Jaden helped me at the register and was so kind because I was like a fish out of water. He, in the 90 something degree weather, came out and tried to troubleshoot what was going on with my car and determined my battery was dead and that I was in need of a new alternator. When I say him and Tommy(co-worker) went ABOVE and BEYOND to not only get my car together with a new battery but also provided me with recommendations to an awesome mechanic to fix my car. I understand it's their job to assist in getting you parts but I mean they provided me with superb customer service and was so patient with me as they troubleshooted different issues that occurred while changing out the battery, again in 90+ heat and sun blazing down upon us. Rather than fix his mistake, he recommended she go somewhere else to get it fixed! So much for "free installation"; not only will it cost money to have the bolt drilled out, but what should have been a simple/quick repair now requires more running around since the recommended repair shop had no techs available. You can be sure we'll think twice before getting service here again. If a store can't deliver on its promise, then it shouldn't make the promise.

This review is specific to A-1's junkyard at the 1200 Pulaski Highway location…read more The yard itself is relatively small and is bordered by US Route 40 on the west and the Acela train corridor on the east. There is no cost to go onto the lot to examine cars in the "pick your part" section. My current complaint is that A-1 uploads misleading photos to the various junkyard and car-part databases. A-1 apparently photographs a salvage vehicle upon its arrival, when the car looks its best. Then, to move the vehicle into the yard, A-1 utilizes a frontend loader with a fork attachment to pierce the windshield. This results in irreparable damage to the interior (and sometimes other body parts). Naturally, like junkyard catfishing, the car and the interior parts look far worse in person than in their online photographs. To compound the problem, on cars where A-1 has removed the transaxle or engine, A-1 thereafter dumps the half shafts and other tangential parts into the interior of the car (soaking the interior parts with transmission fluid, oil, grease, or all three). A-1 needs to either change its operating procedure or photograph the cars once they are actually in the yard.

I called AAA back and told them what I was being charged and AAA rep said,"no he is wrong, let me talk to him". I handed the Thompson tow driver my phone and HEARD THE AAA REP. tell him,"this customer is covered; Thompson will be paid for this tow". Then another tow truck arrived from Thompson. They talked to each other and BOTH TOW TRUCKS LEFT WITHOUT TOWING MY CAR!!! The officer called another company and now I have to pay this other company since they are not in AAA and for storage of my car when it was supposed to be towed to my house by an AAA approved vendor. AAA needs to drop these clowns!!!

At 4:30 the next day we called to check on it since they didn't call him to pick it up and we were told by the person who answered that they were new and didn't realize there was a drop box there. So you leave a random vehicle parked in front of the service door all day?? One that was scheduled to be brought in!!! Also, are you the only one working in the service department?? I'm thinking the first thing that should be checked each morning is that night drop. Especially if there is already a vehicle parked at your door before you're even open. That is a new one and never did I ever think something this bad could or would happen. It's so sad that a gentleman who has stayed loyal to the old dealership and now the new one is treated this poorly. He walked into the building and made the appointment and his truck sat all day. If we didn't call to see what was happening it would have been there all night again. That is beyond poor service. I just can't wrap my head around that at all. I was in the process of moving from Chadds Ford, PA to Maryland, and ended up at T & D Automotive…read morefor my MD inspection, mostly because it was a convenient location. When I arrived for my inspection, I was greeted by David, I believe. (There are two guys who run it- Tony and David). Both were very nice and friendly. Since I was waiting for my car, they made sure I was comfortable. They have a TV, comfortable chairs, and a nice bathroom for people who wait. The inspection finished quickly, and unfortunately I needed to replace a pair of shocks. David took me back and showed me the parts that needed replacing, and explained to me what was wrong with them, which I really appreciated. He told me that I could get it repaired elsewhere, and he could reinspect the car, or I could get it repaired there. I chose to get it done there, and he called around to find the parts. He located one that could be at the shop for the next morning, and quoted me just under $400 for the repair. Since my car is a BMW, parts are normally expensive, and I'm pretty sure it would have been at least twice as expensive through a BMW dealer. I came back the next morning, and both Tony and David worked on the repair and got me out of there in about 45 minutes. Two thumbs up for making a failed inspection a good experience! If I lived closer, I would definitely make this my full-time car place. The owners are friendly, helpful, fair, and good at what they do. I'd highly recommend this place!
