They arrived for our event right on time. I was not happy that I had to pay an extra $175 for an after hour charge. My event started at 11AM and he wanted to have everything set up by 10:30 AM... that would not of worked. I needed all the tables and everything to be set up by 9:30 AM because that was when my vendors were arriving to set up tables. And I required some of my own set up before the vendors arrived. We received a 10% discount for a October special but the price was already higher then the other quotes that I was receiving. But since this was a big event for me, it seemed like using Current Events would be the best option since they appeared to be larger and have a lot of reviews on Yelp. I could of saved money if I went with another vendor, and I am pretty sure they would not of charged me a fee for arriving in the morning. The equipment that was delivered was in good condition. No complaints there. The girl that we were dealing with named Nicole seemed hot and cold. For myself, she seemed very accommodating. But a few of my coworkers complained to me that she was rude to them. She was never rude to me directly, but I could sense she was frustrated at times. I won't be dealing with them again. I really thought by going with a more expensive company I would be receiving excellent service... that additional $175 really got me. They could of had a new regular customer but not anymore. read more

When I found out everyone I know was coming to Thanksgiving, I had a small panic attack and immediately wondered where everyone was going to sit. Then my boyfriend had the brilliant idea to rent tables and chairs. Then I had the brilliant idea to get on Yelp, found this jewel of a business, and proceeded to waste away hours perusing the various linen and tableware options. I finally finished online "shopping" and gave Current Events a call. In a matter of minutes, I was set with long dining tables, chairs for 25 of my nearest and dearest, table linens, napkins, drinking and wine glasses for the low price of $150. Money well spent! Pick-up and drop-off were a breeze. I am moving into new digs soon and plan on calling Current Events for the necessities for my housewarming party. They are truly fantastic. I typically use RSVP Rental to rent chairs, etc. -- until recently, they increased their delivery fee from $60 to $80! Since we only needed to rent 40 chairs for an event -- I just couldn't justify paying $40 for chairs and $80 for delivery! So -- I went online -- and found Current Events! I called and initially spoke with Kim. She sent over a proposal immediately. When I called the next day, I was informed by Keiara that Kim was not available. I thought for sure I will have to leave Kim a message and we'll have to play phone tags all day long. To my surprise, Keiara offered to help me and took care of my order! Whaaaa?! You mean -- I don't have to wait?! WOW! It is so refreshing to experience GREAT customer service. The delivery guys were awesome! They have a positive attitude and you can tell they have fun at work! What's great is that the white chairs we received were CLEAN... typically with a rental place, we would have to wipe them down when we get them. This place was very easy to work with. I emailed them on a Thursday night, needing chairs and tables for Saturday morning. They responded quickly, even though it was late and were able to accommodate my request. They do offer pick up and delivery (we opted for picking up ourselves it was cheaper) and everything went smoothly. They promptly returned my deposit as well. Thank you For everything! read more

Ordered 4 high top tables and 12 chairs along with tablecloths for buffet tables and dessert tables. The party chef decided not to use a dessert table, so I did not need or use 2 of the tablecloths. They were returned in PERFECT condition. The pick up team, documented this on their invoice. Since I did not hear from them, I called Current Events and was told that they would not refund me due to the fact that it was taken out of their inventory and against company policy. Since I am the owner of several small businesses, I totally disagree with their policy. To be successful, you need to compromise your company policy sometimes in order to keep your customers returning. I informed Jason, one of the managers that I will not ever recommend Current Events to anyone. He then responded by verifying my email address so that he can send me a LIST OF HIS COMPETITORS. Jason's attitude was totally unprofessional and unnecessary. A simple refund would have easily resolved the issue and left me with a good feeling and I would have used Current Events next time. read more

Current Events was a great company to work with for our event in Las Vegas! Stephanie was extremely helpful in setting up everything that I needed for the event with ease and confidence. Jason was super helpful because we rented a projector and he made sure we had all the right cables for perfect execution of the event - really went the extra mile and it payed off! We ended up needing to swap out vases last minute and they were able to accommodate without any questions asked. I love working with "Can Do" people who help me make out of state events happen and this company definitely has those type of people working for them! We used Jason and his team at Current Events for our wedding reception. Our reception was at a vacation home in Las Vegas and unfortunately the owner restricted us to using the garage and driveway for the reception. Jason personally showed up and looked at the property with the owner and I. Jason came up with an AWESOME plan to transform the garage and exterior of the house. He used white sheeting, up lights, and white overhead lights. Every guest came to me and commented on how beautiful everything looked. Even my wife (who was upset at having her wedding reception in a garage) said that it was perfect. I couldn't believe the transformation! In addition to that, Jason was helpful with pricing and last minute changes to the plan. His crew showed up on time and were very friendly and efficient with the set up. Current Events even coordinated with the cater to supply all the flat ware, glass ware, tables, chairs, etc. We couldn't have done it without them. The one snag was that both for our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception (we used them for both) it rained. Yes, it rained in Vegas on both days. Current Events was concerned about the tables, chairs, and dance floor. They advised me that if they put the floor down and the rain damaged it that I would be responsible. They decided to hold off on the dance floor until the day of the wedding. They then showed up again the next day and promptly set the floor up and covered it with a tarp. Everything worked out and the reception went off perfectly. I was very grateful that the set up guys took care of me and didn't just thoughtlessly set everything up and let it get damaged by the rain. Current Events is a class act. Current Events is the only rental company I would use in the Las Vegas area. I have been in the event industry for 7 years. they are the only ones in the Las Vegas Valley with the best customer service. I like using Current Events because they answer promptly and if I ever have any issues they fix it right away. I will say I have used the other rental companies in the past and they do not fix mistakes or answer in the time needed for an order. That is huge since clients need answers right away. read more

