Price gouging and Indecent music combined with a good haircut. Walked into business with one customer in chair. Asked if barber if he took walk-ins. He looked at watch as if it was going to be tight although the store was to be open another 2+ hours. While waiting and in chair, rap music blaring in shop with n*gg*r and a**hole prominent in the lyrics. Previous customer charged $35. I asked for similar cut. I was charged $40. Asking why I was told "I am charging $40 from NOW on and he is a regular customer." I guess he does not need me or the other 800 employees of my company to become regular customers. When I told him the music was in appropriate, he said that shop employees had their own mixes and this was what came up. As a business you are responsible for the music to which you subject your customers. Unfortunately this was a sub-par performance because I did like the haircut. read more

I love an excuse to check out a new-to-me local business and that's exactly what I did today. I had gone about a month and a half without a haircut and was finally disgusted with myself. Normally, I go to Spanky's Barbershop in Covington, but my usual barber was booked for two weeks. I decided that this was a great chance to check out and support another great local biz. I booked an appointment on their website. The appointment was $25 (Stop by an ATM, they are cash only). It wasn't clear who the appointment was with, but I didn't really care. The barbershop is rather quiet, and if you're one who likes a haircut and conversation, this spot might not be right for you. But I also didn't attempt to talk to my barber either and he was super pleasant when we did speak. I did notice that they just sweep all of the hair into one corner through the day. It didn't really bother me, but I did notice it. At the end of the haircut, a warm towel was wrapped around my head. It was super relaxing. My haircut was quite pristine, it was styled perfectly. If you're searching for a "which is better" between Spanky's and Cutman, I'm not sure that you'll find that in this review. In truth, I like both and also think that both shops could learn a little something from one another. High five to Cutman Barbershop for this great haircut. Where will I get my haircut next? Not the best experience. I am new to the area and decided to just walk in without looking at the website. My first mistake and who knew a guy needs a appointment to get a hair cut in covington these days. I walked in the barber looked at the schedule and fit me in right away for a cut. Decent cut, no blow dry to get all the loose hair out of my hair and only a tiny mirror to check it out instead of being turned around to actually see the cut. At this point had no idea it was cash only as there were no signs in the window and the barber did not tell me anything before my cut even though he knew I was new to the area and just walked in. He tells me $35 and I went to get cash. While getting cash did a quick glance at the website and it does clearly say cash only but it also has the price being $25. I went back to pay handed him $40 and questioned the 35 vs 25 cost. He said his cuts were more expensive than the other guys and I said that's not what your website says. With a full attitude the guy throws $15 on the counter turns around mumbles something and at the end I hear f ing great. I left a tip on the counter and walked out. Won't be going back and recommend updating the website so the main page shows both prices, putting a cash only sign in the window and turning people around to be able to fully see themselves. read more

I am a fan of Cutman Barbershop and the work Tarris did to fix my beard and hair. It has been a few week since I had a good haircut and they were able to fit me in right away. Their website was easy to use to schedule the appointment and they are super friendly at the shop. I love the interior or the space. It is modern yet looks retro and a throwback to the olde time barber shoppes. I did enjoy my time in the chair with small talk / interacting with other patrons in the shop and the hair cut was done in a descent amount of time...30 mins for a cut and beard trim is perfect. no complaints about service, the shop, or the personnel. read more

A great barber for a great price, what more could you ask for? The first thing I noticed was going into Cutman was how 'cool' the place felt when you walked in. You can tell that they put in a lot of work in making the place feel like somewhere you want to be. I got a cut and a shave for under $40 which is a great price for the quality of the cut. This barber knows what he's doing and you can tell that he wants you to walk out with an amazing haircut. He puts in work to be a master of his craft and you can tell as soon as he chooses his weapons of choice. Make sure you book a reservation! He fills up quick so there's no guarantee if you walk in - however he tries to accommodate as much as he can. I went there for the first time in May to look fresh for my wedding and will be returning again soon! read more

I moved here several months ago and it was definitely hard to find a barber that knew exactly what I wanted. I stumbled on this place on yelp as I needed a haircut for an upcoming date. This is definitely the guy to go to. Even though it is by appointment only, this definitely reduced the time and effort that one would have to set aside for a haircut. Just moved to Cincinnati for a new job and was in need of a new barber. After doing some research I was consistently hearing great things about Cutman, so I decided to give it a try. A few things I look for when it comes to Barbers: - Price - Hours - Reservation Process Price: Very reasonable. About the same I was paying at my previous barber. Although it's cash only, there are plenty of ATMs around (it's in a really cool location!) Hours: Aside from the photos and the review, this is what sold me on Cutman. Tuesday-Saturday they're open until 7 which is awesome because I'm able to go after work during the work week. Working full-time, I used to be limited to Saturday mornings only, but not here! Reservation Process: VERY simple. With a quick download of the Resurva app, my appointment was a click away (and I was able to book the same day!) Tarris was awesome, my hair looked awesome and I definitely found my full-time barber in my new city. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Just stopped by here earlier today and could not be happier with my experience. Have two weddings and an interview for a promotion coming up and needed a nice cut. Booked a reservation on their website with Tarris two days prior. Was immediately welcomed when I came in and barely waited a minute before I was seated. Place was clean and the atmosphere was very chill with some relaxing tunes playing. I deferred to Tarris' expertise and asked for a long crew cut tapered on the sides, he took it from there and I could not be happier with the result. Was visiting Cincinnati from Los Angeles for a graduation party and decided to get a last minute cut. I would like to highlight that this hip and modern barber shop is extremely clean and fresh with a great aroma diffused in the air. I'm all about walking into businesses with a clean, neatly organized environment because it's a direct reflection of a business' management and services being offered to clients; they're on point. The haircut itself was excellent and my barber paid close attention to detail. Believe it or not, I feel as if this barber shop is more knowledgeable about hair and style than most LA barber shops... I'm probably in the vast majority when I say that Cutman Barbershop didn't blow me away both before and after my haircut. That's not to say it was a bad experience, but it wasn't anything that drives me to go out of my way to recommend this place. First off the positives: Standard haircuts are fairly priced at $25 and what you ask for is what you'll get. Pretty standard stuff at any barbershop, but at Cutman this is done very efficiently as my total cut time was around 30 minutes and I got exactly what I asked for with some minor requests thrown in there. My barber happily complied and there were no issues with my cut. He didn't talk much with me personally I didn't mind and actually prefer not too much talking during the cut. The interior is really small but it definitely gives off the vibe of both a classic barbershop with a modern layout which made me feel relaxed and cozy. Standard, effective, and no issues. On to the negatives: they only accept appointments. If you walk-in they'll recommend you go to their other location on McMillan St, but I don't know anything about that locale. They only accept cash (nothing new) so be prepared. They don't face you in the general direction of a mirror so whatever you're getting you can't make changes mid-cut until the barber puts a hand mirror in your face. Cutman is a solid barber don't get me wrong. I may come back for a visit or two but you can definitely find better and possibly cheaper cuts elsewhere if you try. However, if their cuts are perfect for you after your first visit stick with it. Like I said, you get what you asked for-nothing less, nothing more. read more

The perfect barbershop! The place is cool, music is good and it's about as clean and welcoming as you can ask for. I grew up going to a barbershop getting my haircut with my dad in Erlanger and this place has old school feel with new school looks. I got a fantastic beard trim and straight raze and Tarris couldn't of been more professional and is great at what he does. I will be back for sure!
