One isn't really in my bite and the other bite is funky and too difficult to entrust to random dentists that have done it wrong in the past. I simply wanted it sealed up and left out of my bite. Mr. Personality lol had other plans. Unnecessary root canal and crown on a tooth that doesn't even hurt and unwanted crown on the funky tooth. My issue…read moreis the sales pressure for the "deep cleaning" that has crept into almost every dental office in the last decade. And Elko Dental Care was no exception. Is there a time and place for the deep cleaning? Of course. It's a legit procedure. Does every patient need it every time? No. It's a cash grab for the office. It's not covered by your insurance and will likely run between $250-$500. I am blessed with good teeth. I take good care of my mouth. I'm 55. I have all my teeth. No cavities since I was a teen. And without fail, every dentist I've seen in the last decade has pressured me for this deep cleaning, even when I'd just had one the year before. Elko Dental Care went to another level, trying to convince me that the standard cleaning could actually be bad for me. They then had me sign an AMA waiver in order for them to do the standard cleaning. Then they told me that they would only do the standard cleaning this one time. Next time, I'd have to get the deep cleaning. Don't worry; there won't be a next time.

I…read morescheduled my appointment for June 11th at 11:45, checked in, got taken back for X-Rays, then put back in the waiting room. I asked how long my Oral Surgery would take and they said, "Oh About 30-40 mins". So I thought to myself, it is now 2pm, and I am still waiting in the waiting room for a 30 min procedure. The math wasn't adding up, and the waiting room was FULL of people. I rescheduled for a week later, for the morning, and I was only waiting for about 15mins this time before surgery began. All in all, Dr.Selznick seemed friendly and quick. The procedure room was slightly off-putting, because there air conditioner had been out there was a fan/swamp cooler against the wall making noise. My surgery did only take 30 minutes and I was out of there. The annesthesia wasn't BAD to where I couldn't walk or really function, I was just slightly loopy for a couple hours. It is now day 3 since the surgery and I am actually just in slight discomfort, not really pain! I have only read 1 Yelp review about things turning out very bad for her since her surgery with Selznick, but I am doing fine for the most part!

I made an apt at a Simon Family Medicine for a prescription refill and have a general practitioner…read morethat was local, and from what appeared to be reputable. after taking time off of work, filling out all of the paperwork and paying my insurance deductible- I was refused to be seen by the Dr. because of my age! I was told I was too close to being on Medicare (due to my age) and could not be seen. Please note I have insurance through my employer and plan on continuing to work and keep my coverage- which has nothing to do with Medicare. I was extremely embarrassed and was made to feel discriminated due to my age. I would give them ZERO stars if that was an option.

In my family's experience, Dr. Simon is the most unhelpful doctor I have ever met. Living in a…read moresmall town with medical professionals who don't think outside the box is difficult, which is why the majority of people in this town go out of town for appointments. My wife is pregnant and I want to be able to breastfeed the baby as well. We knew this was a possibility but didn't know where to start. Therefore, we connected with the lactation nurse at the hospital, who is amazing. She has spent a ton of her time figuring out how we can be able to do that. The process requires me to talk birth control, which has to be prescribed by a doctor. My doctor was Simon, so I made an appointment making it very clear this was time sensitive. The nurse sent Simon all the information about lactation for non-pregnant mothers. He refused the information from her because (his words) 1. She is not a doctor and 2. He doesn't do that stuff. He made me wait two weeks for my appointment to tell me he reuses to help my wife and I because he doesn't do that sort of stuff. He kept saying he wasn't an expert in that topic. I am really unsure of what he is an "expert" at to be honest. I made the comment that no one in Elko is an expert at this, but can't we all come together and figure it out? Nursing a baby is a natural thing, not a life or death situation. He continued to waste my time, pretending to "read up" on it when in reality he wasn't going to help me. His response of "I don't do that" was really "I don't help gay couples in trying to both feed their baby." I was so upset that he chose to waste my time in this situation when I made it VERY clear it was a time sensitive situation and to let me know beforehand if he would refuse me. (I felt he would because of how he has treated others I know, telling them they can't do certain things because they aren't married.) They assured me it would be no big deal. The second he walked through the door he started backpedaling and refusing to help me in any way. When my wife went in the next day to discuss the awful appointment, the employees all tried to pretend it was about something else. Lying to get out of being called out on how disgraceful that office is? Not ok! I am disgusted that someone with such power to help people, refuses to do so because of their sexual orientation. I am furious that he chose to waste my time and try to come between me feeding my child. I am ashamed to have doctors like Simon in this community. This is why we go out of town. This is why people don't feel safe. How can this bigotry be overlooked? Simon is a disgusting "doctor" and helping people is NOT his priority.
