This school was so bad for my child. She got bullied by 5th graders and the teachers was absolutely racial towards my daughter. I will never be going here ever again. read more

The facilities at this school have continually regressed through the progression of my child's education. Every single educational program that my child has tried to take has been canceled due to the lack of budget. This lack of budget is due to the lack of the administrators knowing what to do with their expenses. The administration gets fully replaced in under a year, completely messing up the previous organization's ideas, and has made the school a complete mess. I highly recommend you do not take your child to these educational facilities. Please, I beg of you, for the sake of your children, it is not a good idea to attend this school. read more

I absolutely hate this school! It is so unorganized and everyone is treated terribly. They do nothing about bullying and one year this kid Johnathan was touching girls and he got away with It because his mom was on the PTO. Everything you read about terrible high schools in books and on television is this school. On top of that it is a FINE ARTS SCHOOL and they cut more than half of the funds for the arts to give to Sports that they suck at. My geometry teacher literally harassed and bullied me by calling me stupid and dumb because I have dyscalcula. I have a 70 in her class which is a passing grade but now I have to go to summer school. The STAAR tests are stupid. On top of all this we were told lunches were free and all the sudden students were getting 1,000 dollar bills on the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. I wish this school would shut down but now I have 2 more miserable years at this dump. read more

My son attends Cumberland elementary school, and we could not be happier. The staff and teachers really care about their students. They work to develop the whole child. It is not a "the STAAR test is the only thing that matters" place. Instead, all students can take dance, choir, theatre or violin. Yes--the arts are a major focus instead of being on the sidelines. Wonderful! My son has dyslexia. Cumberland's program is simply the best in Tyler. Students learn how to read in the best way for their brains. It is simply presented as an alternative way to learn instead of being "special education" in a negative way. All class sizes are small. So, the teachers can really connect and work with my child. Emails are generally answered within a few hours. So, I always get my questions answered quickly. I really cannot say enough good things.
