I got my hair done with Kelly at Curl Up N Dye, and I have never had anyone destroy my hair the way she did. I don't know why she would do something like this the only explanation I have come up with is laziness and just unprofessional. I did my first session with her 6 weeks ago she told me I would need two appointment sessions to get my hair where it needed to be. I was fine with it because I understood that getting the hair to a blond takes time. The first session went fine, the only thing I did not like is that I asked for a style and blow out afterwards and did not get that I left looking like a sponge because she had to go to the bank. Mind you I'm understanding and I looked past that because everyone has a life after work. Second appointment I come in and I could tell she is not doing the same process she did the first time but if she is a professional "she knows what she is doing "?? She colors the roots ( does not wash it out) leaves it for as long as she is taking to place the bleach to the rest of my hair then 15-20 minutes later after she lets the bleach sit she washes it all together. Mind you at this point my roots started feeling a burning sensation but I'm trusting her "because she is the professional" and knows what she is doing. She proceeds to taking me back to the chair does not brush my hair and puts on the toner all over the hair without the hair being brushed. Then washes my hair 15 minutes later leaves me in the head sink rinsing area while she takes in another client to cut his hair " she said it was her son" mind you I been seating in that sink with my head up for 20 minutes while she is working on someone else. Finally comes and gets me and we went back to the chair she finally brushes the hair and blows out a small strand and said she likes the way it came out. I leave the salon with wet hair because she told me I had to baby the hair until it recover. I had never walked out of a salon with wet hair before usually a professional wants to make sure she sees the full outcome before you leave the building. Not her she does not care she is lazy and just wants you out of the chair. I forgot to mention she does not really like to put anything on your hair afterwards no oils, protectants nothing at ALL! Please don't use her she does not care of her work or her clients. If you don't believe this review just look at the pictures this is what $420.00 dollars will get you(not including the tip) with her after two sessions 6 weeks apart. Mind you she sent back the $170 for the second session her comment on the refund was unhappy client. Unhappy is an understatement she destroyed my hair to the point that I have to wait for it to recover before anyone can fix it. Her excuse over the phone was "oh I think it's because I did not brush after I rinse the hair and I just put the toner on top" this is what she said. She told me I could come back so she could fix it! Why would I go back to someone that destroyed my hair to the point of where I'm in tears? She is so unprofessional I don't think she has a passion for her work or care for a clients hair, its easy money she can charge people hoping it works out. Phil is tops, a talented hairstylist who has a great eye for getting it right. I started having Phil cut and do my hair after my last stylist left her salon for an extended period of time. I used Rhonda for the first time as I only live in Ridgecrest during the week. A couple gals at work recommended her and I wanted layers so was skeptic because not all hair stylists to great layers. She showed me a couple options after listening to what I wanted and it came out perfect. Salon was very clean, everyone friendly and helpful. She even helped out with my thinning bangs. My experience with any salon is limited because I have usually just trimmed my own hair for many years. I needed a more stylized cut so I referred to an expert. After reading some reviews, I discovered that many of the salons in town have awesome reviews. What made me choose this one? The ease of making an appointment! You can do so right from their Facebook page. I'm not crazy about phone calls, personally. So I was seen pretty quickly by Kaley, a very talented stylist with an excellent understanding of hair. I had a few pictures and she helped me figure out what I wanted and offered professional and practical advice on the style I was requesting. She worked fast, was very friendly, and did an amazing job giving me a great style! I will definitely be returning to Kaley! read more

I honestly think an indicator of a good stylist is someone who asks what you are looking for and tries to get an idea of what you are hoping for. Unfortunately at my first visit, they just asked "So you're here for a balayage?", and I had to try to sneak in what I was hoping for. I did not feel heard, and of course, in the end, I spent a bunch of money on a color that did not match what I was hoping for at all. read more

My first time here was great. The inside is very clean, modern and spacious. The staff was really friendly, they made sure I had been helped. I had Debbie cut my hair. She was very friendly and informative. She suggested different ways to style my hair, which was nice because I've been struggling with styling my short hair. She also went out of her way to make sure my 4 year old was comfortable while she waited for me to get my hair cut. It was just a quick trim, but I am very satisfied and will be back. read more

They're pretty good for Ridgecrest, which means mediocre for the rest of the world. Front desk is not very polite. Hairdresser spent about 10 minutes on my cut and seemed put out when I asked her to fix the bangs. Cheap but I would have spent more money for more attention and less rush. read more

Monica is the best that I have found so far!! I had my hair colored by her, she was able to inturpret what I saying into what I wanted and what would look best on my complextion/ face shape. My hair color/highlights have lasted longer Im very happy with her!! =) Highly recommended !! read more

There are a few hair salons in Ridgecrest but the only one I will trust with my hair is this place. When I first started going here, I had just tried to dyed my own hair blonde and fried most of it and turned it yellow. In the times I have had my hair professional done. I have never had someone get the results I wanted as fast as Kaley has done. I have only been seeking here for about 6 months and she has mastered my hair so much that I don't have any brass color in my hair. (My hair is naturally medium brown) soooo that's a really big thing for me. Kaley really cares about making sure your happy with how your hair turns out. She is the best hair stylist I have ever had. I had my nails done with shellac here recently ($25). The manicurist was very personable and it was an overall pleasant experience. I typically destroy nail polish within hours but I am almost at 1 week and they still look great. Wish it was easier to get an appointment but there really isn't anywhere in Ridgecrest I can easily walk-in and get a manicure. read more

This salon is nice! I went there for an emergencyroot touch up and haircut .The person at the reception who answered my call was very courteous and friendly and said that they would call back very soon and they did. Kayley went out of her way to help me out - It was my first interaction with her. She was warm and friendly, heard me out and then did my root touch up What I liked a lot was how she worked with my input.After my haircut was almost done when I asked for some changes to the length and style Kayley did it willingly (y'know there was no eye roll or drama ) Sigh ...if only other things in life were that easy lol!! I used to come here for pedicures with kaley because she was awesome and I loved the calm, quiet atmosphere. I also love it because it doesn't smell like chemicals as some nail salons can. Kaley stopped doing nails and I went a few other places but came back because I love it here, and gave Gina a try. Let me tell you she's just as awesome!!! She took her time and was easy to talk with. I was able to relax and enjoy some pampering on my feet. She spent at least 15 minutes getting off all of the dead skin and my feet feel baby smooth- haven't felt that was in quite awhile since living in the desert!!!!! read more

I went to Curl Up N Dye because it was the highest rated salon in Ridgecrest. My Appointment with Rachel at 3:30, I got there at 3:20 and had to sit there for a half hour waiting to be seen. I brought in a picture to show her exactly how I wanted it and instead i had to tell her what to do every step of the way. I went to a salon so i could have a professional do it instead of me guessing what would look good. It took her 10 minutes, she cut it straight across and didnt do anything else to it. She even talked about how rushed she was to another stylist as shes cutting my hair. I got home and saw that its uneven, one side is about half and inch, to an inch, longer than the other, and it looked like she put it in a pony tail and just chopped it off. I called this morning to see if she would fix it and she gave me lip saying "well i gave you what you wanted and now you dont want it?" So overall I would have gone somewhere else and payed more to have them take longer on my hair, for them to know what looks good, cut vertically not horizontally. Not to mention the level of rudeness when I politely asked her to fix it. read more

The Aesthetician is great! They always have specials each month. I got free microdermabrasion with my facial. She does an excellent job.

They did such a good job on cutting my hair. I am picky and hardly get my hair cut but they did great!!! Debbie is awesome!!! Thank you!
