IMO the best hamburger made by a chain. Grilled patty like a picnic, toasted bun quality cheese and fresh toppings. The cheese curds with their crunchy outer shell and melted cheesy goodness inside are worth it. The frozen custard just adds to the meal. However, don't be afraid to divert away from the burger menu. The cod sandwich or fish and chips are a great option. If you've never been before then give Culver's a try. Even for adults I recommend the kids meal. A quality burger with fries, a drink and a custard dessert is worth it. Plus save the coupons on the bag for a real toy gift, not a garbage promo item like other chain restaurants. The facilities are always clean with plenty of helpful staff to get your order to you as quickly as possible. If it's crowded just realize everyone is here for a reason.

Jonathan was my cashier and he was wonderful. He was polite, kind, and did not mind when I paid for my $5 Oreo concrete mixer with a $20. He was very quick with the change as well. I would recommend for him to be manager, soon.

Culver's 1510 W Fayette Ave, Effingham IL 62401 May 22, 2021 Saturday - 5 PM for dinner 2 Adults Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - Road tripping and fast food was needed for dinner as we still have many hours of driving. Atmosphere - Easy access to the location from the Interstate which is always a plus.  We decided to take a break from the car and dine in.  The place is still following COVID low occupancy rules by the state.  We found a nice table to eat our side.  Wow the number of finches was crazy and entertaining. Food - I have not been to many Culver's and my last review I indicated I want to try the butter burger.  I did, and it loaded with all the free options.  My wife talked me into getting a double, which I am glad, the patties are very thin.  To me the double was like a normal patty.  I also ordered a side of crinkle cut French fries.  Excellent side. Service - Super fast and friendly.  They give you a table number, and they even brought the food out to us while sitting out at one of their picnic tables. Future - Yes I would order the burger again.

Dropped in at 10:30am on a Saturday morning while traveling across US 70 Ordered a couple value baskets and the price was real reasonable. Less than $5 for a Butterburger, fry and a small soda. Burgers were hot and fresh and larger than most fast food chain restaurants. Crinkle cur fry's were crispy and hot. Husband ordered the onion rings. They were okay but not great. Gear meal for the price.

As we headed to Chicago, we stopped here to eat and try some of the fast food chains we don't have back in CA. This place unlike the other ones we have tried was very spacious, super clean, and a nice variety in their menu for those who aren't into hamburgers or chicken tenders. Kids had their butter burger, pretzel burger, cheese curds, curly fries, a type of ice cream with granola and fruit which was extremely good, root beer float, pretzel bites with Wisconsin cheese, and an ice cream sundae with cookie dough, needless to say they loved everything and service was fast and friendly. The adults had steamed broccoli and soup which was very tasty didn't taste cheap at all and their salads were fresh.

Don't get me wrong ... I love Culver's but why do I have to get to get Christian music piped in my ears while I'm trying to eat. Should have know after I saw the donation box for the Cross Welcome Center.

Storefront with the tallest Culver's sign in the country??

We waited maybe 10 minutes for a table on a Sunday afternoon. The service from everyone team member was friendly and prompt. The menu is extensive. We tried the catfish bites with a homemade dill forward tartar sauce and the fried green tomatoes with a spicy remoulade. They offer brunch on the weekends. We had pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. For the more savory palates, we ordered a burger, the ribeye, and the Capone. The burger was thick and juicy, the bun held up to all of the toppings. The ribeye sandwich is a full steak on a hoagie roll. The Boursin cheese made this a little too rich for me but an amazing sandwich nonetheless. The Capone is a burger interpretation of a parmigiana sandwich. Rich marinara, mozzarella cheese and grilled onions and mushrooms made for an amazing meal. We had a wonderful time. We plan to stop in again soon

The bar is very large so that's great. The tables in the back can be adjusted for large parties but the space next to them doesn't make it comfortable. The servers are quick and stay organized with their tables. I think the food is okay but it will always come out hot! I wish they would add more seasonings to their meals and perhaps more weekly specials.

Every time we visit this town we try to get in a meal or at least take home one of their handmade pies or cookies. Haven't not been inside this restaurant ever, i kept an open mind I didn't know what to expect. Theres apparently three dine in area options. You have a whiskey, bar lounge that probably the likes of General MacArthur would patronize for food and cigars like at the Historical Manila Hotel in Manila Philippines. Then you have the open dining room where you seat yourself and it was reminiscent to an Army Chow Hall...sort of with retro 80s decor. And lastly, I chose the Salad Bar room with a booth seating. Server Jessica was fantastic! Went through the standard protocols with me; I was really enjoying the vibes at this place. It's very Mahogany, 1960s - 1980s feeling, almost like that steakhouse Warren Buffet likes to go to in Omaha Nebraska. Very community family oriented, quiet, really quite different than any restaurant or diner you patronize in a city like Los Angeles. A lot of retired folk here and truly, you feel like you been thrown back in time to the 80s and early 90s in some sense. So anyways on to the food. I'm going to state my opinion straight up, the salad bar hot food bar is the star of the show. In fact everything from the soup to the oven potatoes to the COLESLAW (Best Coleslaw Ever), reminded me of that once upon a time Soup Plantation that died during Covid....and the best part is the Cold and hot bar is all-inclusive with your main entree order. Yes you heard that right, you buy the resort tickets, and you enjoy your stay with unlimited cocktails at Cancun...I mean Neimergs... Now to the Iowa Premium Rib Eye Steak. To the kitchen staff: 2 minutes on the top side, 2 minutes on the bottom side. Bake in oven 1 minute on both sides. Done. Medium Rare. A perfectly good steak was destroyed because it came out well done. To future passerbys, skip the baked potato loaded if you decide to dine in at the hot and cold bar room. Last thoughts. I want to give the steak a 3 stars but the overall ambiance, the grandpappy grandma vibes and that overall feel like your dining at someone's home in farm country really elevated the entire experience. Plus the servers are all working their tails off. So I've rated this place a 4 stars. Think anyone on a road trip, or just driving their rig through town should give this historical site a visit. 1978 right? Or something like that. This place also has some of the freshest greens.
