I was told to try currywurst when in Berlin so we went to this well known chain. The wait was only about 10 minutes when I went around 1p on a weekday. You can choose how many sausages but the set standard is two cut up sausages on a bed of fries. I felt one was enough especially given the amount of fries. The dish is characterized by an obscene amount of ketchup and mayo. Both sauces taste different from the American varieties and were quite tasty but the amount given was way too much and makes the fries soggy. The sausage tastes like regular sausage to me but with a touch of curry powder. However again I didn't taste it very much because of how much ketchup was on it. Overall I'm not a fan but it's worth trying if you're in the area.

I had the two sausages, they pile on fries, mayo, spices, and the special thick ketchup. For apx. ten Euro or less you can get a GREAT meal.Curry 36 is an example of European street food at its best.

Berlin is known for the Currywurst and this place is supposed to be the IT place for it. It's a touristy place as the line and photo takers gives it away. There's multiple lines to order and it's stand up dining, so no linen napkins here. What you will get is cheap eats and fast! A Currywurst with side of fries/ frites came to €3,40, and it was perfect. I'm not a fan of hot dogs or most sausages, but this was good. I'm not sure how often I'd eat here, but I can say if I'm hungry and I don't have much money, I'd come here!

Superbly located, great nosh near Zoo station. Vegan option, but the straight-up 2 X curry wurst and fries with Mayo and Ketchup is like you've died and went to heaven. "I'm ready I'm ready for the gridlock I'm ready To take it to the street, uh huh I'm ready for the shuffle Ready for the deal Ready to let go of the steering wheel I'm ready Ready for the crush, uh huh." . Zoo Station--U2 (copyright) . Thanks boys, but I'm just ready for @curry36 It's THAT good. A must visit in Berlin.

Inconsistent, they need some quality control. Decent most of the time but definitely not the best currywurst like so many claim. They have a vegan option. And it's very close to the metro and draws a lot of tourists. If there's a line, it's not worth the wait. Staff is very blunt and not the friendliest.

I recently learned there's no afterlife. This dude talks about it in Chapter 2 of his book called Sapiens. I'm about 30 pages in. Barack Obama, Bill Gates, and somebody else (I forget) all recommended this book. I mean, I thought those guys were all like super positive and like "the world is your oyster" type people. What a body blow. You just punch in a bunch of stuff to MS Excel and then one day it's over. Like total nothing. Sucks. Anyway, Curry 36 is this meaningless bullshit place near the zoo in Berlin that serves cut up hot dogs with ketchup. Ketchup. Ugh. Those nihilistic fcks are totally next level. It's like the fact that life is meaningless and all religious and moral principals are a contrived construct isn't enough. They have to fck up my hot dog by putting ketchup on it. Only in Germany.

Do not underestimate the currywurst! Not going to lie, when I was looking up things to do in Berlin and kept on seeing currywurst pop up, I was a little skeptical. How can that possibly be that great? Well I humbly admit it was phenomenal. The balance of flavors and textures and don't even get me started on that sauce. By the end of our few days in Berlin I was sick of currywurst seeing that my boyfriend made us eat it 100 times . When I go back to Berlin, this will definitely be a repeat. Best currywurst in the city.

Judging from my recent visit to Berlin, the German national dish must be the CurryWurst with stands selling Wiener hotdogs covered in a curry ketchup seemingly everywhere This competition may make it seem like a dog eat dog world but this Curry36 stand just outside the Zoologischer Garten station was open late with a crowd most of the time, so I decided to give it a try. The small of sizzling sausages drew me in I opted for a simple combination of a suasage with sauce and it proved the perfect late night snack to sink my canines into. Flavoursome pork sausage given some zing by the sauce It certainly wasn't the Wurst meal I had in Berlin!

Not the wurst, but the best!

Not the wurst at all! I can't be the only person to have done that lame joke? Right? Oh darn it, I'll just do my review then. So while I'd bookmarked it on the app, I hadn't really planned to come here until from doing a few Christmas markets I ended up here. I had been expecting a queue, and there was one, but it moved at a reasonable pace. Staff were fine, you can't all be beacons of light on a cold December afternoon when your job has you rushed off your feet the entire time. I just needed them to understand English, which they did. I do find it a little amusing that they sell things other than sausages, but we opted to get the exact same thing that everyone else was actually ordering. So we ended up with two currywurst with sauce and a huge pile of fries with mayonnaise. It isn't pre sliced - it was cut up right in front of us. Delicious. You can order it with or with skin (we went for skin). Massive portion, easily enough for two being shared. Managed to grab a spot at one of the covered tables, and although I wasn't sure of the ketchup at first, it really grew on me. I can see why it's so popular.

Decent curry Wurst, that's pre sliced. Staff could be friendlier, not in such a hurry.. Ketchup on Wurst is too dense. Not enough drinks to choose. Rebel Reviewer: 3 stars

Curry wurst with skin and French fries with mayo

Supposedly the best Currrywurst place here in Berlin but I only tried this one so no comparison for me! Curry is technically a ketchup like/inspired sauce that looks and taste like American ketchup but has less sugar so the sweetness isn't as strong. The wurst is a sausage and you can get it with or without a layer of skin. I tried the classic Currrywurst with skin with a side of potatoes which came with mayo dressing. I liked the wurst with the ketchup since I'm keen on sauce but I didn't find the sausage unique or exceptionally wonderful in any way. Is it a good on the go snack if you're hungry walking in Berlin? Oh yes! And good when you're drunk? Definitely! You should try it if you're in Berlin for sure but not sure if I need another one for a while!

    Sehr salzig!!

Wayyyyyyy to salty. I don't understand why add so much ketchup. And the saleslady is so not friendly.

Pretty standard currywurst, cheap delicious and greasy. It was a little hard to find because it's outside the bahnhof on the Platz.

Horrible service and enough competition to go somewhere else. Don't expect pleasant service.
