Shirini Sara Pastry House is located at Leslie and York Mills in a plaza with plenty of free parking. It's great for both the sit-down coffee chat and the on-the-go sweets takeout. Its modern interior, illuminated and clean, sets the stage for a delightful pastry experience. Service is friendly and attentive. Their 6-inch cakes are a steal at $34.99 (tax included, "Happy Birthday" writing no extra charge). This visit, I picked up a mocha cake. It's mocha cream with walnut bits. The fluffiness was spot on and the flavour and texture was exquisite. Will I be back? Absolutely. Shirini Sara, my co-workers are headed your way too.

Came back to this bakery to get a cake for a birthday. We got the pistachio cake - ordering was quick and easy, cake was ready as per their time. The pistachio cake had a nice height and simplistic design but the attention to minor details really makes it nice to look at. The cake on the inside is nice and fluffy, the pistachio cream is airy and sweet. Love the crushed pistachios in between layers. Price: Definitely more expensive than most other bakeries but worth it!

Located in the Dollarama Plaza just north of York Mills and former site of the Second Cup. This is a very nice replacement and addition to the neighbourhood. There is plenty of parking out front and if it gets busy, there is also parking out back. I was warmly greeted by Ali when I stepped in and was amazed with the assortment (cakes/ pastries and nuts) She took the time to explain each one and I settled with their signature pistachio croissant paired with a perfectly crafted latte. The croissant was perfect, nice and light and buttery with a generous filling of pistachio paste that is not overly sweet allowing the nut to be showcased! Looking forward to trying out the many other selections on offer

The Persian new year was ushered in recently and what better to have cake. What appears to be a pistachio cake. A high quality yet simple in construction was this dessert. It was light and not overbearing. Delicious if you ask me. I can only comment on this one product. If I revisit Toronto I'll have to sample other goodies here. Happy Nowruz everybody!

If you're looking for a good light cake that's not overly sweet, this is it! I look forward to birthdays just so I can pick up a cake here. The pistachio cake is my favourite! The staff is also very lovely. They often have a few different cakes available for walk-in as well as pastries.

Great place to buy Persian style sweets. I found Shirini Sara cake in many famous supermarkets in Toronto like Loblaws and Yummy Market.

My favourite though, has to be the classic, butter croissant. I picked up a strawberry short cake for a family dinner, and oh my gosh, it was so yummy. The cake was made out of layers of chiffon cake (super light and airy) and a delicious whipped cream with strawberries pieces nestled between the layers. I've only done take out there, but they do have a small area with seating, including space outdoors for warmer months. The service is good, staff are friendly and efficient. Even if there's a line, you're not really waiting that long. The location is easy to get to from Finch Station, but if you're traveling by car, parking may be a bit tough to find, though there is street parking and a paid lot a couple blocks further north by the TTC lot.

The space is not big but there some limited seating. The display cases are at the far end of the store and if there is a lineup it will be hard to see what is available unless you get closer to the cash area and if this is your first time here and don't know what is available it might take a bit to decide. The coveted Dubai Chewy cookie sits next to the cash area. You can get a box of 4 or singles. We got a box of 4, with tax....just over 27 bucks. Was it worth it? I would say YES! The coating was soft and chewy with a generous amount of filling with the kataifi giving a nice crunch. This is definitely a treat.

The online ordering process is smooth and convenient, and the final product genuinely impresses. I'm taking one point off only because it was impossible to reach someone by phone. Communication is email only, which works, but it does feel a bit arms length and takes away from the personal touch you'd expect from a boutique bakery. A quick call option would elevate the whole experience. That said, the pastries and cakes are excellent, and I'd happily order again. Enjoy-Zuk.

The Duo cake is great, not too sweet, and I also learned from this site that it's gluten-free too. They actually have good gluten-free options, given one of my family members is celiac and we do get cakes from here for her. I think at this point I've tried all the cakes on their menu. The pistachio macaron was also good, as expected. The bread is no longer discounted like before, after 7pm it used to be half price I think. It's been like this for a while now, but it's buy one get one half off, which is a bummer since I can't eat that much bread to make it worth it. As much as I do like their cakes and such, I wish they would add more savoury items and have some café lunch options too.

We stopped by a couple times while in Toronto and while we were impressed initially, realized there were much better elsewhere. I nabbed the last pineapple bun with butter since it seemed highly coveted, as well as a normal pineapple bun. The pineapple bun has great flavor but tended to be a little dry. The butter helped a lot, but the bun without butter lacked the moisture - although maybe it was because we didn't buy it fresh in the morning? The trend with the pineapple bun does seem to be that the bread itself is a little dry but the ones with fillings, such as chasiu or butter, gives it the moisture it needs. The egg tarts were standard. Not bad but nothing special - and not something I would come back for. I also got a wife pastry that was not very good. Price wise, it's definitely a little steep. But it may be worth to not having to drive in poor weather to get to Markham or Richmond Hill. I do recommend coming in the morning while the pastries and buns are still fresh - it does seem to be better during the day versus at night.
