The counter top is the front of an old ford, the table tops have engineering plan/ motor mappy looking thing under glass, they have a map of the Adelaide hills framed on the wall which looked to me, with the aid of a white board marker is used for motorists to get there where-abouts. The outdoor dining area is really Pretty while the inside dining is very much setup as a motor enthusiast shed, come man cave, come quaint cafe and it totally works!! The coffee and food was really good to-boot (? Is that the right word, not sure... But you get the idea). The Throttle Shed has that tucked away feeling but it's actually not very far off Main North Road at all. They seem to have their regulars as others that came in to the cafe all seemed quite familiar with each other which just added to the overall pleasantness. My husband and I were really glad we stopped to check this place out. Ps. They also appear to be open every day except Tuesdays. (They were even open on Christmas Day according to the signage we saw).

Second time here, this time had breakfast and couldn't fault the visit. A few people in the cafe for breakfast but speed of food delivery was on par with every other cafe, perhaps faster than some. The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly and efficient. If I had a complain, it's the atmosphere of the place. It a little cold. Like dining in a doctor's surgery waiting room. If it felt just a little more cosy then I'd go to 4 stars. But not without a bit of an update to decor.

We stumbled upon this place by accident, drove past it and thought it looked like they may sell decent coffee, so we made a U-turn and drove back. And what a creative name: One White Kite. They decorated their cafe window accordingly, a white kite in front of a white background. Pretty cool methinks. They sell very good coffee, sandwiches and some patisserie. Apart from that, there's also a little area dedicated to gift ideas such as books, mugs or keychains. The interior decor is lovely and so are staff that work here. If I'm ever back in remote Kapunda, I'll definitely get my coffee from here.

Quite large, made from wonderful pastry with a tasty filling of vegetables and large pieces of tender chicken. Accompanying the pie was a beautiful salad of mixed lettuce with a few surprises like halved tiny tomatoes, pieces of tender young cucumber and olives with a very tasty dressing. The waitress/cook was friendly and very capable and made the best coffee. Sadly none of us had room for a dessert from the selection. Importantly though they're one of the few places open on public holidays who do all day breakfast. I was there late - around 3pm when they close at 4 - after a very late New Years party. They had unfortunately run out of the beans for a fantastic sounding Moroccan breakfast, so I went for the big breakfast. The price difference was on the house, which sets the tone for this place - they care about their customers. The food is very obviously good quality, and while the breakfast was more than large enough, the quality is what really stood out. With the exception of a pre-processed hash brown, every piece was perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. A final stand-out are the staff. This is how staff at every cafe should be - energetic, smiling and super friendly. I'll definitely be back whenever I want to treat myself :)

And each time we excitedly thought they may be open again but alas no! How on earth do we manage to get on a bus tour as we are driving thru ,not staying anywhere to be able to access a bus group ? I used to buy quite a few gifts there,it was my main source of presents for families and friends back East and for here in Kalgoorlie .please reconsider opening ,at least if we made a phone call to you while crossing the Eyre HWY and you could let us come in to purchase the goods and relax awhile?
