Love the shop itself to sit in and indulge in a treat. It's very lovely, nicely lit and there was a constant flow of traffic that gave it a nice buzz. Coffee was good. I ordered a cake from Shirinisara for my daughter's first birthday and had clearly requested that her name and the number "1" be included on the cake. Communication before pickup was fine, and the lady was responsive over email. However, when we received the cake, we were extremely disappointed to see that neither the name nor the number 1 was on the cake. For a first birthday, these details matter a lot. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what was most upsetting was the lack of accountability afterward. When we emailed the bakery to inform them of the issue, we received no response at all. Completely ghosting a customer after a mistake is not acceptable customer service. I paid $140 for the cake, and we live in Kitchener, so we even had to specially arrange for someone to pick it up. The entire experience was very sad and stressful on an important day for our family. Unfortunately, this experience has cost them a loyal customer. I hope they take feedback seriously and improve their customer service going forward. read more

Came back to this bakery to get a cake for a birthday. We got the pistachio cake - ordering was quick and easy, cake was ready as per their time. The pistachio cake had a nice height and simplistic design but the attention to minor details really makes it nice to look at. The cake on the inside is nice and fluffy, the pistachio cream is airy and sweet. Love the crushed pistachios in between layers. Located in the Dollarama Plaza just north of York Mills and former site of the Second Cup. This is a very nice replacement and addition to the neighbourhood. There is plenty of parking out front and if it gets busy, there is also parking out back. I was warmly greeted by Ali when I stepped in and was amazed with the assortment (cakes/ pastries and nuts) She took the time to explain each one and I settled with their signature pistachio croissant paired with a perfectly crafted latte. The croissant was perfect, nice and light and buttery with a generous filling of pistachio paste that is not overly sweet allowing the nut to be showcased! Shirinisara is a north Toronto hidden gem. The new location by the longstanding establishment hits all the right notes and is a very welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The patisserie is well known for a mix of classic and innovative offerings with their pistachio cream cake serving as the jewel of the crown. Other classics such as the wafter thin butter cookies and the very fresh almond croissants act as the perfect companion to the selection of hot drink offerings. Ordered the chocolate orange cake for christmas as me and my family tried the slices and they were so good however after we were looking forward to the same from our "Chocolate Orange" cake which we paid $55.00 for, it was truly a disappointment that nobody wanted to have a 2nd slice even days after. I'm very disappointed as whenever I call and speak to the MALE Persian owner, he can't help as pretends he doesn't understand me. I have an email conversation of my order 10 days before Christmas so there really is NO rationale as to why the cake inside was different and more of a Fruit Flan instead of a chiffon. The food is excellent, but, the service is not for everyone. I tried to give this places 3 chances, but, unfortunately, I left disappointed each time. First time: Went close to Persian new year, long line up understandable, but, the lady serving the cake handled all the cakes with her bare hands which felt a bit unhygienic. Second time: Was the only customer helped by older gentleman who I presume is the owner. Gave stern looks at me and made a big deal out of it every time I asked a question. When other customers come in, you just become dirt on the floor to him, body language is completely different if you're part of their social bubble, they get greeted warmly, given patience, care, and attention. Third time: Was the second customer to show up, I waited patiently in line while the owner finished serving the customer ahead of me. He then purposely looked past me and tried REALLY hard not to make eye contact with me. He then waved over to the person who just entered the store to squeeze in front of me and blocked me with his hand without taking a look at me and not explaining a single thing. He helped that person and when he finished a flood of people came in, he walked away proceeding to help other people and let another 2 people cut in front of me. I was right up against the display case so there's no reason to not think I'm in line. I have no idea what I have done to offend him as I always tried to keep a smile on my face, speak in polite tone, and give patience. I came to this place for my wife because she liked the desserts and I tried very hard to give it a chance. But, I cannot tolerate such a chasm of treatment of customers, I almost feel like I've insulted them by eating their food as if I wasn't supposed to be the one buying it. They used to have another branch in Richmond Hill which I wasn't very satisfied with since their pastries weren't as fresh due to lower demand, so they closed that branch. The Shirini Sara in North York, however, never fails to satisfy. The owner was very nice to us when we went in, they have great customer service, and they design their custom cakes exceptionally fast! I ordered a custom chocolate hazelnut cake and it was ready within an hour. Some of my favourite orders from them is the mixed fruit cake -- it has a mix of strawberries & pineapples. My cake was extremely fresh and the cream was light, airy, and not too sweet. They decorate them nicely too. I also love their "Shirini Yazdi." They are very fresh and authentic, and the cardamom is so aromatic. Definitely recommend. Their Naan Khamei and pistachio and chocolate rolettes are also excellent, although I personally find their pistachio cakes & pastries to be too heavy. I would also recommend you call them to figure out all their cake flavours before you custom order. Iranian Bakery. They moved to a new location next to the dollarama. It's much larger with a seating area. The swiss rolls here is absolutely delicious. Multiple flavours available first come first serve, if you want to have access to the best selection, you should go earlier in the day. If you go end of day, it's very common that they will sell out of their most popular items. I highly recommend trying their swiss rolls, pistachio and mocha walnut. I tried the other flavours they were not as good. Each slice is $2.60. I would skip the loaf bread, it was pricey and not that special tbh. Their swiss rolls is definitely the best, soft and creamy. I've yet to try their cakes. The customer service there is not great, nothing is labeled and you have to know what the flavours are by heart. I've now used to what the flavours are but during the first few visits i asked and the staff (i think he's the owner) was annoyed. There is another lady who speaks great english that works there and she was really nice and explains how to order and happy to answer any questions. read more

