Dr. Reed was my doctor for over a decade. She was a true professional with a caring heart. If it would be possible, I would treat with her once a week indefinitely. I began with a phone call and being placed on a wait list which was about 2mos out. I got a call back about 2wks later for a next day appointment. I took it. From there we have had two face-to-face appointments, one FaceTime emergency call, and countless text messaging interactions. We have gone through a gambit of medications (I think five), before finding one that works (I'm on month four now of this med! Yay!). She is very accessible, caring, diligent. In response to other reviews, please keep in mind (readers) that interpersonal communication varies between individuals. That, and while not trying to negate feelings or experiences, some mental health diagnoses come with paranoia (or just a feeling of un-trust). I can speak from experience that on my first appointment I wanted to scream, run out of the room, etc. but NONE of it was BECAUSE of Dr. Reed--however, I did have to fight the urge to direct it at her. I won the battle that day, thankfully. Please take reviews about mental health care with a grain of salt. Anything worth doing is worth doing right and if you care about your mental health to the fullest (and understand the impact it has on others') then you'll be understanding of the possible wait times. I contacted Dr. Reed because she was in network. I was highly encouraged to attend my initial appointment in-person per the Doctor's preference; I pushed for virtual due to my schedule and preference. They emailed me the paperwork and I was uncomfortable emailed in back without encryption due to the volume of personal information. As a result, I agreed to return it and attend my initial appointment in person. I arrived 12 minutes early and waited in the hallway as the door was locked. As the appt time neared, I knocked with no response. A minute after the appt was supposed to start, I called the office and the receptionist opened the door and apologized for the lock. She took my paperwork, asked me to flip a switch notifying the Dr. of my arrival and then asked me to wait. Almost 15 minutes later, the Dr. ushered me into her tiny (and I mean tiny, cluttered and unprofessional) office. I sat and noticed she was not wearing a mask. She immediately told me that in her office I don't need to and that I should remove mine. I told her that I was uncomfortable doing so; she didn't seem to like that response and while I can understand the value that seeing my facial expressions would add to her ability to do her job, it's inappropriate. She then ate into our remaining time by asking for my street address. I told her that all of that (and more) was on the paperwork her receptionist had and she said that she needed it again to begin. I shared my address and she slowly typed it and I realized that this was not going to work. My time is my most precious commodity these days and being late and wasting it on duplicative tasks is not a good fit. I did not appreciate the situation with the masks or the tone behind it and; while I support her personal freedoms to support whatever political candidate she chooses, I felt that her MAGA hat proudly on display was unnecessary and added to the unprofessional experience. Realizing how uncomfortable and annoyed I was as a result of all of this helped me realize that this was simply not the doctor that I wanted to open up to. I asked her if we could cancel the appointment. She said yes with visible irritation and I walked out and collected my paperwork. I left angry with the experience based largely on the mask incident. Always on the computer Office is super cramped and disorganized. If she disagrees with anything you do or say she will go on a long rant about it. She put the wrong prescription in, it was a different patients meds in my pharmacy Cold hearted, like her and her families life is much better than you and has also suffered much more than you. If you tell her you are feeling anything but happy she will just up the medication you are on. If you aren't on birth control she won't fill any anxiety defeating drugs. She answers the phone or messages on the lap top if they come in. I do not recommend her, she should just retire. read more

If I could give a lower rating than a one I would!! I was supposed to have my first appointment with Dr. Reed yesterday. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30. I arrived around 12:10 and checked in with the receptionist who gave me paperwork to fill out. After going over all of the papers and completing them I returned them to the receptionist. She told me to flip on the light switch and that she would be out shortly. After waiting 30 minutes, the receptionist poked out her head to let me know that the Dr hadn't forgotten about me but was running late with another client and maybe she had an emergency. So I'm like um okay. She made it seem as if the doctor was not in this same office. She said she would be coming to get me soon. Another 30 minutes pass and I begin to get very upset! I walked up to the receptionist who says that the doctor barely sent her an instant message saying that she would be right out. The receptionist got up and went to check to see what was going on and said it sounded like she might be on the phone. It's now 1:20 and another woman