food I have had as of yet. And the scenery, being lakeside, is an added bonus. Ambience: This place is off the beaten path, tucked away in Porlezza, a quiet city by Lake Lugano. That being said, it's worth ever extra ounce of gas spent to get there. Gorgeous lakeside view with outdoor seating and avoids being packed with tourists. Today was the first time I heard another American in Porlezza. Food: Italian restaurants in America need to get there act together. This was, by far, the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Fresh ingredients, superb execution and made from scratch. The evidence in in the kitchen- you can walk in and see it past the counter. I had the housemade gnocchi which was creamy and soft, melting away in your mouth. The salmon for my second course was just as good- perfectly mixed with olive oil, seasoned well and baked enough just to fall apart with my fork. Creme brûlée with berries to finish- not much else to say other than it fell in line with how good the rest of the food was. Drinks: It's Italy and so comes along the 2 euro glasses of wine. Love it. Service: Our food was a little slow to the table but now I know why. Well worth the wait to have fresh food. Other than that, we were very content with our service. Friendly and welcoming to all the guests, including the ones that are criminally pitiful at speaking Italian.
