I only mention this because if there were any signs telling me how to get service here, I probably couldn't read them at this time. I am giving one star only because you cannot give zero. I entered the cafe/bar area not knowing that the seating around the corner in the courtyard was where they serve you. There is seating within the cafe/bar area, but I guess that isn't for "unwelcome tourists" like me. My friend and I were ignored for a while by the apparent two member staff as they continued what sounded like a chat. Finally, they turned to us and asked in English if we had any questions. I nicely requested the water and coffee. Quite rudely, I was told that service was out in the courtyard and that "this is not a shopping mall." We apologized and headed into the courtyard where we sat for a little discussing the rudeness of the staff and looking for a waiter. About the time we decided not to give them any of our business, the "not a shopping mall" staff member finally came out to take our order. We told him that we are just leaving.... I MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I've been to quite a few places now in this wonderful country and have not had a single rude experience until here. There are much friendlier establishments not too far away. The only reason I even headed in the direction of this cafe was because I spotted, from a Porta Nigra window, a bunch of empty picnic tables in the shaded courtyard. Looked like an inviting place to take a break after climbing the stairs in Porta Nigra.
