Some of the Crownview staff are amazing; professional and intelligent, and some are ridiculously below par and should not be working in mental health. Crownview has house managers that curse at the clients and say they are "f%€£€%# retarded." That is unacceptable. I worked there for 3 months as a house manager/case manager and quit because of the unprofessionalism of my co-workers. I could not believe how rude and uneducated my supervisor and her "mini-me" were. The clients also get zero one on one time with Dr. Melden, the ONLY psychiatrist, who makes all decisions about their meds. Dr. Melden is much like the Wizard of Oz, in my opinion, leaving the clients feeling invisible and helpless. I often felt Dr. Melden and his NP's were over-drugging clients, using them as cash cows. Had a scheduled zoom appointment with Christina today. I never received a link to connect to the zoom chat. That's fine. Mistakes happen. I just hope I won't be charged for a no show to the appointment. The real problem here is the attitude of those answering the phones. They are so cold and treat you like you are an inconvenience to them. Last time I checked I hired this office to take care of my mental health needs. They are working for me! These ladies working in the front office need to realize they are working for a practice that serves those with mental illnesses. Their attitudes leave a lasting affect on the patients day. The patient is coming to this place for HELP. Not to be talked down to and made to feel like an inconvenience. If it wasn't for the patients these ladies wouldn't have a job & quite frankly they shouldn't be employed at a place like this with their cold personalities. The receptionists are rude 10/10 times when I call, its very clear they do not like their job. This office makes refilling my prescription challenging only because they want to bill me for another dr visit for a prescription I have now been taking for about a year. They prescribe me a small amount of my daily medication and then demand that I book another appointment so that they can charge me for an additional dr visit. Dr. Rachel is a nice woman but she is NEVER on time for her appointments and will still charge you a no show fee even if she's the one who was late to the appointment. If I could give 0 stars I would! The office is run horrendously, it is difficult to get in touch with your doctor, and I had my doctor LEAVE this office with ZERO notification to me as a patient. I just called to try and schedule and appointment when I found out. My doctor, Rachel H was the ONLY reason I had stuck it out for so long. If you are struggling with your mental health or anxiety DO NOT GO HERE!! Find another site as every single step I took with this office was a legit FIGHT for me. Yelp is great and all, but should not dictate your mental health care. Here's my experience: The administrative staff is cold and the waiting area makes you feel as though you're certifiably inept. The psychiatrist (Dr. Melden) was the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He sat down with me and immediately started making accusations and judgements based off very little interaction. Furthermore, when I attempted to explain to him why I stopped my medications he didn't care my reasons, just decided I was being self destructive. (Side note: turned out I was misdiagnosed prior to him and the side effects of the meds which I stopped were a result of the misdiagnosis--which he'd have known if he LISTENED and not judged.) The psychologist (a female not listed on their website whose name I cannot recall at the moment) was awesome. The only problem was her hours and days of availability were limited. Stay away from this place. It's seriously dangerous for people trying to seek mental help. Dr. Mark Melden is extremely unprofessional and called me a spoiled princess when trying to talk to him about how I was depressed over the recent deaths of family members, and said that a death was no reason to feel depressed. Wtf?? Who speaks to a patient like that? How is that of any help? The good therapists and psychiatrists I had there ended up leaving, of course. The receptionists are unprofessional and stupid, and have tried charging me for "no shows" for appointments that I had actually canceled days ahead of time. They are so unorganized that they apparently kept no record of me cancelling and went ahead to just charge me ridiculous amounts for no shows. Also, the wait time is ridiculously long. I have waited over two hours at some points for appointments. So unprofessional. Not to mention they play intense music in the waiting room that gives me anxiety and they refuse to change it. Completely incompetent and useless front desk staff. If you call to get an appointment scheduled they will say they will call you back and nothing will happen. Prescription pre-authorizations will take multiple submittals from your pharmacy along with multiple phone calls just to get a pre-auth submitted to your insurance. Also, good luck if you get married and change your last name. They will still keep your records under your old last name due to their outdated filing system and methods. The office there is old, ugly, and depressing with former/current drug addicts seeming to be their main clientele. The entrance reeks of smoke with smokers standing outside. The doctor I see there is always at least one hour behind and never apologizes for wasting your time. One time I remember waiting so long that the next appointment after me came in and although I was the next appointment there waiting, the Dr. called for the appointment after me. I had to stand up and explain what about me? This office seems entirely based on volume of patients, pushing prescriptions, and has zero real compassion. Needless to say I am in the process of finding myself a new a doctor that keeps to a schedule, actually does something other than renew prescriptions, has competent staff, and an office setting that doesn't look like I just walked into rehab. If you are going through a tough time in your life and need genuine help and compassion, don't waste your time with these bozos. read more