comes in and also checks in to see doctor Reed for a 1:30 appointment! At this point I'm pissed! When the doctor finally comes out a little old lady walks out and leaves. The thing that made me really angry is that she was looking at both of us and asked "Is someone here for me." Like no shit! Do you not check to see who is going to be coming for appointments?! She didn't even know my name! She asked if I wanted to come back and I told her "Sure but I only have ten minutes because I have another appointment." She didn't even apologize and said "I can't do everything in ten minutes". Like no shit that's why we had an appt set for an hour!! While I'm standing there in silence very angry at her disregard for my time she tells me "I didn't know you were even here. I don't know how that happened but I didn't know you were here. You should just reschedule." Im thinking to myself first of all how do you not notice oh okay I have a 1230 and haven't heard anything maybe I should call the receptionist or something! The receptionist felt really badly and was really calm telling me the only next appointment they would have would be 2 days in the morning or the following week. I just thought, this old btch is lucky that I got my physician to give my my RX because if I didn't have any I would be furious! I know you don't get meds prescribed on the first appointment so for her to want to push me back even further was bullshit. The receptionist apologized but never once did the Doctor. I told them that I will call back IF I decided I actually wanted to come back because I'm not a patient person and I say there calmly for an hour and that's just not okay with me. I do NOT recommend anyone going here if you value your time or have other appointments in the same day. Horrible service and a complete disregard for her patients! read more

Absolutely horrible woman! I went in to for a first appointment and she was an hour late! I was told she doesn't usually come in until later that day, so I don't why someone, who's supposed to know her schedule would even make an appointment for that time. When she did arrive, she didn't apologize and instead gave the excuse that she doesn't normally check her schedule until she gets to work. Wow, if I could live in a world like that! (You would think that someone might care to know their patient line-up for the next day.) Then she also made the comment that most first appointments don't show up anyway! First thing she tells me after I finally get in her office, is that I'm going to have to speak up because I'm competing with the fan in the room! In order for the old bat to even hear me, I had to practically yell and was not able to use a comfortable speaking tone. Then, even after filing out all the paperwork that was given to me, she pulls out her computer, which effectively put a block between us, and wants me to rehash all the personal info she should have reviewed via the paperwork I just filled out. I started explaining previous diagnosis to her and that my past doctor had believed I may have had something in addition and she took one look at me and told me I didn't have it. I'm not going to go into detail what it is, but it's not something that can be diagnosed visually or on a first visit, yet Yoda could apparently divine I was free and clear. She constantly could not hear me (because of the fan and how far away she was), so I would have to speak up, which got very frustrating. Then, I would try to tell her something I felt relevant and tell me not to interrupt her and that she was asking the questions. She literally made me feel like I was in 2nd grade again dealing with an old bully teacher who likes to terrorize small children. I got extremely upset and started crying and she then told me I needed to calm myself and be quiet! Who the @#$% does that? Especially someone in the health care profession? Eventually I realized that this woman lacks empathy and care, and I walked out. Something I have NEVER had to do with a health care provider. I also took back all my private info on the paperwork because after my experience, I could not possibly trust a person like her. read more

This Doctor was helping me for 2 years. When I noticed my prescriptions were messed up, I notified the Office. I was abruptly informed she was no longer in Practice and had NO Doctor to turn to. I attended one of my husband's sessions with Dr. Reed because I was distressed over his deepening depression. After spending a great deal of time with her laptop computer, she finally told my husband she had refilled his prescriptions which was perplexing because she had not inquired about his mood. He did try to tell her how hopeless he felt and what things he was no longer able to do and she only said she wouldn't like to handle things he way he was handling them. Since my presence was not acknowledged, I explained my concerns and asked if she had any suggestions he might try to improve his situation. She just said she would increase his medications. He cancelled future appointments and now has an empathetic, competent professional who genuinely listens to what he says and has implemented a short and long term treatment plan for him which has resulted in positive changes in his mood and motivation. