Convenience stores…read moreare not just road side stops for snacks and gas, but staples in rural areas around here for many staples like milk, eggs, bread, etc. This relatively new Casey's located on the south end of Terre Haute is really quite nice. My parents live close by and had raved that the pizza was really quite good, so one night last week I said let's order pizza on-line from Casey's for dinner. Their on-line ordering system is straight forward to order a fresh hot pizza or even groceries. The list of grocery items is not extensive, but is OK for what a convenience store is. Their on-line ordering system was not without a few hiccups of occasionally freezing during the process, but in the end, I was able to place the order and set the time for pickup. You can either pay on-line in advance or at pick-up. Custom made with lots of options to choose from or ordering one of their suggested specials, there are plenty of pizza topping options. When I drove over to pick up our pizza and salad order, there were three people working behind the food counter and although not particularly chatty, they could not have been nicer. The girl who helped me indicated that she had tried to phone me to let me know in advance that a few things I requested on the salad were out. She wanted to make it right by me and was kind in letting me know, but I think I was so bowled over by her kindness, it did not even matter what they were out of. The store and food counter were clean, organized and welcoming. This is just a convenience store I realize, but I felt it was nicer than most. The gas pump area looked pretty clean too. The pizza had just come out of the oven, so I could easily see it was prepared fresh and was hot on our kitchen table by the time I got it home. The salad was nothing special, but it is a good single serving size and made with fresh ingredients. So for this end of Terre Haute, I am glad to know that this convenience store is located close to my folks in the event they need something and don't want to schlep to Walmart and deal with that racket.

I…read morehad a flat about 100 miles for Hometown Auto Repair and had a donut on my car with 350 more miles to home. Googled a tire service close and it gave us this place. Got off the interstate and drove a few miles to find it. When we got there, it was closed. My husband walked around back to find a man working on a project inside. He explained our circumstances and what we needed. The nearest other open tire repair service was about an hour back the other way. The nice man (assuming Tank) looked and found us the exact tire we needed to complete our journey. Definitely was a fair price and we paid him graciously and went on our way. Thank you so much and we couldn't have asked for better treatment and customer service.

A few of the…read moreemployees do genuinely try; however, it's a craps shoot if you're going to have an acceptable experiece (I've never had anything beyond acceptable), complete apathy, or abject rudeness from the employee. The pharmacy staff tend to be worse than the front end staff, but both are often so far below par that sub par would be a compliment. Past experiences have included having to complete the same forms multiple times because they misplace them, failing to following up on refill and transfer requests, and my favorite refusing to resubmit insurance requests when they make mistakes without cancelling the filled drugs and waiting for a new fill. Add this with the experience today where a cashier opens a new register lane at the photo department so it's unclear to the first person in line of she's open for customers or doing work, then not saying anything but helping a guy who just walks up ignoring me who had been waiting in line for a couple minutes and then chatting him up instead of working to clear out the line!
