I rarely if ever leave a bad review. If it's not a good review I say nothing .. But yesterday's experience was so upsetting I feel I have to speak up . This CVS location in particular is very chaotic and unorganized. I seldom go there which is unfortunate because it is literally 5 minutes from home and opened 24 hours .. I just don't feel like putting up with the shenanigans!! I have a dog that has been recovering from an injury for about 3 weeks now .. Pet owners know it is just like having a sick child and just as concerning . I was given a prescription from the Vet a couple of weeks ago .. I walked in to the pharmacy no questions ZERO ISSUES The same Vet gave me a refill on our follow up visit . I went through the drive through yesterday to drop off the paper RX the exact same Rx in the exact same format as I filled the last time The tech at the window brought it to the pharmacist ( a different person this time ) The pharmacy tech consulted the pharmacist and informed me it wasn't on the right paper .. I was informed I would have to come inside and speak to the pharmacist who flat out told me the RX was invalid I explained I filled the exact same Rx a couple of weeks ago I asked If she would check the system SHE WOULD NOT .. There was no offer of help no suggestion .. NOTHING not even an Im sorry .. Just a clear insinuation that I was somehow about to misuse my pet's prescription because anyone could just copy this and try to fill it !! I was embarrassed in front of a line full of customers!! Pharmacists take too much liberty to make and change rules .. If one pharmacist filled it the other should have .. Or maybe the one who filled it was in error Either way the rules should be across the board . If the pharmacist that filled the first Rx was wrong then fine explain that to me . The worst part was if the pharmacist on duty took a minute to look up my file she would have seen that I had a refill that was my error as well I hadn't checked first all this could have been avoided if I had I will also mention that that particular Rx is NOT a controlled substance at this time ..I ordered a refill from my CVS phone App the refill on file was also kicked back as it needed further information from my vet On the upside I will say my favorite thing about this CVS is the young lady with the dark curly hair that runs the front store register ... I believe her name is Kayla she is an absolute doll always sweet and ready to help and Alex the pharmacy tech who is always so pleasant and helpful I want to make sure these two ROCKSTARS get the proper credit for their excellent customer service .. (2 stars only because Joyce tried) My experience at CVS Pharmacy - 264 E Main St felt less like healthcare and more like interrupting a middle school sleepover that somehow has access to prescriptions. The main issues during my visits and calls involved Maria and Mina. Calling the pharmacy is an adventure. Instead of someone who knows... pharmacy things... you get background laughing, yelling, side conversations, and the vibe that you just dialed into someone's group chat. Patient notes? Apparently optional. Understanding what medical device or medication you're calling about? A fun surprise for everyone involved. Trying to explain what you need is met with Maria telling you, "You need a prescription for THAT," which would be helpful if the person saying it had even the faintest idea what "that" is. In person isn't better. Scanning a QR code? Too much effort if it requires stepping out from the window because it's cold. I'm sorry -- I'm the sick one. This is a pharmacy. Not a weather-dependent pop-up kiosk. Updating insurance information somehow becomes a group project no one wants to do. Mina was involved here, and the same pattern followed -- confusion, resistance, and an attitude that basic pharmacy tasks are an inconvenience. Communication is chaotic, professionalism is on vacation, and getting straight answers feels like asking toddlers to run a hospital. Joyce (front end/assistant manager?) was the only person who made a visible attempt to help, which is the sole reason this review is not one star. Healthcare is already stressful. Patients don't need to fight for basic competence, accurate information, or to be spoken to like human beings. If you enjoy guessing games, background noise, and staff who seem personally offended by having to do pharmacy work, this is your spot. If you actually need medical help? Buckle up. read more

