After passing this cukiernia on many tram rides, I finally found time to stop by. Cukiernia Wadowice is known for claiming to produce the most authentic 'kremówki', Pope John Paul II's favorite cake. Although this time I opted for a more bready cake, I have had their kremowki before and can confirm they are quite tasty!
There are a ton of cakes to choose from, so take your time deciding, but step aside for the locals who know exactly what they want ;) Service moves fast but the women behind the counter will explain to you what each cake is if you ask. Many people take to-go boxes but there is plenty of seating available in house. I would recommend grabbing a bar seat at the front where you can people watch on a busy Kraków intersection.
I ordered a cappuccino which paired perfectly with a walnut, bread-loaf cake.
The interior is well decorated with a cheery pink theme. Although service could be a tad friendlier, stopping by for coffee and a bit of sugar will certainly brighten your day :) read more