was not sure if this place was still open because it seems they no longer have a website and their Instragram/social medias are not up to date. However I called in to order a pistachio cake and someone did pick up and take my order (yay!). Their cakes are very light, kind of reminds me of chinese fruit cake where the cake itself is airy and moist, not too sweet. The fresh cream further adds to the lightness of the cake. And the flavours for cakes just come from the natural fruit or nut itself (in this case some pistachios were mixed into the filling.) I can see how some people don't ike the flavour as it might be too subtle, however I appreciate the natural flavour instead of using concentrated extracts and artificial flavourings. You can tell that the type of pistachio they use is the higher quality type, bright green colour, very fragrant and fresh. Overall I know this isn't the type of cake everyone would love but it is great for those who don't like a rich, buttery type of cake and instead want something more lightly sweetened. read more

Cream puffs!! I dropped in to see what they sell and whether there is anything that I would like to buy. The cream puffs looked fresh and inviting and I picked up three. They were good and better than much of what is sold in this city. I am not giving it 5/5, however, because comparing theirs to Garni's I felt Garni has the sweeter and denser cream puffs. As good as Shirini Sara's was, Garni's is even better. Shirini Sara also has eclairs, biscottis, what looked like pound cake, confectionary, a selection of teas and juices. I also picked up a bottle of juice. The two guys at the counter were extremely polite and helpful. They have their 'thank-you's down. What I remarked on was how clean the store is. Bought their cake from a grocery store. Berry cake: has 4 berries in it!! What the hell?? Honestly I expected more. I bought this cake twice - same thing! Honestly the cake is good for a super light angel cake, super soft and moist. The cream in between is real butter and has a good taste without being over powerful. The berries are centred inside the cake and there is seriously none. The top gel film of the cake needs to be removed as it kills the cream taste on top. I walked in here because I had lunch near by and wanted something for dessert after dinner that night. It's more of a commercial bakery than a walk in one. The front of the store is very small and the back was huge and very busy. They had all kinds of pastries the only one I recognized was the baklava. I ended up ordering what the man behind the counter suggested after he got off the phone. When we tried the cake it was interesting. It tasted like rose water, very strong rose water. I could finish the whole slice and the half I ate was delicious. My partner devoured the whole thing.