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a psychiatrist. She made me extremely uncomfortable and wouldn't engage in conversation. She prescribed me the wrong medication and refused to fix it upon request and didn't give a reason. Her office was cluttered and featured many different Trump hats and Bible verses. I look very queer and I wonder if this is why she treated me so poorly. I wouldn't not recommend her to anyone. She even compared not knowing her grandma to the DEATH OF MY PARENTS. Horrible. Insisted on increasing my medications more than double the amount after my first session even though I told her I was doing fine where I'm at. Left me twiddling my thumbs while she was constantly looking at her computer and every question that she asked and I answered was followed with of 10 minutes of awkward silence. Dr Reed has been my Doctor for ten years, I owe her my life. She is busy and many times I have had to wait for a long time but I understand because when I need the extra time due to struggle Dr Reed will do what other Doctors don't she makes sure I am well before I leave her office. I see negative reviewers bad mouthing her and all I have to say what works for some doesn't work for all. Don't give up or focus on the negative find a Doctor that's right for you because battling mental health is overwhelming already. She's a horrendous woman. Completely insensitive and completely inept. I wanted to stay on medication assuring her I did not have a rash and she tells me that I will not question her authority. If I continued to question her authority that she would discontinue seeing me. Fine by me! I think she forgot that I paid her and not the other way around. She's too old and out of touch to be in this profession and too brash to even be around civilized people. She ought to be on medication herself. Plus, as we are trying to get our insurance to cover it her office keeps claiming they have not received the paperwork the insurance company keeps sending over. What a bunch of malarkey. I've been to many doctors and therapists over the years; this doctor is top notch. She is VERY direct and does not tell you what you WANT to hear, but tells you what you NEED to hear. She's been around and she is extremely dedicated to her patients. I have her cell number and she responds to her patients 7 days a week - can't ask for more than that. She see's 12 patients a day, five days a week. I couldn't ask for a better doctor; simply the best!! read more

I've seen her as part of my "case" for the past few years. She has always been rude and abrasive but lately her self absorbed demeanor has gotten worse. So has her fees. She charges $250 for 15 minutes and all I heard in my last appointment was about her roommate and their baby and her neighbor who died after drinking a glass of wine and being on the same meds as I am on "SO DON'T DRINK EVER!" Well she has had me on them for 5 years and never mentioned it before! I only go to her for these meds and am now trying to find another doctor to help wean me off of them! Find another doctor one that is perhaps a bit younger and more in touch? When I asked about medical marijuana her answer was "well if you want to wear diapers when your in your 70's" WTF? read more

Doctor Reed is a wonderful, caring and extremely enlightened professional. She is one of the few Therapists that I have ever known who can truly relate to me and help me with my issues. She runs a very small practice and once in a great while runs behind schedule, which is very typical in this profession. She does her very best to see everyone, especially if they need their medication. One late client or client in crisis is all it takes to throw off a schedule, and many, many clients in this field have time management difficulties and go into crisis at one time or another. Yet, she still tries her best to accommodate everyone without taking timeouts for herself. Her laptop contains client files. She does her progress notes during the session, so she can have more time for her clients. She is selfless and relentless, and often works way past her schedule to see her clients, and I commend her and thank her for this. For those of you out there giving negative reviews and name-calling, I invite you to go to an agency or less experienced provider. It will be an eye-opener...believe me. I showed up to my first meeting with this woman about a half hour early. I finished my paperwork promptly and waited over a half hour past my scheduled appointment time. After spending an hour in the dimly lit lobby I saw an elderly woman open the door to look at me. I introduced myself and offered my hand to her (I was taught shaking hands is the proper way to introduce one's self), but to my dismay she looks at my hand, turns around and says "come with me". I was unsure at first whether or not this woman was intentionally rude or she simply didn't know any better. I quickly had my answer. I began to describe to her problems which plagued me and what I do about them. The first thing she did was cut me off to call me an addict and an alcoholic. Five minutes into a conversation with a stranger and she is reducing me down to a few crass phrases and instructing me on how wrong I've been my whole life. I don't have an opportunity the rest of the meeting to get the topic off of alcohol. Whenever I speak up she cuts me off or tells me to be quiet or not to interrupt. Welcome to church! At least that's where I thought I was for the longest time. I know exactly