It's worse than "not good" I don't know how I can get a prescription that was supposed to be ready 3 days ago. It is a recording so you can't actually talk to a live person. The recording wants the number I am calling from, the prescription # and I still get the same msg, no matter how many times I call. My prescription was supposed to be ready in 3 or 4 days. The recording will go into the prescriptions that I get from CVS, but can't make the recording of when I can get my prescription. After 4 tries I gave up. So, I still don't have my prescription and I will be out of it in a few days. I have to find another drug store to get my prescriptions. I can not deal with CVS in Marlborough any more. Oh, I just got a call at 1220 am and she yelled at me an hung up on me. I am so sick of CVS in Marlborough, if I have to I will change doctors too. I am so done with all these rude people. Here is my suggestion: If someone comes to the drive-thru pickup area and their prescription won't be ready within about 10 minutes or more, kindly ask that they return a bit later. I just spent 17 minutes waiting in my car behind someone who "had their prescription sent to another store". Why not simple ask them to come back in 15 minutes, and keep the queue moving? read more

The pharmacist at this cvs location is rude. I had gone there with my family to get some flu shot and they had some issues with their system. Instead of hearing me out and correcting their system errors she said I don't have time for this. She will only give shots to part of my family that show up on her system and refused to listen to me. She looked generally annoyed and probable overworked or untrained to be a public facing employee. I am very disappointed in cvs on their hiring/ managing of pharmacists. read more

Wonderfull staff that has been sacrificing so much of their own personal health and happiness to attempt to please the demands of disgustingly rude human garbage. Not a day goes by where the staff is able to just do their jobs; with the constant harrassment of repeat offenders who seem to crave the suffering they can inflict on others, to the overwhelmingly terrible ways that customers believe they can treat their healthcare workers, a happy and healthy workplace, this cannot be. Insurance issues are not the fault of the pharmacy; your insurance is at fault. A prescription being improperly written is not the fault of the pharmacy; its your doctor who is at fault. Your script not being "filled" on time, when you never called it in, refused to listen to the numerous phone calls, refused auto fills, and waited 3 weeks to pick up your meds is not the fault of the pharmacy, that is YOUR fault. Waiting too long on the phone too long; not the fault of the pharmacy: there are numerous patients in the store who come first. Your phone call about how your prescription being 8 cents more expensive than it was last time can wait. A prescription taking "too long" to be filled is not the fault of the pharmacy; it is the fast-foodification of the healthcare system in which waiting 15 minutes to ensure your medications dont KILL you becomes some sort of personal insult, as well as an inconvenience of which you will "never recover from", ie, your impatienence and utter lack of understanding as to how pharmacies function, is at fault. Stop treating those who are trying their hardest, through the middle of a pandemic no less, to keep everyone safe and healthy, like trash. They've suffered enough with the stress of the positions theyre in as is; don't make it worse for them because of your own ignorance and impatience. It's funny how quickly the pharmacy workers flip from being "heroes" to persoanl punching bags at the littlest inconveniences that are not even remotely in their control. Grow up. I'm sorry but when you need to call cvs and your on the phone for like 20min listening to there messages when all you want to do is speak to a person. It goes on and on. It's a JOKE and if you think it's easier it's not! All you're getting is very frustrated customers. Do better CVS at least at Walgreens you get a person right away. Dont Love it, But I needed to stop for Bandaids... So I did & then was mad that I spent more than they were at the Grocery store... CVS is sometimes a little pricey, but this one was crazy high... My husband needed antibiotics for a sinus infection. Went to doctor and they sent an electronic script to this pharmacy. He waited hours to go pick it up, and when he got there, no record of it at all being sent. The solution CVS gave my husband in store was to have the doctor's office call it in over the phone. I even called them, and the solution they gave me was the same thing: have the doctor's office call it in over the phone. When the doctor attempted to call it in about 10 minutes later, CVS said to them "We are too busy". I understand things are crazy with the pandemic and the rise in COVID cases, but this was unacceptable. read more

