Due to the fact that I have mobility issues, four of my family members took time from work and traveled thousands of miles so we could capture five generation photos. I hired Black Pineapple Photography to capture the photos. We were to receive our digital photos approximately two to three weeks after the shoot. What I received two weeks later was an email from Liz, proprietor of Black Pineapple Photography. The email stated that my money had been refunded and the photos from our family shoot were permanently lost. WHAT? LOST? An email, not even the courtesy of a phone call or any explanation as to what had occurred. You can imagine the disappointment my family members and I experienced. Two days after the receipt of the email and after my granddaughter called Liz and complained I received a phone call with an explanation. Apparently the photographer, who took the pictures, did not change the SIM card following our shoot and shot another event over our session. Beware, as that photographer still is used by this company. There is no way to recover the photos. This error, the lost employment time, air fare, lodging and car rental expenses were great. I saw one other bad review and thought "what are the chances that happens to me" well turns out it did. I will start with the good. Emily contacted me back almost immediately after my first inquiry towards her services. I thanked her for being quick to respond and told her it was a refreshing change compared to other vendors. Emily and I quickly customized a photography package that was exactly what we needed for our big day. I should mention I am from Wisconsin and we were planning a destination wedding. My fiancé and I came to Anna Maria to book other vendors and set up an engagement session with Emily. When we got to Florida Emily texted and asked to reschedule the date as she had made other plans. We worked with it and understood things happen. We changed the date and had our session. That was in May. Emily told us that we would have our photos in about 4-6 weeks. Months past and I had to ask Emily to prepare our photos as we wanted to send out save the dates. We received those pictures on August 1. Time past and it was time to set up our phone call to finalize everything a month before our wedding. We set up the phone call and never received a call. I texted and emailed to reschedule which finally happened a week before the wedding and THE DAY BEFORE we were flying to Florida. Emily also said that she would meet us at our venue for the rehearsal to talk more. I texted her that day and she said she was unable to make it. No big deal. The day of the wedding came. Emily was very professional and a great help getting things done. She helped organize the cake cutting etc and was fun to work with. We have no complaints about how she was at the wedding itself and she was fun to be around. Emily asked how long we would be in Florida for as she wanted to send some "sneak peaks" before we left. Our two week honeymoon came and went with no pictures. I asked Emily if we could have our family photos back before Christmas so I could send them as gifts. She said that she was almost done with our entire gallery and we received only our family photos on December 9 (we were married October 8). I ordered photos off her website and received them quickly. Months went by with no further for photos. I texted and emailed with little to no response from Emily. What we did receive was her stating that she first had medical issues, then other personal issues and a friends wedding that made her too busy to finish our photos. We received another "portion" of our photos on March 16th. Emily said she would upload the rest soon. A few more months went by. I called, texted and emailed with no response. At this point we honestly believed Emily had lost our photos. We hired an attorney from Gulf Coast Legal to send Emily an Intent to Sue Letter requesting our photos or our money back. Emily delivered our photos on the last day that she had to complete them before we filed a civil lawsuit against her. She then apologized and said that she had more personal things going on. I would like to say the lack of communication was the most frustrating. We almost never got replies to asking when we would get our pictures and when we did it was a promised date that came and went with no photos. We are the first ones to understand things come up but the fact that we got married in October and didn't receive our entire gallery until May 22 and only after it was a threat to sue is unacceptable. We still have not received our album but I am writing this review anyways because I have given up thinking we will receive the contracted album and I have made one off of Shutterfly that is the same quality I expect from Emily. Please don't let her cause you as much stress, worry and tears as she has caused us and book someone (anyone) else for your wedding.
