Signed up for vaccinations on line. They closed and did not let anyone know on line. Several people waiting no employees. Very bad

You need to fire your pharmacist Megan!…read more I've been going to Stuarts Draft Family Pharmacy since we moved here in 2018. I accept that they are a small town pharmacy and often don't have, have to order, or can't get some of my prescriptions and I'm always flexible despite the inconvenience. However, today when the pharmacist Megan refused to fill a prescription for one of my long-standing medications and told me I needed to "tell my doctor that he needed to write another one for a lower dose" I could not believe what I was hearing. This is a medication I've been on for seven years. This is the same dose I have historically been on. This is not a narcotic medication, it's used for my MS. Where in the world does the pharmacist get off Practicing Medicine by overruling my doctor and deciding the dose of my medication??? That is between me and my doctor and we've already discussed it in office, he wrote for it, his office faxed it in and I believe they even had to do a prior-authorization. Sorry, Stuarts Draft Family Pharmacy, this is a 20 year-old on a POWERTRIP trying to overrule my DOCTOR who has been practicing medicine for longer than she's been alive. You need to fire her and then I'll come back. (will miss the rest of you, especially the senior pharmacist- and sorry for venting my frustrations to Stephanie, obviously you were being used as a shield by this egomaniac, and from your reaction, I'm sure it's not the first time)

Pharmacist playing Doctor…read more.. On 05/08/2018, my doctor prescribed a refill of the same medication I've been taking for quite some time. After waiting a while for the prescription to be filled, I called the pharmacy, as I normally do, to see if it was ready to be picked up. Whoever answered the phone informed me that there was an issue with my medication, said the pharmacist would be contacting my doctor, & told me to call back tomorrow. Okay, not a problem. I wasn't thinking anything of it at that point because there have been times in the past when the pharmacist simply wanted to confirm everything with my doctor for insurance purposes. On 05/09/2018, I called the pharmacy around 11 AM to see if whatever the situation was had been taking care of. When I was told that nothing had been done because they were waiting for me to contact the doctor & then my doctor contact them back, I asked to speak to the pharmacist himself in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue...My first question was why was I told he would be contacting my doctor if I was expected to? He had no answer for that. My second question was quite simple: What's the problem with my prescription? The Pharmacist's answer was, "I'm refusing to fill this prescription because the dosage is too high & you need to be weaned off of it." Say what now? My doctor has been prescribing this specific medication in this specific dosage for a reason. (Just a quick background into why I'm on certain medications: I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy & I deal with chronic pain on a 24/7 basis because of complications that can't be corrected surgically.) Already being in pain & having my prescription delayed because the pharmacist decided to play doctor put me in a rather short & snappy mood to say the least, so I called my doctor's office & explained what was going on to the nurse (she is such a sweetheart & always makes me feel better whenever I have questions or problems, but that going to be in a completely different review - with significantly more stars). This is when the situation becomes a bit comical, at least in my opinion. As I was telling the nurse that the pharmacist was refusing to fill my prescription because the dosage was too high, she started chuckling & without missing a beat asked the rhetorical question, "Is he a Pharmacist or a Doctor?" She then comforted me by saying, "He's not your physician & he isn't the one who has spent time getting to know you as a patient & a person. There is nothing to worry about because he can't dictate what the doctor wants you to take." About an hour later, she called me back to let me know that she had spoken with the pharmacist & wasn't impressed, but the situation had been taken care of. My doctor called the pharmacy himself & within 2 hours of that happening, I had my prescription & finally some relief from the pain (the pain is never completely gone, but tolerable most of the time with proper medication). Always Look on the Bright Side: Even though it can be quite frustrating when someone with a certain job tries (using the word "tries" very loosely) to do a different job in which they have absolutely no business doing, being persistent pays off. We, as customers, don't have to simply accept the answers given to us, ESPECIALLY when it comes to our health & well-being.

They go out of their way when things go wrong with a prescription that was called in by a doctor or other medical person by calling them directly to fix the problem. Great service and conscientious employees.