Why I'm Switching Pharmacies Forever, a true story by Dawn E: I have been sick. Like, REALLY sick. Biblical plague sick. And as much as I try to shake the residue of this illness, it's been sticking to my lungs like the tar in the cigarettes I never smoked but feel like I did. I can't seem to catch my breath, literally, which is why my doctor prescribed me an Abuterol inhaler and sent for some chest x-rays. CVS takes forever. I know this. I've accepted it. Whatever. So I watch my doctor send over my prescription (for an item that's already boxed and just needs a label, mind you) at about 3:30pm and I decide to drive right on past CVS to the hospital for my x-ray. An hour or so later (plus travel time, so like 6) I call CVS and they inform me my prescription isn't ready so I go to Marshall's and wander around. Slowly, mind you, since I am having trouble breathing. Sometime after 7 I make it to CVS. I'm on the phone with my mother and commenting how there's a line. She says I should have gone through the drive-thru and I respond to her I never think of the drive-thru, I should have done that and the woman behind the counter looks up at me with disdain. Okay, so pharmacy employees aren't fans of the drive-thru. I'm not IN the drive-thru. It gets to be my turn and I step up to the counter and give the woman my information, slowly, because it's hard to talk and breathe simultaneously. (This is a different woman, FYI.) She runs through a bunch of hoopla and tells me they don't have my prescription. (FYI - I have just finished listening to another woman argue that she confirmed with her doctor that they sent over her prescription 3 times and this is the third time she's back and they tell her to pretty much go screw - not those words, but you get it.) But I insist and it turns out it's in some rando basket why on the other side having nothing to do with any work. So a woman shouts "I have it here" and then the woman I'm talking to tells me it'll be five minutes. Seriously? It's already in the damnable box. Now I am annoyed, which makes it even HARDER to breathe. I wished I had an inhaler... oh wait... So I sit down and I'm concentrating on my breathing when finally my name is called but I have to wait for them to finish up with another guy and then I go. The woman behind the counter is now holding my prescription which I more and more desperately need just out of reach while she asks me question after question. My breathing is CLEARLY labored and I'm starting to hyperventilate. But hey, it's more important to know about my CVS card even though I'm reaching for the bag like it's an oasis and I've been crawling through the desert for days. Finally, I lean over and rip the bag out of her hands, open it, open the box. Take out the inhaler and... SUCCESS. She already had my credit card so I got it back by then and then I had to sit in a waiting chair for a few minutes until my breathing slowed before I could leave. The whole time, this girl's attitude was impartial at best. I can say with some definitivity (yes, I just made that word up) that, unless my life depends on it, I shall not ever do business with that pharmacy again. In other words... Not sure if this is a pharmacy or a circus. This place REALLY deserves 0 stars. Too many mistakes to list: incompetent staff, arguing with customers, some of whom were aggressively screaming and pointing at elderly customers. Not to mention my prescriptions weren't filled after two weeks of waiting. Unprofessionalism runs extremely high. The person who "helped" me (helped isn't the right word) functioned like a chicken with his head cut off. While I could name names, I won't bother cause I'm sure this behavior will catch up with them eventually. I'm NEVER getting medications filled at CVS again. The store itself has nice people who work there and try to be as helpful as they can. But their pharmacy has to be the worst for getting prescriptions and there's always a line. They have a text service to let you know when prescriptions are ready and can pick them up. Well my son received a text a couple of days before that his prescription was ready and guess what....it was NOT and had to wait 30 minutes.....Really! I actually had to come into the store to check if everything was ok with him. If he didn't need the prescription right away I would have told him to leave them. I would rather go to a different CVS for sure. read more

The Pharmacy is as bad as everyone says. It's actually kind of impressive how poorly the pharmacy is run at this CVS. The line is routinely down the aisle and full of disgruntled customers who have been waiting for 15+ minutes, all the while there is only one register open and other pharmacy techs just watching from behind the counter. Once you do make it to the front of the line, the person on the register is typically slow and unfriendly. As bad as the pharmacy techs are, management is clearly to blame here. don't trust this store with any pharmacy or photo orders because i brought my disposable camera in to be developed and they never sent out the order. as i spoke with managers and cvs help lines to track down my camera, the employees at this store had insane attitude and no interest in helping me. my order was permanently lost and i was told there is no possibility for me to be refunded or anything because it's "not their fault" that my order wasn't sent out. read more

