I was in Ridgecrest for a few days, and had really neglected my self-care for several months. So I called and got a pedicure, hair color, and facial on successive days. Everybody was so lovely and friendly, from Vicky who took my call to Shanell (nails), Liz (hair) and Sandi (facials)! I'm giving one star for a good haircut. My sister went in and received two services; hair bleach and nails. She was newly 18 and I decided she would be left in good hands for her dye and cut. I left to work expecting nothing less. I left her a Starbucks drink and some cinnamon rolls. The RECEPTIONIST that was on duty the day of February 4th, 2022 at 9 am was so unprofessional. My sister said that receptionist kept passing by and picking off her cinnamon rolls. The receptionist would smirk at Becca, the hairstylist. Becca would just giggle and didn't say a thing. I thought that it was strange when I picked my sister up at 4:30 pm she hadn't finished her snack. She said she had lost her appetite. I would too if a stranger stuck her fingers in my food unsolicited! So the reason I'm posting this TODAY and not in February is because I suggested that my sister and I get our nails done, to which she replied "not at that salon with Becca because that girl ate my food". This was A week ago today that I found out about the unprofessionalism at that salon. I asked for a call back when the women were in on Tuesday, it is now Friday and I haven't heard from a single person at Madison Ave Salon. I expected to leave my sister in good hands but was left disappointed when not even her own stylist could stand up for her. A bad review over cinnamon rolls May be meager to some, but somebody sticking their fingers in my food, especially without asking first is disrespectful. This made me feel that Becca, the receptionist, and the others who work at that salon saw my sister as a lesser human being that didn't deserve the common decency of asking her permission. I hope that Madison Ave Salon values it's guests more than this, but I couldn't even get a call back, so I doubt it. read more

I have been going here for years and realized I've never left a review! Penney has been doing my haircuts, color, highlights and extensions and does a fabulous job. Kayli has filled in for her w/my extensions too and she is skilled on top of being pleasant and outgoing. I made an appointment 1week ahead. Got a confirmation same day and a reminder twice before the said appointment. But when i came in 5mins before my scheduled appointment, the lady told me that i have to wait 30mins more and go somewhere else. Not the first time they did that. I love this salon. I just moved here a few weeks ago I get my nails done and waxing done religiously Nikki does my nails and she is fantastic always very excited to do different things with my nails she doesn't make me feel like a burden if I change my mind or want to try something a little different she is wonderful and Diedra does my waxing Im also about to need my hair done and I'm going to make my appointment with her. I really like the salon is looks gorgeous it's clean the girls are friendly they aren't stuck up. I was going to make the three hour trip to LA to get my eye lashes done but I'm going to do it at this salon. The girls are all super sweet and super helpful. Nikki takes her time with my nails and doesn't rush them so I feel like I need to get out of her chair and Diedra is the same way very gentle with waxing and doesn't make me feel rushed. So I can't really say much about their hair styling, but all I can say is DO NOT GET WAXED HERE!! Ive been getting waxed for a couple years now and this was by far the worst experience ever!!! I could tell the girl was not very experienced at all and hurt me pretty bad but I kept my mouth shut and took the pain. I'm pretty sure she knew I was upset and I could see that she was uncomfortable with waxing female body parts. LOL. Oh well, I took the pain and the afterwards mess she left me and reminded myself that I will never come back here again. It's unfortunate because I'm new to the area and relied on Yelp to guide me to a great salon... I'm kinda scared now to risk my hair getting done here now. I have issues with Madison Avenue calling themselves a "Day Spa." It most certainly is not. I had a gift certificate for a facial. I called to make an appointment, only to learn (after serious third degree questioning) that the person doing the facials really doesn't come in very often. Case in point - she wouldn't be back into the spa for the next 2 months! Then I was informed that if I had a gift certificate for a facial, I couldn't roll it over to a massage. This was a birthday gift and I really didn't want to wait until 2 months after my birthday. Luckily the gift certificate was "generic" but I still felt that the "day spa" aspect of the salon is misleading and more of an afterthought. read more

I was worried I would have to go to LA for a good haircut but figured I'd give Madison Avenue salon a try first. I could not be happier with the experience!! I just went about a week ago trying them out for a hair appointment. And Brittany got me in ASAP. These gals work super hard, not only making your hair look great, but getting to know you! I went back with my friend the next day, because I know she just NEEDED some Brittany in her life. She loved it! I then proceeded to take my husband and he looks great. Definitely recommend. I have been seeing Rachel for all of my haircare services over the last year and I have never loved salon services more. She is professional and sociable. She listened to my wants and has taken excellent care of my hair. I have never had my hair so healthy and manageable. I have naturally curly/wavy hair so that is a must for me! She takes her time to make sure my hair is treated properly and that I have knowledge of products that are best suited for my haircare needs. She is so polite and bubbly to be around. I got a haircut on Monday by Rachel. I asked for a partially shaved haircut. The side that was shaved is not faded at all. It's short at the bottom and then long half way up my head. The rest of my hair which is longer is just destroyed. I was supposed to have layers in it. But just like with the shaved part its long and then there's shorter pieces here and there. It looks awful. To make matters worse, when I contacted Rachel to see if she wouldn't mind fixing it. She never got back to me. I would not recommend. read more

I called to make an appointment and was able to get in an hour later. The atmosphere is really comfortable and all the girls were so nice. JJ was AMAZING! I went in wanting to take my shoulder length brown hair to a pixie cut with a "lighter" color (I had no real idea what color, but had in my head that it needed to be lighter.) She suggested a mocha color, which was darker than my original, and it looks incredible!! I've had nothing but compliments on the cut and color. She also waxed my eyebrows. Every time I've had them done before I have broken out really badly, and this time nothing!! I will absolutely be going back, and I tell everyone who compliments my cut and color where I got it and which stylist did it! LOVE this place!!! Id have to say that there ok not great because I had an appointment with a lady named maria and she never even came in, I also over heard them call her asking her where she was and I heard that she didnt care she can in an hr later and was rude, but Thank goodness there was a no show and I got Ashley who was amazing and made up for the rude Marie. If it werent for ashley fitting me in I would never have gone there again. Also the Front desk is polite but they have no professionalism at all but I'm finding that in ridgecrest no one know what professionalism is because aparently small towns have the mind set that they dont have to be professional.