how this woman was raised, what denomination she is and how she views God. Why is that? Because she was trying to push her religious beliefs on to me! I was utterly shocked by the nerve of someone who spent the last 10 minutes personally insulting me decide my problems were those of a heathen. I told her my religious views did not align with hers and she told me I was wrong! Wow. I could tell my beliefs were an affront to her and she became visibly vexed as she corrected me time and time again about what will happen to me after I die. Our conversations seemed to be continually derailed. Not to get too personal, but my primary problems were not eating or sleeping. I primarily have an anxiety disorder. This woman puts me on a medication that affects 10-20% of its users with INSOMNIA and 5-10% of them with ANOREXIC TENDENCIES and loss of appetite. Nervousness, aggression, and irritability being common side effects as well. When I told her about a medication I was taking before and how it affected me she said "please, I'm a psychiatrist I promise you I know more about these drugs than you do"......well then... This woman is from a bigoted time and place. She lives in a world where she is never wrong, and her infinite knowledge and wisdom is best delivered by way of personal insult and crass remarks intended to belittle and emotionally harm her patients. I'm not sure I've ever met a woman so rude or ill mannered. I have absolutely no desire to learn in what kind of home she was raised, but I would wager it was much more dysfunctional than any of her patients'. I'm going to print off these Yelp reviews, march into her office, and kindly request a transfer to someone a little saner. To those reading this, why are you looking for a psychiatrist? For treatment? For help? For someone who compassionately listens, striving to understand you so they can make the right calls to help you? Try a different person. Please. I'm on a medication that is exacerbating my symptoms every day. I was treated by a woman who didn't care about me, how I felt, or what I thought was wrong with me. I absolutely love dr reed!! She has been very sensitive, understanding, sympathetic, and extremely helpful to my needs. I honestly feel I could call her to talk to her any time about any problems I am current facing and I can trust and rely on her to be an ear to talk to and to give me advise and the right kind of medications to balance me out. What I love about her also is she doesn't over prescribe me things, and just put me on whatever. She actually takes her time getting to know you and your needs before making a decision of putting one on any medications. She is my fav! I just wish I could see her more often than I do. She is extremely rude women. When I showed up for my appointment I had to wait 30 minutes to see her. I walked in her office and right off the bat see gave me attitude so I ignored her and sat down. She sat behind her computer and never asked me question on how I'm doing my meds, she just printed off my prescription then started to ask about my son who is 7 years old and I told her little about him and what his diagnosis is and was thinking about putting him on something and I mention a med and how I didn't approve off it "which is my opinion" and out of know where she pointed her finger in my face and started yelling at me then told my son to go sit in the waiting room and I told her not to tell my child what to do so she's still yelling as my son and I are leaving and told me she canceled my next appointment and not to come back. She is a disgusting women. I would not recommend her for anyone and my own opinion I think she needs meds. read more

I love this woman! She is a great physician and gives great advice. I have never had a doctor be so thorough let alone a psychiatrist be so thorough. I have been to other psychs before and all they wanted to do was prescribe and tell me I was depressed when I clearly was not. Dr. Reed is the best ever! She was a huge help to not only me but my family. She was patient, caring and concerned. She was complete accurate in she diagnosis and helped me with a difficult and lifelong problem ( an injury at a relatively young age that would prevent me from having a normal life). i was seeing dr. reed for a couple of years, when i talked to her about my extreme sensitivity, she referred me to different parts of the bible. i can feel others emotions and pain. some people call it "empath". i quit drinking almost 3 years now and these feelings are getting bigger and i need to know how to deal with this. dr. reed also believes that crystals, meditation,a 6th sense or anything of that nature is evil or black magic! dont get me wrong,i do believe in god, and i think god may have givin me this gift {right now it feels like a curse} i just need someone who believes me and to help me cope with all these emotions and pain. maybe i will be able to help other people once i can deal with it. {the shooting in las vegas cut me like a knife in my heart and my gut! and it still hurts}perhaps i drank so much of my life was my coping mechanism to fill a painful gut feeling which could have been other peoples feelings with my own.now being sober i will need guidance and support not alcohol. so in plane terms, unless you are very religious dont waste your money or time to see her. she is way too old school! read more