I have read that there have been many complaints about the Marlboro CVS. I must strongly disagree. I deal with the pharmacy almost weekly. I found that Mr. David Sikes, and Kylie crabtree most helpful. They are easy to deal with them. They always greet me with a smile and are well trained. Worst pharmacy staff ever! This is the store on Main St, in Marlborough, MA. Store #220. Don't go there! Twice in the last week I get emails telling me that my pain medication is ready for refill. I go to their online site to refill the medication and then get a call from the store that they cannot refill it until June 17. Last time the pharmacy tech tells me that the prescription has been entered into the computer and will be ready on the morning of June 17. This morning I call to see if it is ready and guess what? They are out of stock! After supposedly entering the prescription twice in the last two weeks. They have a long history of "losing" prescriptions, prescriptions not being ready when promised. This is the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm transferring all my prescriptions to the Walgreen in Hudson, MA. read more

This pharmacy harasses you telling you your prescription is ready. Great! These calls are automated btw. Then you go to get it and they don't have it, don't know anything about it, are not sure when they'll have it, its out of stock after your order has been confirmed. When I ask if they have it at another cvs the staff thinks I want to call and track down this medicine this location haa promised to have prepared for me. If you tell me have it and you don't and there I am in the drive thru without the medicine the least you could do is call neighboring stores and see who can serve me when you have failed to do what needed to be done. This I feel is customer service. Thanks! These scenarios have happened as I have picked up medicine for me (or attempted to) as well as medicine for my family. This review is for the pharmacy. If you don't have copious amounts of free time then I plead with you to please, find somewhere else to get your meds. I don't know why I continually torture myself when I should have moved my prescription to rite aid months ago- this place is always mobbed. I have been there in the morning, afternoon, & late at night- there is always a line and my script is never ready. I'm on automatic refill!! How is that even possible? The place is always understaffed and the employees that ARE working have no sense of urgency when waiting on customers. Today when I arrived there was a line halfway down the aisle (as usual). When I finally get to the counter they tell me that it's still processing and will be 5 min... I cringe, but I shouldn't be surprised- this happens every month. I say I'll wait the "5 min" and have a seat.. Been here for 15 min so far so I've decided this time will be used to let the world know- save yourselves!! Nothing is worth this!! I agree with all the pharmacy one star reviews. These people are not paid to think and it shows. I've been trying to a get a prescription for 2 weeks and nothing. We're about to run out of A Critical script and they throw their empty hands in the air. This has been going on for as long as I have been dealing with them. "Oh sir would you like us to call your physician to get a new script" they ask? I'm getting as brainless as they are, because I continue to give them another chance. Oh they call alright, but if the answer isnt right then and there, your request hits the circular file, and the only way you'll know it is if you call them back and ask what the status is. What ever happened to follow through, and thats my responsibility? These people wouldn't qualify to sell balloons, they'd find a way to screw that up. Come on America we can do better than this. Customer service is awful. Just left the store with a sour taste in my mouth. A worker - Older gentlemen with glasses there was the rudest worker I've ever come across and I've met a lot of people in my life. After scanning my item and tossing it basically back at me on the table possibly damaging the goods, I asked him if I can put my phone number in to look up my store card, he told me that I should've told him in the beginning (not like it makes a difference). My issue is with the pharmacy. Twice they've made the same error. After the first time I filled a sript here, I called and complained they put on a child proof cap on my meds even though I signed the release that it I declined the cap. Went back with a new script. Handed it to the pharmacist (per her name tag) and made a point to remind her, no child proof cap. Before releasing the script, I signed the release. Guess what. They screwed it up AGAIN. I am hoarse and short of breath and the electronic voice kept saying it could not hear me and hung up on me. How in the world do people who are hard of hearing connect to the pharmacy?? Why is the voice not programmed with a menu: ex. 1 fir pharmacy, etc. How dies someone like me get in touch? I need my medications. This is one of worst pharmacies. It seems there is never enough staff for the volume of business they do. I have finally switched to another and wish I had done so a long time ago. This location consistently failed to refill my automatics prescription, did not notify if out of a medication or if I needed MD approval. I stood in long lines and on one occasion waited in the drive- thru more than 20 minutes before being acknowledged even after ringing the buzzer. They would auto dial me for seasonal sales pitches for flu shots, allergy season etc. I would answer the phone thinking it was important only to hear a computer voice trying to sell me something. I am sure this is corporate practice and not specific to a store but it is annoying. read more

