No room for eating in but it is a favourite amongst local workers and people just passing through. I wouldn't try and get in here at lunchtime, just a tip. The pig in the window appears to be the stuff of legend but I haven't quite got to the bottom of it. Will post an update if I ever find out, but my cousin insisted that I upload the image. And trust me, the simple, satisfying food is worth the weird pig. And the fact that it is in a take out carton and not immaculately presented. The staff here have plenty of smiles but they know that you just want your food, and quite quickly please.

They have competitions on their website to win free lots of meat. Also, they have a Twitter page. I'm in awe. Most people however just know them as the king of butchers in this area for their locally produced/ sourced meat such as High Peak Lamb. This is how butchers should be and I hope their grand digital aspirations do not cloud this noble mission. They have gone the way of most forward thinking butchers and also provide small lunchtime meals - from salads and cold meat sandwiches to hot snacks like their pies. Mettricks also do catering services in the local area.

Needing to start thinking about working on my hangover with a serious filling of food, I was more excited by next door BBQ restaurant 'South 7'but was convinced that Libby's was a cool place to hit - especially with having our 1 year old daughter in tow. And wow was I impressed - what a lovely cafe/bar that ticks all of the boxes for me. So first off they do a great lunch menu of full on sandwiches - my wife having what she called a tasty vegan hummus sandwich while I went for the other end of the spectrum by having their pulled pork sandwich (huge and amazing value for £4.50) - both coming with great big salads. My wife said the coffee was good while I had a bottle of Brooklyn beer (£4.50) - which did hit the spot with the food. This place has a full bar, an open plan kitchen, seating for about 50 inside and lots of lovely long benches like some east London hipster bar making the mix of customers a range of families, couples, old's and anyone who likes damn good food and drink in a relaxed setting while flicking through the complementary newspapers. The only Cambodian restaurant in the North…read more We came in for a quick lunch and my family all went for the sandwiches (Battambang prawn, Bayon chicken, Mekong steak) as I had not eaten Cambodian food since visiting the country many moons ago I cheekily asked for an Amok curry (It was a long shot as it wasn't actually on the lunch menu) and lo and behold, they said they would get me one!! DELICIOUS! ALL OF IT! Yes I'm shouting but this place is definitely worth shouting about! Amok curry with flavours that just zapped me right back in time. If I lived here I would be in every day. The pub itself it's not really a 'drinking' pub these days, although it is a popular spot for people to stop have lunch. The cooked sandwiches (baguettes, Ciabatta etc) are hearty and delicious. Due to the location many people do choose to drive as its near the top of long and deceptively steep hill, but there is good parking so you should be fine most times if you do drive. The interior is a cosy layout of dark wood tables dotted around the room in a somewhat un-uniform manner, soft lighting and an unmistakeable smell of tasty food often wafting from the kitchen on arrival. This also one of those pubs where the landlord is really hands on, he's always working the floor, looking after the customers and making sure the service is working as it should. This is reflected in the experience that you receive, attentive staff, plates moved quickly, drinks often offered and always service with a smile. The prices are about average for a pub / restaurant such as this, although the menu is not huge, what this does mean is that everything you order is cooked fresh to order. There is always a good amount of people and a good amount of back ground chatter, we were there on a Thursday night, when at 9:30 a pub quiz starting taking place, it seemed a bit late to be starting a quiz but as it was free to have a go we decided to try our luck before fatigue and failure with the sporting questions forced us to make our exit. I would highly recommend a meal at the Wagon and Horses whether it is Sunday lunch, a tasty sandwich on a Saturday afternoon or a scrummy evening meal - then this place hits the spot every time!

I always go here Saturday morning and whilst getting myself a breakfast on a baguette, I pick up homemade cakes and a cheese and onion pie for tea! The shop is tiny but it is elegant in its service. It is not a typical shop in the slightest, and the only way I can describe it to you is being a boutique food shop. It belongs in Harrods honestly! Homemade biscuits and jams are a popular thing of mine but also they cater which is fantastic. If you find this shop, then go and have a sandwich and fill your bag with goodies while you are there!
