A super fun place! It's small, but one can tell by their first steps inside that there is a lot of expansion possible in the future. Lots of artifacts from all different types of spooky stuff. Creepy dolls and toys with their own back stories and foot prints from some gargantuan creatures- Bigfoot perhaps? We may never know. But the most fun we had was listening to Steve, the owner/operator regale is with all of his adventures and how he got into the supernatural. Unfortunately for my son, Steve wasn't yet offering the nighttime tours of local places due to Covid. But had he been, I'm sure we would have jumped at the chance to go on a ghost hunt. Pictures are encouraged because you never know what we might catch in the pic. Highly recommended if you're in the area. It is off the beaten path, but hopefully some day it'll grow and get more popular. We walked in just as two people were leaving and when we were done, another group came in - it seems to be a popular place already. Good for him!

Interesting place to visit. The big foot room was the reason I went. Lovely chat with the owners. The other room got my feeling sick physically. Couldn't be in there too long, headache, the room felt overwhelming heavy, and the headache lasted for about 30 mins even after leaving. I won't go back due to that but I would say it was a very interesting place to see.

Very interesting experience. Not sure if I would go again, however, it's a good one time thing if it's a cold day or rainy in Littleton. Loved how the owner made everything an experience and let us use the ghosts detectors

I discovered this place by chance after planning a hiking trip to nearby Medoc Mountain State Park. I decided to make a detour and check it out and I'm SO glad I did! I visited a few months ago in the middle of summer and a great conversation with the owner turned me onto a whole range of other cryptid info, events and museums. I've been checking out as many as I could ever since (From Bigfoot to Mothman in Point Pleasant, WV, to the Florida Skunk Ape!). The museum is small and appears from the outside to be just an ordinary house with a few interesting yard decorations, but a trip inside is well worth it. Neat little place and a host willing to entertain

We had a great time here today. The owners are super friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and "happenings" throughout the region. It's in part of their home and it's free to go in and look around they do have some items for sale but they don't push it on you. Your free to take all the pictures you want and you will want to. They even offer complimentary bottles of cold water as it was a very hot day out. Cool quirky little place to go for curiosity sake. They have been interviewed by many news channels and magazines. They are happy to share the video clips which are interesting.

One of the spikes we got. It actually went to yellow but I sadly didn't catch it on camera

What a wonderful museum. Its not very big but it is packed full of artifacts! We were also given an EMF reader to walk around with and got a couple of spikes. The man who runs this museum is lovely. I would recommend this museum to anyone looking for something to do that you do find everywhere. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Fun! We were expecting just a 10 minute stop but stayed for an hour listening to Steve tell stories. Great evening!

The special exhibit was about bikes and the natural history portion was a weird mix of taxidermy and fake animals. A huge sized connect 4 game offers a delightful opportunity to play with hand sized discs and drop them into the slots with your partner or kid. My husband and I played several rounds of this together! Then there's the planetarium with several shows planned throughout the day. While the show was a bit pixelated for modern-day technology, it was completely fascinating and enjoyable. The program walked us through the spring sky and the constellations we could find. The program was designed with specific memory clues that were repeated a few times so that even an adult with challenged short-term memory would come away with new knowledge and tricks to recover the information again and again. Read the blip about Pathagaras and how math and music work together... then follow the sheet music and tap the colored pipes with flip-flops to play familiar songs! Y'all I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. The museum area had so much entertainment that we never had the chance to make it to the art gallery side of the building so I can't speak to that. But let me say, this was so worth it! We spent 2 & a half hours there and could have stayed for another two in the museum alone. Each one of us was sad to leave. It is apparent that the museum staff is incredibly dedicated to what they are doing there. Each person was glad to be there and was joyful that they were giving kids the opportunity to expand their imaginations. I do hope to come back again soon!

It was a way to use the water to allow for trade and as transportation. The museum has storyboards and interactive exhibits. You can learn about the birds and other wildlife. The striped bass were spawned each spring in the fresh water of the Roanoke Canal. One exhibit highlights the local paper mill. You can learn how paper is made and learn. The mill was an important employer in the community. When the railroads were built, the canal was no longer needed, and the canal was used for a way to generate power using hydroelectric energy for the mills and other industries. The Underground Railroad used the waterways as escape routes. The difficult terrain made it easier to hide and escape to freedom. It was a few miles from our AirBNB, so while we had to drive, there's a large parking lot right across the street. I'm not sure if parking is normally free, but it was on this particular Saturday. No one was monitoring the gate or could figure out how to pay, so we didn't. I *think* the sign said it was normally $5 on days they do charge or monitor. VERY reasonable. The museum itself is FREE unless you want to see an IMAX movie, which is reasonably priced. If you're into dinosaurs, plants, geology, or natural science in general, you'll enjoy yourself here, but the museum definitely adds a local flare and incorporates NC history and geography. While the museum is kid-friendly, it is not kid-focused. It is family focused and for all ages. My husband and I are child-free and had a great time. Of course, we are nerds and had science classes together in college. I do think this is a great museum for kids who are school aged and able to read well and ask questions. It is probably not the best option for toddlers or preschoolers when it comes to museums. The museum hosts birthday parties, and a group was there for that- what a fun idea! If you visit, plan to spend a morning or afternoon here- it definitely takes a few hours to see everything but not the full day.
