The store will stock most basic instruments for immediate sale. They will order other instruments in, but, if you're looking for something better than stock you'd be better going somewhere where you can try before you order. The store offers a hire and buy scheme for those just starting out and who are unsure whether they will want to purchase an instrument. A repair service is offered which will be good enough for most school grade instruments. Most of the music for the common exam syllabi is stocked although you'll find less for the higher grades. Staff are generally knowledgeable although they tend to be jack of all (instruments) rather than specialists. Music lessons for keyboard and guitar are available in store and come recommended. And in stores such as Gamlin's, there is so much choice, and so many people asking you questions about what you're looking for that there is a small element of intimidation. That's not their fault; it's a symptom of their dedication to their field. In Pencerdd Cyf though, you have the perfect balance. The reverence for the instruments and the knowledgability that comes with it is there, but there's no sense of "us insiders, you outsiders". Instead, there's an atmosphere of community in the store; an atmosphere that fosters musicianship. If I could combine the service here with the stock of Cranes, you might just have the perfect music store.

They stock a good range of things in this shop although the majority are guitars. They also teach instruments in the studios above. Next door (linked inside the shop) there is a repair studio, headphone and disco shop. As there are no other music shops in Bedford, prices aren't very competitive. If you are interested in music and live in Bedford, going to this shop is a must!
