We ended up choosing a terracino, which was a wedge of roasted almond ice cream. We learned more history about the ice cream company, and then headed down the street to check out the original ice cream HQ down the street which is now a French patisserie!

How lucky were we that this place is open 24 hours!…read more An airport mishap caused our bags to go missing and probably won't make it to our hotel until the next day... maybe two... so we stopped by to score basic needs - mostly toiletries. Staff was friendly - even during odd hours of the night - "You have no toiletries?" (Clearly she knew we were tourists.) We explained the whole missing bags thing to clear that up. They had everything we needed - clothes included - because who knows how long before our bags get delivered! Prices were reasonable - none of the tourists rates some places charge. What made it better is that it was only a couple of blocks away from our hotel. We returned a couple more times during the week for more basic stuff - mostly snacks, water and other rehydrating drinks. What I mostly appreciated is how conveniently located it is. In the situation we were in, we were grateful for it being where it is!

There inside was closed due to the Corona Virus. We went through the drive through. We came back through about ten minutes later and the had it ready. The only thing I did not like-I had to pay taxes on medicine. But, that is Louisiana's problem and fault. No one should ever have to pay taxes on medicine. But, I am from Florida! What do I know?

I was greeted by one of two attentive cashiers and wasting no time my prescription was being filled. What stood out was their fast pace service without the chaos. That was very impressive. After 15mins I was walking out the door with my meds. Delta Drugs also has bandages, canes and many other first aid meds available on the shelves. The actual pharmacy is small but their inventory is large.

I was about to spend four nights at a writers' conference and had the foresight to drop in and buy a bottle of Advil. If you've been to one Walgreens, you've kind of been to them all, but this one surprised me by keeping its Advil locked up in plastic cases while leaving its entire supply of Sudafed out. The case on my Advil was large and unwieldy, making it slightly more difficult to shoplift. Seems like a wash, though, with the added cost of locking up individual products. At least it was easy to grab the Advil without assistance and check out at the register, where an employee quickly unlocked my purchase. Anyway, that Advil came in handy once I engaged in my premeditated bouts of drunken revelry. I have no particular love for Walgreens, but I'm glad I came across this one when I did.
