Basque Burnt Cheesecake
Sel Z.

They're known for chiffon cakes, but they offer other baked goods as well such as the basque burnt cheesecake (available as a whole cake or by the slice), banana bread, and burnt madeleines (come in mini, regular, and large sizes). Their basque burnt cheesecakes come in a variety of different unique flavours: . Original with Maldon Sea Salt . Hojicha with Black Sesame . Ruby Chocolate with Fresh Raspberry Compote . Coconut with Mango Puree This bakery is clean, bright, and cozy inside. Good customer service.

A cute little bakery that serves drinks and baked goods. You can also pre-order ahead of time to reserve full cakes. The basque burnt cheescake was good - the flavors were mild and played well with each other.

Cuckoo cakery is a great bakery along the waterfront - a great addition to the area. The owner is pretty serious about using great quality ingredients which warrant the high price point. Finance couple turned bakers is pretty impressive! This cheesecake is priced at $20 but I used Too Good to Go app to snag an incredibl deal. I loved the taste and how light and airy the cheesecake felt. It brought back some fond memories of Darling's cheesecake in Philadelphia. I can't wait to taste their chiffon cakes which look so good in the pics. Overall, I loved speaking to the owner and enjoyed eating the thinnest slice so that I can eat a little for a long time. Eating that little is a big deal for someone like me with a huge sweet tooth!

Cutest little coffee & bakery tucked inside the Bayside Condos strip down by the Waterfront, just east along the lake.

The place is bright and oh so clean! Spotless is a word I would rarely apply to restaurants and such, but this place was spotless. Service was efficient and quick. I got a "Russian Chocolate Tale" and an Americano. The coffee was good, a sort of standard blend, not bitter, smooth. The Tale was chocolate mousse on top of a chocolate cookie covered by a layer of vanilla-ish mousse-ish and some pink stuff. (Can you tell I'm not a desserts expert?) Both mousses were delicate and not too sweet, but I got nothing from the outer pink layer. Their selection is an amazing array of standard Western European pastries and desserts. And a Dubai chocolate bar in the $30 adjacent area if you feel like being trendy. Overall, another fine addition to the many great bakeries and dessert places on the Danforth.

I don't remember his name but I'll always remember him running down the Danforth yelling "Ma'am! You forgot this!" and there in his hand was my hair clip which had rolled under the table. Visited this cute little Filipino bake shop nestled in shops at don mills…read more They sell Filipino sweet treats and baked goods. Pandesal, cake slices, coffee, cookies, cheesecakes, and a small select option of savoury food as well. For baked goods I walked out with: - Ube cheesecake: it was moist, Ube packed flavour with a hint of creaminess from the cheese. Enjoyed it. And read good reviews about it prior to ordering it so that's why I chose it :) - Ube crinkle cookies: a basic Ube crinkle cookie, not too sweet (which is great) and powdered with sugar on the outside. Ube flavour is mild not too overpowering, moist and fluffy cookie. Would recommend as well! - Spicy chicken empanada- buttery crust, soft and falls apart because the crust is so buttery!! Stuffing was generous, chicken flavourful but I didn't find the inside spicy. One is enough for one sitting. I would like to try other flavours as well. Service - friendly. Fast. Efficient. $$- I would say some of the items are quite pricey for what you get e.g. turon for $5, cake + coffee slice for $10-12, I think that I've found other bakeries to be a little more cost friendly. But assuming because this one is more franchised, Perhaps why prices are higher (?) Would overall recommend this place especially if you'd like to share Filipino sweets culture/food. They do sell cakes and party platters of desserts which is also a bonus. Would recommend to try!

The aesthetic and the attention to detail when it comes to these desserts flawless, and exceptional. I enjoyed every single bite of my dessert. It was fluffy and it melted in my mouth, and I wish I could just eat my screen right now just looking at it lol. For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. They also brought the food to our table, including the drinks. I 100% would go back to this location.

There are two line ups - one for pre paid orders and one if you want to order then and there. Some things are daily specials so it really depends what you're looking for. We had the coconut pandas cookie - the Cooke is baked well with great texture. The cookie is crispy and the coconut pandan jelly adds a nice coconut flavor. There's a caramel that adds a sweetness to it. Would definitely try more cookies again. We also got a variety of cake cups. The nice think about cake cups is they're all moist - no dry cakes here! Pistachio honey - reminded me of a baklava - little heavy on the honey side that overpowered the pistachios but still pretty good. Not bad but was hoping for strong pistachio - 4/5. If you like baklava, you'll like this more than me. Coffee crunch - really great coffee flavor - nice and bold. The slight bitterness of the coffee really helps temper the sweetness of the other ingredients. A really good one for coffee lovers - 5/5. Chestnut - good chestnut flavor. Again this one had a good balance of sweetness with chestnut flavor. 5/5. Hojicha vanilla - a really good take on a japanese tea flavored cake. Has a really nice delicate flavor of tea with the slight bitterness tempering the sweetness . 5/5. Price: it's pricey so this isn't your everyday treat but it is amazing which will wow anyone you want to impress with flavor and display.

As I commute from the Durham region on weekdays, Friday is the only day that opens later time (7:30), and I finally got the chance to try the food on a Friday afternoon! I bought - Olive loaf - Croissant (plain)] - Fig tart - Pear tart - Pâté en croute The olive loaf had a loooot of olives in it. It tastes great by itself, but I dipped it in good olive oil and balsamic. Great!!! The croissant was light, airy, and flaky. Nice butter flavor follows the bite. Fig tart and pear tart had a lot of fruits in them, not too sweet, which I appreciated. They do not cover the taste up with cream fillings and extract the ingredients' character and best texture/flavors/tastes. Also had a good buttery kick! Pate en croute has a lovely looking. The color of cranberries and pistachio makes it look festive & gorgeous. This savory food comes with slices of pickles which had a naturally sour, gentle flavor, which gave it a refreshing spike. They had a lot of wines as well, if you are a wine lover, you want to check this place out. They had beers as well for a beer lover like me :) Of course, I got a can of IPA from Merit brewery in Hamilton. I have never seen it before at any LCBO around here, excited! I hope to have a chance to visit here again sometime soon!