Christina Lam never once actually did a video meeting with me. I had 4 or 5 visits with her and we've never seen each others faces... she was late to every appointment and would ask if she could just call me on the phone. We'd have a short rushed chat and she'd be on her way. The staff running her phones are rude and never answer without putting you on hold for over 5 minutes. I waited over 15 minutes before and then hung up. They rarely returned any of my voicemails. I asked for my health records for my new psychiatrist and a woman at the front desk (once I finally got a hold of her) told me they would not give me the records so I had to file a report with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as that is a HIPAA violation. While making my report I learned Christina Lam is not even a doctor she's a nurse... I'm not sure how I did so bad choosing a provider for my mental health concerns but this has been the worst experience I've ever had and put me in a lot of distress. This company shouldn't be dealing with anyone's health, let alone people who are mentally ill. Such a discrace. I will review and report as much as I possibly can to help other people from falling into the hands of these careless, lazy people. read more

I first started going here in 2015 but then moved out of the area. I had no issues with the office and the provider I saw was wonderful. I have since returned to the area and began seeing a new provider. The billing office has been a nightmare. On June 14th I had my first appointment and I was charged $75 for a no-show. It is documented that I was there for my appointment but they still haven't refunded the charge even though it is now the end of October. I also had an appointment in September that they charged a co-pay of $30 that should not have happened because I have met my out-of-pocket and deductible for the year. I have called multiple times a week and been given the run-around from the office as well as the billing department saying they will have someone get back to me to figure it out. They did say if it was resolved they would credit my account. I need a refund, not a credit. This is completely unacceptable and that is $105 that I consider they have stolen from me. I don't want to have to find a new doctor but unless they remedy this I will have no choice but to seek care elsewhere. This clinic is extremely disorganized and the front office staff didn't even know if individual therapy is offered to Medicare patients. After telling me the service was available and scheduling me with a good therapist with whom I bonded, they called and said "oh sorry, that isn't covered.". I didn't have to pay for that only session. Instead, they billed it under a psychiatrist for a really high rate. Over 8 mos., I've had to call twice for refills, with no returned calls nor calls to the pharmacy. As I type this, I've been waiting at my computer for 30 minutes for a telehealth session to begin. after 20 mins., I called. The receptionist said she'd ring through to the clinician and sssured me she'd answer. After 5 mins of waiting, I hung up. This clinic is a disaster. read more

