Hub train station. Love it or hate it but I find myself stopping in often. Great stop for local theater and quick eats. Music and some last minute party supplies. I honestly like to get off here to go to Wrigley Field just I could start at the beginning of the gauntlet of themed bars starting two blocks North on Clark. Addison just gets overwhelming during games and events. Late nights can sometimes be a fright. Gets a bit like Gremlins after midnight. But the police are responsive just being next to the Addison station.

"Geez, I don't know what color to pick! Brown is so 2020 and I hate the way Purple looks on me, OMG! Let's go with Red!" Belmont station has you covered. It's a decent place to transfer, embark or disembark, whether you're into the whole bark thing or are just barking mad. It's a plain station, but more modern. It has an elevator, which may or may not have a person just hanging out in there for the whole night in their own mumbley world while they're on some unknown high (eek!). Stairs look relatively clean and climbable. Platforms are nice enough. I feel like it should get an extra star for the area and somewhat sleek feel, but Belmont just isn't doing it for me. It just is and feels as-is, neither horrible nor spectacular.

Omg it's raining CTAs and DGOs right now, it's making my dylsexia come out really dab! CTA Belmont is kind of a scary place. This is the stop where you get off if you're gay on a Friday or Saturday night - or perhaps even if you're straight and want to have some fun. If you're bisexual then I guess you can just go anywhere you want. Anyway there are lots of drug dealers and freaky people hanging out under this bridge and nearby and when you get off the train or park nearby you're going to probably encounter them especially at night. In the daytime it's a little bit more family-friendly. On the plus side it's good to have a stop right next to where all the action is, and I do like some of the cool sculptures that they have around here which really gives this station some serious character.

Cool scenes from The Brown line to Belmont. Clean and lots of seats at noon. Get the best seats in the house and people watch into people's back yards...ha! Yes, I heart alleys and industrial buildings.

I'm really not a huge fan of this stop. It's always swamped and I always feel like there is one purple line for every 15 brown lines. This infuriated me when I lived in Evanston. Is it me or does it always smell like urine on the platform?!?

Spacious and relatively clean. Easy access from red line to brown line without getting off the platform.

It's no fun having your car in the shop and being on the redline from the south end through the north end at rush hour. My tip: avoid it.

The Belmont stop is my preferred stop for switching between Brown and Red (and Purple, if I happen to need that one).

And every time I go home, the damn thing is always waiting around the corner for me to leave so that it can inevitably make me walk. Very often, several will show up at once to add salt to your wound. I like the fact that it's OWL so you can catch it anytime. However, I have hitchhiked to a bar once because this damn thing took over 30 minutes to come. I used to like this bus. I'm not sure if it's traffic or the hordes of ugly commuters on this bus, but it's pretty annoying these days. It's all relative: for CTA buses, this one actually is pretty swift. Using ideal standards, the whole Chicago transit system is pretty bad, so it's hard to say. But to people that give this bus 1 star, try catching a bus in Detroit.

Bonus points for Clarence the driver who lets be bring my "precious" morning latte on board provided I bring him a hot cocoa. Addison is accessible, has ample digital signage, and is easy to navigate. It is also wider than average for an 'L' station and is relatively clean, especially given how many people pass through. This amount of foot traffic is, however, its undoing. When there's a Cubs game or another event at Wrigley, Addison proves to be ill-equipped for the sheer volume of people. Yes, there is staff present to help manage crowds, but a packed platform is suboptimal for multiple reasons, especially safety. I appreciate that due to the CTA's setup, one cannot simply wish a wider station into existence. It may be possible, but it would be extraordinarily capital-intensive. That said, CTA-Addison gets the job done very well outside of Wrigley events, and passably during them.

I boarded the redline at Addison for year and years to get downtown for my previous job, so this…read morereview is long overdue. This train stop is very well kept, and I'm sure it's location to Wrigley Field has a lot to do with that. There are two escalators (granted -- one is usually down), an elevator, and a HUGE platform so there is plenty of space to spread out. There is a woman who works here every morning who is as sweet as can be and always greets us regulars with a smile. The redline is not always the safest of trains, but it sure can get you downtown faster than the brown! If you're in town exploring the city or going to a Cubs game, nothing is more convenient than hopping off at Addison as the stop just steps from the field. If you live in the neighborhood, this can definitely be a downside. On game nights, the streets are flooded with fans and vendors. The trains from downtown back up to Wrigley are packed with fans going to the games in addition to the regulars heading home from work. It can definitely add some extra time getting home, which is something to keep in mind during the summer months. Overall, I always feel safe at this stop, the employees are friendly, it's well maintained, and the trains are *usually* on time!

I can't comment on washroom facilities because I didn't need to use them, so I didn't look. Maybe next time, if the train is delayed. . . Also, the platform is not that wide so every time a fast train comes blasting by, you can feel the wind trying to push you along, so make sure you are on solid ground! Also, it seems like this stop is always crowded, and the platform is not big enough to hold everyone without feeling like you're a sardine stuck in a can.
