I recently went to Crown Wine and spirits to purchase a scotch to give us a gift. The price on the shelf was $42! When I brought it to the cashier, the price was $79. I was told that the new owner raised all the prices! I hope that he can find all New customers too! read more

Wine and spirits are better with friends. Small cozy store located in DelRay Beach. Stopped by to get Some liquor, since it was on my way home and I didn't wanted to go out of my way to the big department stores. As soon as you walk in someone greets you with a friendly smile and offers their help. It was any first time and I did t know what to expect. The team member helped me locate the item I was looking for and offered me to walk around the store and take a look. Besides wine and spirits they sell cold meats and snacks. Also you can find mixers and a gift wrapping station. Compared to others stores the prices are 2-4$ more but the friendliness and the way they make you feel it is worth it. It is always good to support local business from our neighborhood. I will definitely be back to keep building up my points for their loyalty program. Make sure you ask for it at check out! read more

The best liquor store in Del Ray with the best staff. Stopped in to grab a bottle of vodka and cheese. Personally, I don't need the booze, the cheese is what draws me in here. Rick Is super nice and so helpful and always lets you sample what you are going to buy. Their prices are also reasonable. Highly recommend this one stop, wine, booze and cheese party establishment. Had amazing customer service from Bill, the store manager today. He did not have what I was looking for in his store, so he tried to have it transferred from another Crown store, but could not promise to get it by monday . I needed it for a birthday gift on monday. He actually googled other liquor stores and started calling several of them for me until he found it at one of his competitors. He then gave me directions on how to get there. He really went above and beyond for me without my asking him to do so! I was very grateful and thankful! read more

I asked the manager (Bill) for a brew they didn't carry. He discovered that it isn't available in SE Florida. The next time I went in he surprised me and had two cases for me. He had gone to visit a relative in GA and saw what I had been asking for in a local liquor store. He bought it using his own money without asking and brought it back with him. This used to be a fantastic place for high end beer, wine and liquor. Unfortunately, about six months ago it was purchased by a new company that is ruining everything. There are no more specials on the cheeses and meats. The employee turnover is incredibly high and I've heard they are cutting on the pay for their workers which explains the decline in customer service. Also, I went in today to use my loyalty rewards points but they had changed their system and I was unable to do so. I had to travel to another location that soon (once they update their system) will also not be able to use the loyalty points. Overall, a company/store in decline that needs to look in the mirror. read more

I go to crown at least two times a week because I work down the street. I usually have very good customer service until last night when bari was hounding us down the liquor isle like we were going to steal something and put it in our dress? Then we get to the check out and I am rudely told to go get my ID and I keep trying to tell her I'm in the system but she rings me up as a guest as she proceeds to ignore me. So I ask her to undo the transaction and rering it in and it seemed like a huge inconvenience for her. Please get a better and nicer staff member because she is definitely not it. Beware...these people are very nice and helpful until you have a problem with a purchase! The we see the real side of this business. We have been customers of Crown Wine in Delray Beach since we became snowbirds 4 years ago. Although their prices are higher than many other places, we felt that the convenience was worth the extra dollars. My friends and I enjoy good scotch so my husband and I went to crown, as always, to replace our bottle of macallan 12 with another one. We were running low. When my husband was reaching for the bottle, a salesman approached him and told him that if we like that scotch, we'll like the upgraded macallan better. He guaranteed it. My husband believed him and bought it for me and for our friends who enjoy it with us. Four of us Tasted it and we were very disappointed, as we felt that it tasted medicinal, not at all as smooth or as good as the one we originally wanted. We now have a full bottle that we cannot use. My husband went in and spoke with Don (assistant manager) to see what they can do for us....particularly since we did not ask for advice nor did we intend to purchase this scotch. He convinced us that it's better, and of course it's $25 more expensive than the one we wanted and always enjoy. He said he'd get back to my husband and he did not. My husband had to call him and he then told him there's nothing they can do. (Corporate policy). I then called and explained the situation to another assistant manager and he said that he'd reach out to a regional manager and get back to me one way or another. He never did. No surprise. I'm very very disappointed in how they are handling this...not even any credit! No concern about loyal customers and friends that we send to them. Obviously we will NEVER do business with this store again and we hope that others will think twice. This is total disregard for a loyal customer and just downright rude for never getting back to either of us. And again, we did not ask for advice on scotch, we wanted to purchase the one we always enjoy, and were approached and CONVINCED that we should try this one as we will like it better...guaranteed!!!" Just discovered this place in Delray the other night and it's fantastic. It's not huge but the selections are diverse and plentiful. Also surprising was they have fresh meats and cheeses available, as well as dips, crackers, chocolates, and other gourmet snacks.
