Rüyam Gemüse Kebab purportedly has one of the best Döner kebabs in Berlin, and after multiple tries, I largely agree. The Gemüse Kebab here was made from spiced chicken sliced from a rotating spit, mixed with fried potatoes and carrots. Then came a variety of fresh vegetables including lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and onions, and the kebab was finished off with crumbled feta cheese and a choice of sauces (herb, garlic, cocktail, sesame, spicy chili). The seeded bread was toasted and had a nice crusty exterior, and the fillings exploded out of the bread, making for a photogenic dish too! We also ordered the Rüyam Teller, which came with a larger portion of chicken döner, salad, and sauce, as well as a scoop of flavored rice, crispy falafel, and crispy halloumi. IMO def worth the hype! We waited for maybe almost an hour from getting in line till we got our food (came around 7-730pm on a Thursday), but it was well worth it. The döner box alone (and maybe an order of fries ;) ) would be enough for 2 people. It's super saucy though. We also got the gemüse kebab which was huge and filled to the brim, but not as saucy as the box. We went to a couple of different smaller kebab shops and this place was hands down the best. The portions were huge here and they wouldn't skimp on the meat or the veggies! It also has the best fries. It might've even been one of the cheapest places we tried. read more

I came here on a Saturday mid afternoon and the place was still pretty busy. I didn't have to wait that long (maybe 15 min) to order and another 5 min for food. The place definitely isn't great in terms of English, but the staff are very friendly and willing to help you out. They did make a mistake in one of the orders though and gave me something different than what I asked for. I got the normal kebab (the very popular one - gemuse?) and the durum kebab. The gemuse was very good. The chicken was super flavorful and the bread was good as well. The durum wasn't as good unfortunately. It's kind of like a burrito and I didn't like the wrap that much. The portion size is definitely good for one person and can serve as a meal. I think each was like 5 or 6 euros, so this place is good value as well. read more

I had one day passing through Berlin, and I wanted to try some famous Berlin döner! I read about a couple of the popular tourist places that were reported to have long queues. Then, I read about Rüyam Gemüse Kebab, and wow- they did not disappoint! The chicken kebab was tender, flavorful, and delicious. The house sauces were tasty but not too spicy, all the fillings fresh, and the bread perfect size and consistency. We had to walk ~10 minutes from the nearest U or S bahn station, but there is a bus stop right outside. The business had a small inside for ordering with a few bar seats but most seating was outside in covered patios. The service was extremely friendly and the work environment seemed joyful. They played very loud music - most 90s hip hop when I was there - and staff were singing along and shouting "danke shön" every time someone left a tip. I couldn't quite finish my sandwich, but it was just as good leftover for dinner that night. I highly recommend Rüyam Gemüse Kebab for your next Berlin döner experience! read more

Oh man, I would give this place 10 stars if it were possible. A close friend who is from Berlin urged us to try this Döner Kebab place. He reckoned "this is the best kebab place in Berlin". For fast, convenient food, this place is such a gem. My parents ordered the official Döner (a sandwich meets gyro) and I ordered a vegetarian plate. Every ingredient came together in such a beautiful way visually and flavorfully. The colors were so pretty I didn't want to start eating! The service was very quick and the workers were so nice and happy to serve us. We sat at a picnic table right outside of the entrance people watched Berliners as we smashed our meal. The potatoes were perfectly glazed (whole dish is GF), the hummus was the absolute best I've ever tasted, and the salad was very very fresh. My parents were equally impressed and satisfied as they devoured their massive Döners. The price reflects cheap street food, but the actual food here is top quality plus giant portions. Or maybe because I didn't eat it right away? (I got it to go) Prepare to wait for a bit ... But they will tell you know how long the wait is gonna be when you pay. I still think this is the best kebab in Berlin. I usually go at least once a week. However, my personal opinion is that the quality has been decreasing the last few weeks I've gone there. I see a lot of new staff, that (once again in my opinion) are not as good as the older gentlemen that you see working at Ruyam. This belongs to the select few kebab places that really are tops in Berlin. It's one of the few where the meat really tastes like meat! The sauces were all delicious and I love how they have 3 different kinds of powdered chile you can add yourself! The extra spicy is ACTUALLY extra spicy so be careful with that one...even if you do get it down, you'll remember it the next day. I've been trying to taste as many as possible here in Berlin and with a few exceptions am almost always slightly disappointed, (after having tried mustafa's). Hovering allowed The Germans have taken the Kebab to their hearts and the gemüse (vegetable) kebab in particular. Rùya is apparently one of the best, so father-in-law decided quite emphatically that we try it out. The Rules: Order first then be prepared to hover to jump on an outside seat when free. But be aware, it's not first come first served on the seat front. You need to be fast! The options: Either chicken or vegetable kebab on fluffy bread, a wrap or with rice. 15 mins later your number comes in. We opted for one chicken on fluffy and one Gemüse with rice and set amongst these monsters like animals. To Brits much of this Turkish delight will be familiar, but with slight differences. The bread is thick and fluffy fresh and served with crisp salad; the sauce is a dill yogurt/mayo or a chilli ketchup and you get a crumbly sharp feta cheese on top! Indeed the chicken kebab was a delight, but the veg one was basically fried diced mushy potato and aubergine and really quite greasy and not as healthy as it sounds :( Service is friendly in this no frills imbiss (cafe, come take away) and you get free unlimited tea with your €3.90 meal. It can take a little while to get your order, but that's coz they're so busy. It's definitely recommended, but unless you're a potato freak stay clear of the veg one. read more

I've been to quite a few döner kebab restaurants in Berlin, and only Rüya makes their döner with such amazingly seasoned vegetables and potatoes. The portions are huge for a cheap price. The vegetarian döner is 3.60 Euros. There's also free hot tea! The staff is super friendly. Sometimes, one of the staff carries a lightsaber around and threatens you with "death" unless you answer his questions carefully. The only slight downside I can think of is that this place is so popular that you may have to wait about 20-30 minutes even on a Monday evening. But, trust me, the wait is SO worth it!! read more
