Last week I was having some really bad lower back and leg pain so I called on a Friday morning asking (almost in tears) if they had any time available that day. They, much to my delight, took me at noon. Dr. Godfrey and his staff are super nice and he spent a good deal of time talking to me about my pain before laying a hand on me. He adjusted the heck out of my spine and neck and also applied heat and electro stimulation. Less than 24 hours later I was feeling well enough to go ahead with my weekend plans which included walking 7 or so miles in Manhattan. I went back for a follow up and again, awesome service. I had been going to a chiro office in town for many years but as the years went on, the doctors dwindled to just one (the bad one) so I'm grateful to have found Dr. Godfrey. I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

In the past, I had tried physical therapy, acupuncture, and had countless doctors/tests/prescriptions- all which helped for some time, but didn't find or cure the problem. Modern Chiropractic proved my dad right that posture is important- and that years spent with my nose in a book had caused damage in the curve of my neck. I have definitely had good and bad days since starting my visits, but the doctors are really patient and helpful- and even understanding when a killer bad headache has me crying in the waiting room. I have seen and felt an improvement over all and am hopeful that the headaches might be banished good. The women at the front desk are also awesome- they are friendly and welcoming, and make it a comfortable place where you feel valued. They are also very understanding when it comes to scheduling changes and they have a text service where you can contact them- which I just love as my schedule is never the same. Would definitely recommend this place!! :)

I checked my blood pressure on the morning of 12/19/2025 and found it to be 218 over 127. I drove…read moreup to UConn Medical Center, where I had some bloodwork done. I had a minor stroke a while back, so I try to keep an eye on it. They wanted to admit me, but I had to be home to feed my mother and my cats, so I chose to go back home. After I fed my mother and my cats, I was eating when the phone rang. I answered it, and it was a Doctor from John Dempsey Medical Center (UConn). He told me that the results came back from the bloodwork tests, which showed many abnormalities. He told me to return immediately to the hospital as I was having an "acute kidney failure" that could, along with the high blood pressure, cause a major heart attack. He said I needed to be admitted as soon as possible. As soon as I finished my supper, I hopped into the car and drove back to the hospital, and signed in again. The blood pressure was up over 200 again, so I waited in the waiting room until they could find a bed. I have very bad discs in my lower back. I have passed out from the pain because of them. After more than an hour passed, my back was acting up. I had no choice but to ask when the bed would be available. I was told it would be over 3 hours. I told the lady in the ER that I could not sit up for that length of time because of my back discs. She told me that there are no beds or gurneys available in the entire hospital that I could use while I waited. She told me that if I didn't like it, I could always go home. That is what I did. If I passed out from the pain from my discs, they would have let me stay on the floor for over 3 hours until they found a bed. That is completely unacceptable and unprofessional for any medical facility. John Dempsey is supposed to be a crown jewel as far as medical facilities here in Connecticut, but I found it to be a lump of coal. Needless to write, I won't be going back again. I advise others to find a better place.

My review goes to 3 stars because I noticed a buprenophine patch was in my list of medications. Nobody would remove it. I called the patient portal help desk. I used the portal to message Dr Oniyuke APRN. She says she can't remove it. I ended up in the ER 5/24/2026 due to a side effect from a pain medication a new provider prescribed for ongoing heaviness where my decompression fusion was. They treated me like a junkie. I had a headache, vertigo, nausea and high BP164/99. They gave me nausea med in an IV. The paperwork in the car on the way home, showed that stupid patch at the top of my medication list. This is what I was trying to avoid. No department would listen to me. I finally wrote a bad review and some lady called. She didn't care how I was doing. She cared about the review. Yale walk in clinic in Manchester figured out I was sick from the waxy coating on the beads inside the pain medicine capsule! They researched the medication. They did NOT have that patch in my EPIC medication list. UCONN has finally removed it. Writing a crappy review will be the first thing I do from now on. It's all they care about. I remember the doctor whose name I won't reveal saying, "we can only give you Tylenol". I said I have pain medication. He replied with, "you're not suppose to be in 2 pain clinics." I'm not. Your hospital refused to update my meds. That made me so angry. They lost stars for refusing to listen to a patient that's had several surgeries there. They only care to protect the hospital. No integrity. Deleting a medication should not have taken 5 months. What if I arrived unconscious?

I was so glad to experience this! The facility is very clean, the staff was super helpful and I left feeling amazing. After a brief orientation and a shower, you climb into your own personal float pod (naked). Once I found my comfort, I settled in. About halfway thru, I even shut the light off for an even more immersive experience. I loved it! Although the price point makes this a bit prohibitive for me, I'll stay tuned for deals so that I can do this again and bring hubby with me! Def recommend!
