Sam has been my guitar teacher for over a year now. It has been a great experience! He regularly shares his insights into applying new strumming and fingerpicking approaches to the songs that I like. He allows me to use my phone to record him performing the material covered. This has been very helpful, to have his audio model to refer to throughout the week. You can expect to get some great material from Sam. Blues riffs sheets were good exercises for me to get started. These are very cool and a blast to play once you've got them down. Sam will listen to you and offer tips for improvement. I also love being able to bring in a sheet of music, which he will then demonstrate how to play, and, better yet, play it with me. It's a kick when he jams with you over a song! Sam is an effective instructor--one day's teaching will keep you busy for an entire week. He is also a gifted performer. When he plays pieces from his own repertoire, they are so expressive and masterful, they will go straight to your heart. Let Sam light your fire and open up a rewarding new world--maybe even inspire you to become a concert level musician like he is. Tip: drill daily at home around the lessons to show fast enough progress to not get discouraged, and also to show appreciation for the attention from such an awesome musician!

We hired Dan and the Left Coast Quintet for our wedding at the Safari Park and we're so happy we…read moredid. We hired them for welcome music, procession, recession, and a brief 15 minute cocktail hour. Working with Dan was great - he's super friendly and great at reminding us of deadlines. Choosing our songlist was challenging - especially because the quintet sends over this giant spreadsheet with hundreds of songs that they are able to play.. but luckily they knew the songs to match our general vibe. For the welcome music and cocktail hour, we were looking for broadway/Disney music with special emphasis on musicals/movies that we love. We had specific song requests for the processional and recessional. The Left Coast Quintet handled everything perfectly - they nailed our welcome/cocktail music (and we got so many compliments from guests). We were too busy taking photos to really enjoy it, but I'm pretty sure our best photos were when the quintet played Defying Gravity. The quintet also seamlessly looped Concerning Hobbits during our longer than expected processional which I really appreciated. It's a bit awkward because we never actually talked to the quintet.. they just sort of appeared before our processional and left after our cocktail hour.. Regardless, they did an awesome job and I'm super happy we hired them. Thank you for making our wedding great.