The medical staff in the front are not competent. It takes them 20 minutes to write a single sentence letter only to be corrected because the date and month are wrong. My medications are not called in on time and I had to get an emergency supply or risk going through sudden withdrawal. I like Rachel Hueftle but her staff are a liability and no one at Crownview seems to care. I was supposed to have a tele-appointment today but never received an email confirmation. My medication has run out and this is a lack of patient care. They never call back and I can no longer trust Crownview to be ethical and honest. Shame on Crownview for allowing your front desk staff to be incompetent and indifferent towards clients. I have a choice of having to find another provider or go cold turkey. I can never get anyone to call me back!!! I had a question recently about being double billed and it's been over a week and still no call back. Previously if I have a question or need to reschedule I have to call them multiple times and leave a voicemail each time and still never hear back. I am looking for a new doctors office to go to. I was told to do a review for this establishment because they were supposed to "help me". The front desk staff has absolutely no idea what they're doing. They've told me many different stories about how Dr.K has approved my refill of my anxiety meds. I've called many times and the refill was "sent through" and now it has been rejected by Dr.K. I cannot believe the lies these people give. I'm just trying to get a refill, it costs me $350 out of pocket to see Dr.K. I can't aLeah's afford that. Since I cannot afford this payment to be seen right now I'm not aloud to get my prescription refilled? Absolutely disgusting how they treat people here. They also told me to get a certain medical so I could be seen but now they don't accept medical. This place is a worthless hole in the wall. Absolutely the WORST run office I have ever been to! Our Doctor left and we received no notice. Needed meds refilled and spoke with the staff 5 separate times and they continued to BS me saying they would "call me back" I NEVER got a phone call. I had to physically go in the office and lose it for the manager to finally call the prescription in. I was lied to by a number of the women working in there. They are messing with peoples mental health. They need to be shut down! read more

Horrible. Unless you're an incorrigible alcoholic or a drug user. These guys base everything off AA. And you're expected to go to AA meetings five nights a week, even if you don't drink or do drugs. Treatment for depression is torture. And if you're over 40, doubly forget it. Lots of walking, terrible food and accommodations, and every possible pill available thrown at you. AND EVERYBODY ( including the staff) VAPES EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. read more

Been going to this office for 4-years. Their office staff is among the worse you can get. The best you can hope for is for them to say hello and make eye contact when you come to the window to check in. They had a doctor that I loved (Dr. Zerraggosa - hence the long time I was going to this location). Unfortunately, he departed to focus on his private practice and I was shifted to who I believe is one of the owners (Dr. Melden). he is somewhat engaged (much better than most) but doesn't get involved much with the office and (as I consider that part of the patient care) his patience suffer for it. Point of note: As I understand they fired and replaced most of their office staff a year ago and it did improve (slightly). At lease medical records we eventually being processed, but at the end of the day, not worth the hassle I would recommend you find a doctor's office that is part of the solution, not the problem. read more

They gave me something that would be "light" but all it did was knock me out for a month and then Dr. Meldon had the audacity to ask why I stopped taking the prescribed dose?? It's because I couldn't do anything for a month and I would like to function in normal life l. They just won't allow you access to the truly useful medication, he is closed minded and won't hear you out, it's a quick 5 minute convo of him telling you to go to rehab. This review is solely for the office staff. My husband and I love Rachel, and she has been nothing but great to us in the last few months. However, I've never seen a more incompetent office staff in my life. My husband is going on short term disability leave and to do so, we need Crownview to do their part. We've been misinformed, mis-charged, and been run around in circles for over 3 weeks. The office staff was faxed paperwork by my husband's provider, and it seems that the faxes just sit there until we call 5 days later wondering why his leave hasn't been approved. I myself have had to call over 6 times, leave voicemails (and not one time get a call back) and even go into the office, while their best explanation for their incompetency is "oops." When we ask if the paperwork can be completed by end of day they respond with "maybe." Unfortunately "maybe" doesn't work when we've waited a week. Maybe they don't understand that people's livelihood sometimes depend on them getting their act together and doing things on time and correctly. I wish I could say it's been resolved but we are still dealing with their incompetency. Like I said, Rachel has been wonderful, but you can't just see the doctor, you have to go through the office staff. Who, to sum them up, have been inconceivably terrible. read more

