You do have to reserve a room in advance but, that's not a problem. I've gotten a conference room or a classroom for the entire day!!! This fact has helped local supporters note that the NE Ohio/Greater Cleveland area has one of the largest and most comprehensive public library systems in the nation. (Now if only the County could get every denizen to really educate himself -- and create some sort of brain bubble in the region. Just a wish.) This is a review of the Beachwood city branch, a small yet nicely remodeled facility. There are great nonfiction and children's sections; however, the fiction selection is a bit lacking. The Saul Eisen Reading Garden offers a tranquil, secluded reading space. For research projects, one might be better served at the Mayfield and South Euclid city branches (the latter is set in an exquisite old local castle-esque building). All of the branches -- east and west -- afford the opportunity to find a quiet place to get lost in a great piece of literature and/or media. Grade: A

Starbucks gets too rowdy after about 8:30 AM, and as a transplant I was at a loss as to where I should go to study. A friend suggested this branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. I can't vouch for the selection of books or the services they offer, but as a quiet study environment, this place is great! There are plenty of plugs for your computer (yay!) at each work station, so you don't have to bring an extension cord or awkwardly drape anything over your neighbor just for a hookup. My only beef was that the quiet cubbies were along the perimeter of the main room, which meant that it did get a little louder as the day went on. In any case, it beats the 'bucks, and helped me get my morning off to a productive start!

The 1st floor is the children's wing plus there are comfortable sofa chairs to sit on too. The 2nd floor has computers and printers to use. I think that there is also a meeting room in the basement. I haven't checked out any books from this library but they have plenty to choose from. The staff is some of the unfriendliest batch of library people I have ever encountered. There were two very helpful ones though! You two, keep on being great because your co-workers are grumbling Greta's. The one lady in the children's section...man I hope she was just having a bad/off day. I also had a heck of a time finding certain books I was looking for as they weren't where they should have been.

I visited this Cleveland Public Library location (South Branch) in mid-March 2026. FREE PRINTING AND SCANNING -- I needed to scan a few pages so I walked in and got help. Someone at the front desk led me to a printer and showed me how to scan my document(s). I believe I scanned more than 1 page and it was quick and easy. He also told me that the library offers free printing every day to library card holders up to a certain dollar amount (I think $2.50/day worth). The library is small but seemed to have a nice selection of books. While I didn't have time to browse through books, I did notice the selection of books when I walked in. Huge library! We…read moregave the kids section a visit. It is bigger than most libraries that we visit. They have tons of books and low shelves for the younger section. A great play area with train table, kitchen area, light table and other interactive toys for kids. There are computers for kid use. Along with other play are spread through the library. Near the circulation desk in the childrens section They have a list of all their programs which was diverse and for many ages. There is a pet Guinea pig. Plus some sort of interactive and themed area. Like writing a letter to Santa with reindeer food. My kids had a great time and can't wait to come back!

Wow! What a nice library! I stopped by to get my kids and I library cards and to find a couple…read morebooks for their summer reading. The desk clerk was friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they didn't have either books we were looking for, but we were able to reserve the books. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet, just as you would expect in a library. There were several rooms available for reservation. The computer lab had many computers as well as active users. This will be our go to library due to its proximity to our home.
