The Brookland CVS continues to be understaffed and understocked. They also continue to make errors…read morein a prescription for a maintenance medication. Earlier this year, CVS sent a text message stating that the Rx had been filled. When I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, they told me it was not ready and that they had to order my medication, which would take a week. At this point, I was out of medication. My only recourse was to go miles out of my way to pick up the Rx at a different branch across town. This week, I attempted to refill the same Rx, but the automated systems (both phone and computer) are set to refill the script in September. Someone at CVS keyed in my 30 day supply of medication as a 90-day supply. Again, the Brookland CVS refuses to take any responsibility, even though I picked up the Rx from them. They told me today that I need to go to the CVS across town to correct the error. I called that pharmacy, and left a message for the pharmacist AND called my doctor to ask her to send a new script to the Brookland CVS. This is for a script with multiple refills. This is unacceptable, and although I've complained multiple times, the only recourse I have at the moment is to report the issue here.

The only reason I can think of is because it is "east of the river". (I feel safe when I am in this shopping center. However my experience has been to go to the pharmacy when it is daylight or early evening when it still well lit. I cannot speak to what the shopping center is like at night.) Flexcare is not a big chain pharmacy but you can still easily find your basics from cold medicine to juice. The number 1 reason I continue to frequent this pharmacy other than supporting a small business is, the staff is extremely professional. I am always pleasantly surprised before even saying my name that one of the 2 head people who run the pharmacy welcome me by name. The 1 time I had a problem the manager called me to get my feedback and promised that he would speak with the person I had an unpleasant interaction with over the phone. In a nutshell if you live in the Hillcrest and/or Anacostia areas and you need some aspirin or to fill a prescription (also believe you can get your prescription delivered to you for free, if you're feeling too sick to go out and get it) and are not going to Flexcare you're missing a really a great opportunity to support a wonderful business in the community.

It's a good store because it is CVS and the store does close at 10pm. This location has a pickup or drop off UPS location inside next to the front counter with the cashier. As you walk into the store, You see all the medicine and medical supplies on the right and all the snacks, drinks, food and other miscellaneous items on the left. The store itself isn't bad for being in the area but it isn't the best either. This CVS does need an upgrade. It does look run down and doesn't look like it isn't taking care of. It just doesn't look like the modern locations in other areas. There is security inside this location. So I guess you can feel a little safer. The employees are mostly working their butts off but the manager doesn't look busy at all while there is a line at the counter. Every time this CVS get busy, the manager never steps in to help the employees at the counter, Not once. Kinda feel bad for them in my opinion. Good leadership comes great responsibility and that responsibility is something you need to learned from. The employees overall besides the manager is great and very professional and helpful. They are really nice and always wanted to help the customer. This CVS is cleanish if that make sense. The location is clean but just really run down like I said in my previous comment above. It's just really needs an upgrade and that mostly comes down to ownership of the store. I really don't recommend this location. There is another CVS like literally 8 minutes down the road and Walgreens across the street. If you do come to this location then get ready for bad management and long lines for the counter to check you items out. It's like waiting for a ride at an amusement park sometimes. Overall 2.1/5

No accommodations are available for folks less mobile. Always check your 'Best Before' dates on any items you pickup. This is one location where it is clear CVS has no regard for its patrons.

Big mistake! The stench is gone but the customer service was appalling. There were only two lines open while employees stood near the customer service counter on their phones. I asked one of the employees was customer service open because again I only had spaghetti sauce. The young lady, Chanelle asked me " For what? " in a rude tone. Then proceeded to scroll on her phone. When I got to my car, I called into the store and asked for Corporate's number. Same young lady, replied " Oh, I don't have that number. Do better!!! The job market is challenging right now and I'm sure someone would love to have a job. They need to train their employees on adequate customer service. Needless to say, this is my last time here.

They said it would be TOO MUCH work to fill out paperwork and prepare the vaccine for this customer. I asked them to please consider helping us. The pharmacy WAS NOT closed, and there were TWO people in line. They were not backed up. I pleaded with them because it takes so much work to get her out of the house safely and into the pharmacy. They AGAIN refused to do the service while they are open. There is NO sign or notice that affirms this choice they made today. It is unacceptable. I am so disappointed. How are you supporting your community when you turn away a fragile hospice patient on an oxygen machine because you don't feel like being bothered?