24 hour pharmacy right up the street, as opposed to the Walgreens that closes around 8pm. Wonderful! We switched to CVS because of this and the fact that our prescription drug coverage is now under CVS Caremark so it seemed like an easier deal all the way around. Boy oh boy did we get schooled... We took our new Caremark coverage to CVS to pick up my son's prescription, they said it didn't cover him because it was under my name... wonderful. So we had to use my AAA card to get any sort of discount. I went back and spoke to my benefits office and they said that CVS should have been able to easily process this because my son was on our coverage. They gave me my wife and son's individual numbers to take back to the pharmacy. That did us no better... We wait for 20 minutes at the drive through line while the pharmacist tried to figure out our card. Finally, he came back to the window in a rather gruff voice like he had just done us some kind of favor said that he'd just gotten off the phone with the insurance, that the card was the same as the AAA discount and so we were already in the system. This made no sense at all. They couldn't put us in the system last time, we tried that! So we asked how much the prescription would be... $200 they said. Yeah, I don't think so. That same prescription was $20 when we were under Medco. There is no way the coverage under caremark is THAT bad. We came home, I checked again with my benefits office, and logged into the caremark website... What a surprise. With our card, the prescription is $20 at CVS and $10 at Walgreens. Now I don't know if this was incompetence, negligence, or if they were seriously trying to rip us off, (Usually I'll give people the benefit of the doubt, but given the pharmicist's attitude...) but frankly I don't care. Ten to twenty times the actual price is a pretty ridiculous mistake to make. Needless to say, we're going back to Walgreens, we've had enough. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy customer service ever. They're nicer in the Boston pharmacies, who wait on way more people, and have to process way more meds... its absolutely ridiculous. I have NEVER had my Rx "ready" when I've come to get it. It's been lost, missing and my favorite is when they deny I called and they tell me I should "call to make sure my fill-by-phone went through" Sorry, wth is the point? ...this isn't brain surgery. Much improved. Scripts now filled faster. More of the staff are well trained in insurance issues. Haven't had a problem in quite awhile.

I would give a 0 rating but unfortunately that option is not available. There is one particular pharmacist (S. Parekh) who I believe is very incompetent , unprofessional and arrogant at this store (264 E Main St, Marlborough, MA). Not one but two times she did not care to check my insurance and provided wrong information. First time she said the medication was not covered but I could pay out of pocket and so and so will be monthly charge. I quickly called my insurance (which is part of the same company - Aetna) and it is fully covered. I go back I get it with full coverage from another person within the same pharmacy. Few other times with other staff all goes fine. This time today, I went there again and there is Ms Parekh again. She asked for my name and DOB, I tell her, she does not understand and then I give her my driving license. She asks me say it loud, she does not want to read when at the first place she does not understand what I am speaking and keeps repeating wrong spelling of my name. Then I am asked to wait. I had just been there half an hour ago and another tech had asked me to come half hour later. I had gone after half hour and the prescription is still not ready. My god!!! Finally I get it and go home. When I go home and check the label I see that my insurance information was not entered correctly and I was charged almost full retail price. I called my insurance and they told me my insurance info was not entered. I had to drive back again and asked for the manager. There were the same 2 people working and both kept quiet. Ms Parekh saw me and asked the other guy to help. When I asked him if my insurance info was entered for this medication he went and checked and said something else popped up itself in the system by itself so it was charged almost full price with some discount coupon. Isn't it their job to check the insurance information? If I hadn't checked myself they would keep on taking money for the medication while I am paying equally high premium for insurance to the same company. And, they keep such unprofessional pharmacist. She did not even care to apologize for her mistake. So rude!!! I do not want to be served ever again by this person. She is an asian lady, most probably of Indian origin looking at her name in my prescription label. I saw the way she behaved with other customers as well. She deserves to be removed!! I will definitely ask for another pharmacist if I see her there again or totally change my pharmacy provider if that does not happen. Worst service from any pharmacy ever in my life.
