In 2016, I purchased a puppy from Crystal Sky Puppies after being told she was a toy Chihuahua who would weigh around 7 pounds fully grown. I made it clear to the breeder that I needed a very small dog due to back issues, and I relied on her representation when choosing this puppy. When the puppy arrived, she was only 9 weeks old and already weighed 7 pounds, which was an immediate red flag. She also did not look like a Chihuahua. Because of this, I had her DNA tested, and the results showed she was 50% Papillon and 50% Chihuahua, not a purebred toy Chihuahua as advertised. On the morning I was supposed to return her, she woke up with cherry eye, a condition the breeder didn't think was necessary to treat. She told me she had "another dog with that" and that it was "just fine." Because she would not address the medical issue, and because I didn't want to send the puppy back in that condition, I kept her. The breeder refunded part of my payment, but the core issue the misrepresentation of the dog's breed and expected size remained unresolved. While I understand the breeder states she does not guarantee adult size, a puppy who already weighs 7 pounds at 9 weeks old is clearly not a toy‑sized dog. If I had been told her actual weight at the time of sale, I would not have purchased her. Now, years later, it's clear that the dog I received is nothing like a toy Chihuahua. She weighs 25 pounds, has strong Papillon traits, and requires care and handling very different from what I was prepared for or physically able to manage. This is not the dog I was promised, not the breed I wanted, and not the size I was told to expect. I am so happy I found this website while searching for a chihuahua. Diane responded to emails and texts on the same day they were sent and when we met up she provided all the paperwork and everything went super smooth. Once I was home if I had any questions she still responded just as quick. I also purchased a second chihuahua for my mom but unfortunately it ended up not working out. Although she has a policy about this she still was able to offer me a refund. She clearly cared about the well being of the puppy. Plus when I returned that puppy he was so happy to see her so I know he was loved. Usually i only post reviews on google but I came across some negative reviews about Diane and her puppies. Obviously I can only speak on my experience with her but I just can't see how anyone could have any issues. Because of her I have the cutest little guy who is like my partner in crime, he literally goes everywhere with me and he's my 9yr old daughters best friend! I am very disappointed in this breeder. For a woman that has bred dogs for 35+ years, she is breed for Double Dapple Dachshunds. For those of you that don't know that is LETHAL.... Causes blindness, Deafness, loss of ears or limbs. It's not a genetically healthy dog. There are some instances that the dogs are healthy, but why take that chance. I bought a dog from her and she's a Double Dapple that is 1.6lbs at 11 Weeks for a MINI..... That is too small for a mini. I did take the dog and it was a $1000 Rescue. My heart breaks for this little girl. And before you ask... I DID ask the right questions before I bought her, but it was only after I inquired again when I left did I get the right answer. read more

Buyer Beware!!!!! My husband and I got a Yorkie from this breeder, and although we were skeptical because he just didn't seem right, we took him anyway. Brought him to our vet and not only did he have crawling ear mites with a severe secondary ear infection, but he was on the verge of malnutrition, had issues with his hind legs, was doing this cowering ground crawl thing, and had a skin condition. When I asked the breeder for her vet information so we could call and find out why the paperwork she had provided said he was healthy, she sent me a well puppy document from her vet, which included our dog's name. My vet's office contacted her vet's office and although they advised the signature of their vet seemed legitimate, they advised they had never even seen our dog, that they do not do well puppy checks unless the dog will be shipped, and that they had not even seen this breeder on the date listed on the paperwork she provided us. So in short, the paperwork appears to be a forgery. Fortunately, when we went back for a recheck this last week our vet was very pleased, saying our fur baby looked like a completely different dog than what she first saw. His coat looks better, his ear mites are gone, he's gained a little weight, he's walking better, and he's got more spunk. We are still working on the secondary ear infection. The breeder did provide us the option to return him for a refund, but our hearts would not allow us to put him back in that situation, especially after being told we literally rescued this cutie. The breeder did reimburse a portion of our money, but probably should have reimbursed the entire amount. I am still considering filing a complaint with the licensing board, as I feel this woman should not be breeding. read more