They were very nice to deal with over the phone, when I placed my order. I was very put off by the insane delivery charge to pick up rentals on a Sunday (it was over 3x the amount of the rental items themselves), but it was a little less than RSVP. We didn't want the hassle of picking up/dropping off ourselves so we just sucked it up. We ordered three high top cocktail tables, 10 folding chairs, and a trash can. Delivery was on time, and the items were nice and met our needs. Pickup is where everything went wrong. We had contracted for pickup to occur between 9-10 a.m. on Sunday, since we had to be checked out of our hotel suite by 11 a.m. By 10:15 a.m., they had not arrived nor made any communication with us that they would be late. I called their office, which is closed on Sunday. I then called the emergency after-hours line listed on the contract. There was no answer, so I left a message asking for a status update and explaining that we had to be out by 11 a.m. I tried to get a late check out from the hotel, but they were unable to accommodate us. By 10:30, I had received no response from Current Events, so I called again and left another message. I called again at 10:45 a.m. to let them know that after 11, we could no longer be responsible for what happened to the rental items. I asked hotel guest services what to do with the items, and they said that housekeeping would remove them and send them to lost and found. I called Current Events at 11 to let them know this and tell them that we would expect reimbursement for any charges incurred for the extra housekeeping work. About three hours later, someone from Current Events called me back and said the delivery driver lost track of time while working another event that morning. They said that they would retrieve the items from lost and found and not charge us anything extra. They also said they would reimburse us for any extra charges from hotel housekeeping. However, I felt they could have been more apologetic and try harder to recover our service because I was very stressed out about incurring these extra charges or being held liable if something happened to the rental items. I was absolutely livid. Given the insane amount of money we paid for the "after-hours" delivery, I feel like they could have done more. I would not recommend using this vendor. read more

Current Events is a wonderful rental company! We used Jason and his team for our October backyard wedding. We had around 210 guests. We rented 2,800 sq in tents, tables, chairs, a 20x40 ft dance floor, bar and bar equipment, linens and gorgeous bistro lighting all from their company. I spoke with Jason personally multiple times prior to our wedding. He was always more than willing to answer my multitude of questions. One of my favorite things Jason provided us with was a 3D rendering of our backyard and where we would place all of the rentals. It was extremely helpful and gave us the piece of mind that the layout and magnitude of the wedding was even possible in our yard. Thanks to the wonderful world of Pinterest I was often updating and changing my design, Jason never once complained, he was always willing to make changes and no job was ever to big for him. He had everything we wanted at a fair and reasonable price. I did all my major orders through Jason, even our mobile bathrooms. He spoke with the bathroom rental company, dealt with pricing, delivery, etc. He was my contact person for everything. Current Events had our entire floor plan set up the night before the wedding and arrived the day of to set up all of the linen and finishing touches. They returned the following Monday to clean up and pack up all of their rentals. They left our backyard spotless, you would have never guessed there was a 200+ person party there a few nights prior. Jason's experience, quality of service, and desire to do a wonderful job are what makes Current Events such a fantastic company. I understand that there are much larger companies who have been in business longer for you to choose from... but I guarantee you, you will not get the personalized attention, new equipment, and level of care that you do from this company. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed. read more

I hosted a holiday event and rented tables, chairs, plates, etc. The pick-up was fine and the employees were pretty nice. My event was a success, however on the day of my party I saw that I had only received 10 of the 12 chairs I ordered. It didn't dawn on me to call the company because it was Thanksgiving day and the company was closed. The following day I phoned to arrange pick up of the rentals and informed the owner that my order was incomplete. I thought I would be offered a discount on the mistake, instead I was told I would be charged for the "missing" chairs. Four witnesses at my event who were present when we pulled the chairs out of the car would swear there were only 10 and yet the owner was insistent I was wrong. "I've checked my computer and it says you received 12 chairs." And yet when I asked if he would physically check the entire chair inventory he refused. "I'm not counting all of my chairs." I never received the two additional chairs and have no reason to lie about it or keep chairs that don't belong to me. The owner basically told me he could care less about what I thought or wanted and said I was on the hook $60 for his chairs. I told him it was possible he was wrong and that the chairs could be hidden behind other white chairs in his warehouse. That didn't matter. The computer said I had 12 chairs and that was it. But the owner's disdain for me as a customer made the situation worse. Regardless of who was right or wrong, I deserved to be treated like a paying customer and not a thief. Telling me "I'm done with you" and "Out of 75 orders I filled this week, you have been the worst" is not how you keep business. Those two chairs were not lost by me nor were they set down somewhere like the owner suggested. The owner's business practice should change. Five of his employees were present when my car was loaded and verified the order was complete. I trusted this was in fact the case. But the owner's bad attitude and unwillingness to go the extra step to ensure his customers weren't being charged for the company's mistake is the reason for this review. I hope it helps the next customer who is in a similar situation. There is no need for an owner to treat a customer like the enemy. Needless to say I will not be a repeat customer. When those two chairs are found in the company's inventory, I highly doubt I'll get an apology or even a refund for chairs I never received. read more
