The rice and poppadoms were fine, but our Gobi Aloo was too bland and undercooked for my taste and the chana masala too oily. The chicken jalfrezi my boy and I pushed to one side after one bite, as it was made with huge chunks of chicken tikka of dubious quality. The sort of tough, dry meat I think of as 'catering meat', probably bought in big frozen bags of pre-cooked lumps. This is a personal thing, as I tend to be a bit precious when it comes to eating meat these days. I look forward to trying Colchester's other Indian restaurants on my future visits, in the hope of finding one which really is the town's finest.
