We were driving around Winnipeg and everywhere we looked, we saw a crown dealer vehicles. We had to find out the story. So we pull in to the Toyota dealership. We get the attention of a sales associate, and right away the guy seemed a good guy. We initially told him we were not looking for a car but the story behind the dealership and their crown brand. The salesman answered all our questions, and led us to a guy to get us some more information. Not once did he seem inconvenienced or rushed to get these non car buyers out the door. As a lifelong Toyota customer, I have to say that this is the worst service center I've ever visited. I needed a replacement key, and they told me it was a drop off service visit that would take two hours. When it was finally done they charged 3 hours for labor plus shop supplies. Then they only made the key work for opening the doors! Finally, they charged a "shop fee" even though the car was never in the shop. At least they were courteous enough to refund the service time chargea after their error. read more

This is the worst place of "business" I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Do not buy a car from here. Avoid this place like the plague. Horrible experience, horrible place. Customer service does not exist. I just got an email from someone at crown toyota asking if I was still interested in buying a car. Here is my reply: Hi there.  I actually got a car from Crown toyota in 2017. And I have to tell you,  this is the worst place of business I have ever dealt with in my entire life.  My bluetooth in the car doesn't work properly.  I have been trying to get you people to fix it since July of last year.   I keep getting the run around,  no straight answers,  it's ridiculous. I deal with this guy and he says he will order the part and call me back when it's in.  Weeks go by and I don't hear anything . I leave him a couple.messages and never calls me back. I call again to speak with him, oh he doesn't work here anymore. The part still hasnt come in, we'll call you when it does.  Again weeks go by and I dont hear back.  I call to talk to that second guy. You patch me to voicemail.  I try that a couple times over a couple weeks and never get a call back. Finally I call again and get a hold if him. Oh ya, the part is finally here.  So I take a day off, drop my car for the day. Pick it up at the end of the day, and that guy says, they ordered the wrong part. We'll have to order the right one. It should be 3 weeks. I'll call you   Never hear from him. Weeks go by. I call to speak with him, keep getting put through to voicemail. Leave messages. Never get a call back. Finally talk to someone who tells me, oh he doesnt work here anymore.  Are you kidding me?! Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on with this?  Finally talk to Matt, and he says that the second part that was ordered is not the right one,  and he doesnt know how to fix my bluetooth,  and that he will have to talk to his manager and get back to me. He never did. I left him a message.  Never called me back. Your place is a joke. I will tell everyone I know,  and post on every platform I can, to avoid this place like the plague.  How can you be of assistance? We are from California and had planned on stopping in Winnipeg for three days when we had trouble with our tundra. Pulling a trailer and traveling across Canada it was imperative to be safe. We found Crown Toyota and just stopped in the first morning. The service manager and his associate was extremely nice and very professional. The waiting room was very clean and their staff was very pleasant. The manager explained all the repairs needed and the cost. We had a broken vent on the rear axle and the sensors were set off. The service manager, understanding that we were there to see the city provide us with a courtesy car, at no cost to us, for the duration of the repairs. We were able to see the sights of Winnipeg and the repairs were completed the following day. We were extremely satisfied with the service, repairs and the quality of customer care by the manager. read more

Bought 2020 Toyota Tundra in November 2019 paid an extra 1600$ to have TRD dual exhaust on at time of pick up. Was not done was willing to postpone taking the truck but dealership wanted it off their lot as this was a cash deal. Was told it would only be a week or two ... 4 months later and many texts and emails and phone conversations to Crown Toyota , Toyota Canada and CEO of Crown. Of course no return call from the GM or CEO.. only way to get written response is through BBB. That is their customer service department I guess. Also this is my last response to their BS on BBB: Pls communicate via email as I have had no calls from you . Why do you not respond to my emails.If you want I could post them on the bbb complaint board and show how Crown Toyota and Toyota Canada has given me the song and dance for the last 4 months about this part. I'm tired of waiting. I have emailed u and I have left voice messages for you directly and to the CEO of Crown Toyota to no avail.Your response was to give it to the salesperson that I dealt with when I purchased the truck... it is not his fault for this .. it is your responsibility as the general manager and Toyota Canada's responsibility to fix this and follow up as your customer service is lacking. So please respond by email Again the part was to be on at time of pick up that was the agreement. I was willing to postpone taking the truck but was told it would only be a week or two. Which was a lie .. period .. in times like this it is customer service that will dictate the future for your company..as for now I can't see using your dealership for any reason so that Crown plus that was forced on the sale . I would also like that to be reimbursed and I will take my business elsewhere. This email was sent February 27 2020 a full three months waiting: Hi Tyler, just sending this email as I'm still waiting for the black tip dual exhaust for the 2020 Tundra I took possession at the end on November 2019. My expectations where to pick up the truck with all accessories in place at that time .I was initially told there was a delay in this part. I was hesitant in take possession of truck as I said to Wesley I could wait for it, as my understanding was it would be a week or two. Now 3 months later nothing? Through a little google search I found out that this issue with parts is a long standing problem starting mid 2019 due to a up grade in Toyota's ordering and as stated by Toyota Canada was coming to a end in January when I called them. They indicated to call the dealership which I did and was told it would be in the first week if February. I did not receive a call so I guess it did not come in. Now what to do? I'm thinking of cancelling this order and will purchase somewhere else. As I believe this is a unrealistic time to wait. Sheldon I believe I was lied to just to make the sale (this was a cash deal) and take the vehicle off the lot. Again I would of canceled the purchase if I knew this was going to happen. This is my second Tundra bought through Crown and most likely will be my last Dear Sheldon , Wesley here from Crown Toyota! Tyler had just informed me of the email you had sent to him. I meant to reach out to you actually earlier today. I got a status update from my parts department and Toyota Canada. The exhaust is cleared from back order. Talking with my parts manager the exhaust should be here in the coming days. The ETA. that I received is 6-8 days. Once the part is in the store I will let you know, I want to physically touch the part and make sure it is ready to be installed. If the part arrives earlier, I will let you know as well and then we can schedule something regarding the install. I apologize for the delays, if you have any questions please let me know! We bought a used low mileage 2014 vehicle here recently. We had a mixed experience. The junior sales staff were friendly and helpful, but there was confusion between the senior people and what the junior people had committed to price-wise. Also troubling was the way the sales manager Dhiya (daughter of the owner, I'm told) and general manager Don insisted that a seized brake component discovered by our third-party mechanic was not a safety issue and not something they'd fix prior to sale. I called Vehicle Standards and Inspections (VSI) and was told that they were indeed required to fix it, and eventually it was fixed. Similarly, they didn't want to replace a dirty cabin filter, and instead wanted to clean it -- despite that their own service people told me that cleaning that type of filter was not recommended. To top it off Don threatened to hang up on me for "interrupting" him with these concerns. Note to used car dealers: people with small children who are shopping for a family car generally care about things like brakes. UPDATE: Don the manager just phoned me because he didn't like my review. He said that they never really objected to fixing the brake thing, it's just that they wanted their own mechanic to look at it first. That's total nonsense. I was definitively told "We've done enough favors for you already (really? what were those favors?) and so we're not fixing this, as it's not a safety issue, and is instead a maintenance item". read more
