Excellent, great food - perfect atmosphere, even if I have to make a small remark for the position…read moreof the table which was not the best one (corridor). The restaurant was actually full of people I have to admit. Staff is very professional and provides lot of gods hints. I wish to be back soon.

Six of us went here to celebrate a colleague's birthday. This is considered to be one of the…read morebetter restaurants not just in the area, the nearby city of Mons included. I have to say first that it is more expensive than your average restaurant (although I find eating out in Belgium more expensive than just across the border in France or Germany). Since the Belgian heat wave was upon us, we sat outside on the patio as everybody else did that day for lunch. And there were several people there. (Inside was empty but had a/c so perhaps indoors would have been better.) I'm not much of a food critic but I know what I like. My main course was the lamb brochette and it was fantastic. (I really forgot what I had for a starter after only a week. Old age must be setting in.) You can find the complete menu on the restaurant's webpage - www.lefaitout.be The best bet would be to order a menu, which goes for just a few Euros under 40. Overall, it's a very pleasant and professionally run establishment. The food, in my opinion and those with me, was excellent. Oh, they also have their own house beer! Always a plus!!

I had the menu and started with the carpaccio which was delicious. Next came la brochette de bœuf and it was amazing. I like my steak on the rare side and they prepared it and seasoned exactly as I like it. I find that many times restaurants over cook their beef. Last came the créme brûlée and my wife and I both agree it was the best we've ever had. The prices are on the high side but at L'Effet Boeuf you get what you pay for!

The menu was both in English and French, and our waitress spoke a little bit of English as well. The meal I ordered was an appetizer of lobster raviolis in a shellfish sauce, and my entree was a steak and onion kabob with a 3-cheese sauce. I enjoyed it a lot. My one problem with this place was how wildly overpriced the food was. For my appetizer, I received 3 lobster raviolis and it cost 16 Euros. The steak and onion kabob, while delicious, was almost 30 Euros. Including my meal and my girlfriend's, plus we both had a glass of wine, it came out to 98 Euros for lunch. That is the only bad part about it. If you don't mind forking over some money, this is a very nice place to eat.
