I was looking for a new bathing suit and that can be tricky. I was welcome to try on whatever I wanted and was not rushed or encouraged to buy anything. They were not pushy thankfully. They have a beautiful assortment of bathing suits, sarongs, hats, sandals and even jewelry. The bathing suit I got has 24 Karat gold plating on it. The dresses and tunics they had brought with them were absolutely beautiful! I couldn't resist, so I went up and started chatting with them. The sisters are super charming, and very sweet. They told me about how they got their business started, apparently after traveling extensively through the Caribbean, they noticed the lack of stores that sold resort and beach couture, so they decided to start importing and selling it themselves. I met them when they were just doing small shows here and there, and today, after very much deserved recognition, they run an amazing on-line boutique! When I was looking through the items, I noticed this beautiful long dress, but it was an XS and I thought to myself "there's not way in hell I'm fitting into this". Lynne encouraged me to try it on regardless, she assured me that it was going to look beautiful on me, and lo and behold it did. In other occasions though, they've known when to recommend larger sizes because the item ran too small. This is what I love about them, they know how insecure women can be so they're super personable and helpful and really want you to look and feel your best. When I can't make it to one of their shows, I shoot them an email and they welcome me into their apartment, where they have the latest styles, and its truly one of the best experiences ever, super comfortable, one-on-one shopping...there's no better customer service!! Trust me when I say I'm definitely not a girly-girl, but when it comes to Nic del Mar, I allow myself to be. I thought about reviewing them because I was looking for something to wear to the Yelp Spice event at the Mandarin. It so…read moresad that every time we go to Merrick, we debate on whether or not to walk in the store because of how obnoxious the sales people are. Now I will say they are extremely nice and knowledgeable... But it's just too much. It makes us not want to even walk in the store. We really have to discuss it ahead of time because we can't shop without an employee hovering and listening to us converse amongst ourselves and literally making a comment on every single thing that we either say or touch. I understand the sales people make commission. They make that blatantly obvious. But it just reeks of desperation. They really need to just let people shop and leave them alone. It is such a small store and they don't even let you breathe. I would honestly rather just buy it online than have to deal with the customer experience in the store. Again, the employees are very nice, but just too pushy. I wish they would just stand back and let us shop uninterrupted. I am still trying to find a nice way to tell them to please not talk to us and let us look around. And that if we have any questions we will ask.

I…read moreforgot the name of the woman (since its been a couple of months!) who was helping us but I want to give her a shout out for going above and beyond during my time at the shop. I was there for probably around 2 hours total - as Agua Bendita has a huge selection of swim suits. The collection is such that you can easily mix and match tops/bottoms from the same collection for a new look. Also, I like that they apply a new sticker to bottoms for every time you try a new suit on - rather than other stores who leave the same sticker on for every person who tries it on (ick!). It feels super sanitary and clean. The woman helping us really took her time to help me find the right suit for me - she was so patient and kind and helpful. What I also loved was that she was incredibly honest as well - she didn't just try to push any and all suits on me. While I tried them on she would either nod her approval or shake her head with disapproval - and WE NEED THAT. I love that she believes in the quality of the bathing suits so much that she wouldnt willingly send a customer out in a suit unless its an actual 10/10 look. At the end of the 2 hours and maybe 100+ suit combination laters, I came out with two swim suits that compliment my body type a LOT. My fiance was there shopping with us and learned that even tho a suit may look a certain way on a model online - the way it actually looks on diff women's bodies is totally different! He was SO happy with the two suits I left with. I really appreciate the white glove experience that this woman offered me - I was really allowed to take all the time I needed to try on (or re-try on) different swim suits to see what I felt the most confident in and I really value that experience. For sure, the suits are a bit on the expensive side but you can tell the quality is top tier. The beading/detailing is sewn on by hand and I know that I will keep my swim suits for a long time. Anyway, I really really wish I got her name while shopping because I think about her all the time and how this was probably the best customer experience I've ever had in a retail setting (even better than going engagement ring shopping!) So - for corporate reading this - please find the woman staffed on Oct 12, 2023 at the Coconut Grove Miami location because she deserves a raise and a bonus. Not many folks working retail would go to this level to make a customer feel special.

The employees literally said that they can't make any decisions or else they'll get fired I think that's absolutely pathetic. Why hire employees if you can't trust them to make logical decisions to keep clientele. I'll never shop here again. The owner/manager finally wrote back to place fault me and say they will do me a favor by repairing the item and mailing it to me free of charge. Being sold a faulty piece should be exchanged and is a reasonable request especially within 24 hrs of being sold... the ankle bracelet broke in a place I couldn't break and my ankles are not at all big ... picture included of ankle bracelet. I'll be dropping it off in the morning. I will be following up on this review to give everyone an update how long it takes etc to get back. Customer service is how you keep business & gather more. This experience has been absurd.