All three times we had appointments we were waiting at least 30 minutes or longer. The last time I asked how much longer and was told that they had no idea. The office staff is very rude and self serving. It was very obvious that they did not care at all that we were kept waiting. Also, they do not return calls promptly even in emergencies. Patients are not important to them. My daughter had a severe reaction and it took them 2 days to get back to us even though I made it clear when I called that there was a desperate need to speak to someone quickly. I went to dr k because I read of all the great reviews posted for him. I waited for 45-60 minutes for him and in the meantime there were people walking. In and out, back and forth, going upstairs and crying. And I was thinking to myself what kind of place is this. Then finally we got called into his office and he said wow you are the 4th new patient I have seen today. Then I handed him our paperwork and immediately he said well you might not not be happy with me or like what I'm going to say, but the people who have this place will not agree on this medication you need and they think it is from the devil. I scheduled through the Internet to see Dr Maha. Website informed me several times they don't take my insurance so I was surprised when the staff called to tell me I'd need to pay cash. I thanked her and told I knew that. She said I'll "update your profile" and hung up. Left a bad taste in my mouth that money is most important to them but ok it's a business. I arrive for my appointment to discover the Dr has cancelled all her appointments. Staff said they couldn't find my number to call me. Someone found it to make sure I brought money but couldn't find it to let me know the appointment was cancelled. Too many others places I won't be going back. read more

I have been treated by Christina Lam, NP, she is the most caring, charismatic, down to earth person and makes you feel like you are more that just a patient, she has treated me like family. The front desk staff ladies are very hard working and they have all been very courteous and prompt to attend to my needs. Crownview has been there for me during the hardest times of my life. I've been coming here for a few months now and i see Rachael. My god has she been my favorite! I've seen a few other psychiatrists and none that have ever been as patient as Rachel has been!! I finally found someone whom I feel comfortable with and not afraid to express how I feel. Ive encountered rude customer service at the front desk a few times. Mostly when I call but today, Adrianna took care of me. She was awesome. I saw a lobby full of people and I asked if Rachael had a lot of customers before me, if so id have to reschedule bc i was on my lunch break from work. (Which I didn't mind rescheduling) She was kind enough to let Rachel know I was in a bit of a rush and was seen right away! I wouldn't let the bad reviews scare you away. I love Rachael! My girlfriend always comes back to tell me about the unprofessional front staff and office personnel. Completely rude and insensitive to patients including her. The actual doctors are quite good, but the staff is not. They seem to act like patients are annoying them and they don't seem to like their jobs. Synopsis: The atmosphere resembles a cross between an AA meeting and your local DMV office that's staffed by the person collecting your tickets at a carnival ride. (It's disingenuous even giving them one star, but negative stars or a zero was not an option) Stepping out of my car at 12:32 for my 12:30 appt, I quickly walked to door of the residential style house converted to an office. It was locked. Hearing people around the corner led me to a door around back. Wading through the people loitering outside the back of the house, it looked like an AA meeting on break. Walking sideways to squeeze through the next group of people in the waiting room (which is just really a hallway) I was stopped short of the check-in window by a gentleman wearing a loosened necktie using a microwave to heat up his lean cuisine lunch. Finally making it to the window, I was greeted by the back of a woman's head as she chatted away with her associate. Concerned that I was running late, I politely tapped on the sliding glass window while leaning in to speak through the circular hole, "Hello, I have a 12:30 appointment with Dr. Melden." Without lifting her gaze from the crooked analog clock fasten to the wall, "You are late" she snapped. I pointed out it was just a few minutes and since I emailed in my paperwork the day before may I sign in to see the doctor. The next 6 minutes were spent questioning me and her associates on who authorized the paperwork being emailed to me and that they normally don't do that. By the time that controversy was finally settled along with the laborious mouse clicks registering me into the computer the titled clock wearily read 12:45. "Well since there is only 15 minutes left for your appointment, you will have to reschedule." Waiting for her to crack a smile as if she was teasing me never occurred. Frustrated I noted there was still 15 minutes left and I would still like to see the doctor. Rudely, tossing me insurance card via the pass through window she vanished to find the doctor. Through the window I could see the woman talking to a man wearing a necktie balancing a lean cuisine lunch in one hand and a plastic fork in the other. That was enough for me, I turned around and walked out to the sound of a scolding receptionist yelling that the doctor couldn't see me now and I would have to call back to reschedule. read more

This front desk staff, especially Brianna could not be more rude. She could care less about the concerns you have and the fact that you are dealing with a mental illness.
