We had our lunch here while in Menaggio. I am not sure about other meals but pizza is very good there. Me and my husband we shared 1 pizza. And we had some drinks, unfortunately they didn't had the drink I wanted but I choose Limoncello spritz, which was very strong by the way. My husband took local wine and it was pretty good. The waitress gave us good recommendation on that. The service there takes time and i had to go to pay to register because they keep forgetting even we ask 3 times. Outstanding food and drinks. Wine selection is great but you're in Italy you can get good wine everywhere. Veal wrapped with bacon was excellent. 9/10. Came with a little layered and fried potato. That was also outstanding. Didn't love the onion it came with it was a little undercooked for me. Asparagus appetizer. Small but very tasty. Piped on burata is a great touch with a bit of caviar. 9/10. My SO got the fish and didn't like it as much as I did. They come by and give you little tastes of what's cooking back there. Eel with guacamole was excellent as well as a tiny slice of a little lemon bar during dessert. The tiramisu was so delicious. Marscapone in a hard chocolate shell with warm chocolate and coffee sauce poured over it. Basically licked the bowl clean. Delicious 10/10. My gin and tonic was one of the best I've had and strong 10/10 Service was fantastic, constantly checking in on you which is rarity in Italy. They're so friendly and funny as well. Very friendly towards American tourists as long as you can take a little banter and jokes. Really fun experience. Kinda pricey but you get what you pay for. read more

Great restaurant. Very busy so try and get a reservation. I was visiting from the United States with my significant other. Staff was very nice and sneaked us in late without a reservation. Despite it being the end of the night everyone was friendly and helpful. Also my other half is gluten free and they were very accommodating. Big plus for us visiting Italy. read more

We are here on our first night in menaggio. The food and service here were excellent. My wife and I both got pasta dishes and both were some of the best meals we had in the lake como area. The staff is really helpful as well and do speak English as most restaurants in the area do. Our Italian isn't great so this helped. If you do plan to go, make sure you get a reservation for the restaurant as they are usually busy at all times. read more

Our favorite restaurant in all of Italy and we've been to Italy quite a bit. The service and staff are sensational. The food is insane. The carbonara ravioli are usually off-menu, ask for it. We went here for dinner after not being able to secure a table the night before and, thought we were in for a treat. When we arrived at the restaurant they were turning people away as, they were fully booked for the evening. The location is perfect and on a warm evening sitting outside, is the thing to do. The waiters are well dressed and, the tables are all done up formally in white table cloth and so on. The menu looked great, a slightly unusual menu comprised of, some Italian and some French / Mediterranean fusion food. The wine list was extensive and they had over 200 wines on the menu that were reasonably priced. Unfortunately the food did not quite meet the mark. We shared a starter of sautéed mushrooms which was excellent. My fish filet main unfortunately was over cooked and somewhat tasteless and, had too many bones in it (when it says filet, I expect boneless). I also tasted the goats cheer risotto with truffles and it tasted mostly of goat cheese and, lacked flavour or seasoning. The dessert we ordered, a trio of mousse was actually three mousse served in a pastry casing and again not great. The best part of the evening was the wine and they made a great recommendation. I was a bit disappointed with the food. Service was also a bit uncoordinated and lacking at times. Location is one thing but, for me it does not make up for average food. For me this place was between a two and three star for food and service. The location, sommelier and wine is five star :-) I would come back for the wine and cheese here but would have to think twice about the food. read more

My wife and I were visiting to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Dinner our last night in Como had to be perfect. It was. This is one of the few restaurants we have visited where we would not change one thing about our experience. We started with martinis, then wine. Dishes began with the risotto with prawns for two. We shared the veal. We finished with their interpretation of tiramisu. Perfect, all of it. The flavors, presentation, and accompaniment all exactly right and delicious. We finished with limoncello, espresso. One more note: the owner and his team are wonderful. From the moment we arrived until we said goodbye, they were inviting, gracious, and funny, too! So sad to see negative reviews just because people couldn't get a seat outside. By far THE best pasta dish I've had in Italy which is a lot of pasta. In the past two weeks, I've tried a lot of restaurants and have had only pasta. Service was great, food was phenomenal and view is breathtaking. Without a doubt, the worst dining experience of my existence, a result of our waiter mistakenly providing us with the wrong bottle of wine. We asked for the correct bottle, and an argument ensued -- initiated by the waiter. The food was not as memorable as the attitude we received. Safe to say, di Paolo is on our list of 'never again'. you definitley need to reserve a table as they always have to turn people away as they are very popular, we phoned just after 6:00pm and got a reservation each time. We ate there 3 times and had the "sea bass for two" on two of the evenings as it was excellent. Some of the starters were a little bland but still very good.
