My son ordered the fresh salmon, egg and cheese crepe This was solid. I got the mushroom, bacon bits and egg crepe. I had over cheesed on all the past meals, it was 100 degrees and I needed something light. This hit the spot, especially if you love button mushrooms. This creperie is just off of Annecy's old town center. The interior of the restaurant is quintessentially French with just a few tables and a charming rustic French stone cottage vibe that goes right along with the entire Annecy experience. The Sourise (ham, emmenthal, onion, egg) was absolutely perfect. Paired of course with un cafe (coffee), it made for the perfect breakfast followed by the sweet crepe dusted with fine sugar. If you're looking for a tourist spot, this isn't it. It's for the locals, and French is the only language spoken here. Which is exactly why it's worth the effort. The owner was kind and patient with our lack of fluency and sometimes poor pronunciation. After you leave this charming creperie, take a walk around stunning Lake Annecy and the old town center.

The woman who took our order was somewhat curt and we never did get the water we asked for. And we couldn't pay with our American Visa card. But the food was excellent as well as interesting, and the coffee... Best so far in France in a week of trying. We ordered cappuccino and what came (at the end of the meal) was something with whipped cream and a dash of cocoa powder in lieu of frothed milk. I shrugged at it, stirred it up, and proceeded to gulp it down, unable to take it slow. It had the strong flavor of French coffees without the bitterness or minuscule serving size and the smoothness of a Starbucks drink without their trademark overwhelming sweet/rich combination or the feeling of having traded away a piece of your soul... Anyway. It was GOOD. The most exciting moment was when my plate of apple-y crepes was flambé'd right in front of me. High proof alcohol lit on fire and poured in one smooth motion. I momentarily feared for my lap, but the server had probably done this about a zillion times before and there was no mishap. My comical reaction evidently amused the guest at the neighboring table because when his identical dish received the same treatment, he favored us with a re-enactment of it.
