Brought my E bike here to have an upgraded rear sprocket and rear derailer put on Greg did a great job. Also, I have two of these E bikes . I bought one at another shop, and one at this shop. The buying experience here was far superior than the other shop The bike was put together well, they gave me all the included tools when I arrived, they made all the adjustments on the bike to fit it to me, at the other shop none of that happened. Horrible experience trying to buy a bike. Put down a deposit in March for 2 Trek bikes that were supposed to arrive in late April. One bike did arrive in May but we were never told that it had to be picked up within 24 hours or they would give it away - and give it away they did. As others have mentioned, they don't call you when a bike is ready for pick up, and when you try to call, they tell you to call back later most of the time. Most of the employees have no idea how to use their inventory system, and will tell you to call back on Tuesday when the owner is in the shop. I've wasted hours calling them a dozen or more times over the past couple of months. With little in the way of an apology, we were then told that we would now probably have to wait until November for the bikes. If we had known the customer service would be so subpar, we would have placed the order directly with Trek. While it would still have been a wait, at least they don't just give away reserved bikes to others. read more

I took my wife's ebike in to have a couple of bent spokes replaced on the front wheel. An older man (the owner?) came out from behind the desk and was firmly rude and refused to repair any part of any ebike that he had not sold. He did offer to charge me $250 to disassemble and reassemble my bike and then replace the two spokes. UNBELIEVABLE attitude. Meanwhile, behind me the mechanics were repairing a Walmart bike, that obviously Cycle Fit had not sold. Over the years I have bought two bicycles from Cycle Fit and been happy with their service. I love these guys. I'm a local youth mountain bike coach for the Delco Composite MTB team and I couldn't recommend this shop more. They care about the work that they do, they care about their customers, they are phenomenal mechanics, and they are straight with you about what's going on with your bike. When you complain about a company on yelp for getting your 14 year old child's hopes up about a bike, and never delivering it; this is what happens. But seriously....Thanks for sending my son's money back and canceling his order, instead of tracking the package or attempting any customer service. Good thing I called the supplier, like you invited me to do, they were able to ship me a bike in 5 days. The supplier found your shipping estimate of 6 weeks by boat, comical. Guess it only takes 6 weeks for bikes to get to your business. Probably should have ordered it like you said you did, or just have been honest about the fact that either you forgot and never ordered it or sold it to another person by accident. Fortunately for my son, I had the money to purchase another bike from SE while he waited to get his money back from your company. Also, thanks for the auto cancel, avoided the awkward call later today. For me....SE used DHL to ship it from China, so shipping only took 2 days. They also shipped it on 8/27, 3 days after I ordered it and provided me with order, shipping and tracking updates the whole time. Good faith my butt, the only thing you did that was good was tell me to google the manufacturer and call them myself, or my son may have been without a bike and money. Liars and thieves! I've been a resident of Wallingford for over 20 years. Was desperately trying to find a cycle shop and landed at Cycle Fit. Since that time, I've purchased all my bikes from them. I've run into them supporting the American Cancer Society rides, the Multiple Sclerosis 150 ride and other fundraisers. The team found a pretty major issue. Explained it to me, and flawlessly fixed my bike in a record turnaround to ensure I could train without any major interruptions. When I picked up my bike, I noticed that the bike looked different. The team had gone above and beyond in cleaning the chain and polishing the frame. Cycle Fit is a great example of an outstanding local bike shop. I just purchased a new Trek Domane - my first in 12 years. Ray spent 45 minutes with me making sure I was happy with the fit and answering any/all questions I had about the bike. I left feeling confident I had selected the right bike. I had an unfortunate mishap with the bike on day 2 and returned it to the shop. Ray stopped what he was doing, spent another 20 minutes problem solving the with me and made sure I was fully satisfied with the solution. I had my bike back, good as new within 2 days. While I know it's possible to find cheaper prices on the internet for some biking equipment, I prefer to purchase all biking equipment and apparel to support our local bikes shops. read more

Over the years I have purchased *2 little girls bikes. * 1 adult bike for the same female( daughter). Which BTW all 3 have been donated to others and are still in use. * 2 of my own bikes. Businesses like Cycle Fit are a perfect example as to why some things should never be bought off the internet, primarily bikes. I have bought two bikes from them over the last few years, one a mountain bike that gets heavy use and another was a hybrid road bike that I used when I worked in New York City (I since sold it when I changed jobs). Not only were both bikes a perfect match for my needs sold to me by people who know what they're doing but the aftercare has been exemplary. Each time I've gone in for service the jobs were done quickly, exactly as I wanted and with an excellent cost to boot. My 14 year old son, saved up and used his own money ($455.00) to purchase a bike on July 8. Even paid it in full on that date. When we ordered it, we were told a shipment of the bikes was recently ordered and it was already en-route to the store and it would arrive in "two weeks". It is now August 24, still do not have a bike nor do I have any idea when to expect it. I do understand shipping delays. However, I cannot understand why a bike that we were told was already on its way two months ago, is still not there. Cannot provide any other information, like tracking information. Apparently the people who ship this place's bikes do not provide tracking information. Nor can I get an explanation as to why, despite that when we purchased the bike, we were told a shipment of the bikes were ordered and it would be there in two weeks, that shipment has now been delayed 2 months. In addition, the only way I get an update is if I call. Nobody calls to let us know the status of the bike nor do I think they even care. Since they already have my money, when I call, I just hear "it's not in yet. Be here in two weeks." Again, nothing else. No tracking information, no ordering date, no shipping date, no nothing. Fortunately, I am an attorney so I will be researching the PA Consumer Fraud laws and taking the appropriate action. However, that does not do anything to help my son who saved his money and was very excited to buy a bike and is now left disappointed. Do not let this place disappoint your child .....run now. Awful, awful, awful.....I will never do business here ever again. read more

This place is awesome! Having purchased my grandson's bike there nearly 2 years ago, they helped fit it to him, add a kickstand, get him the right helmet, and show me how to help him as he learned with training wheels. Still not yet 4-years old, he's riding without training wheels and having a blast. So of course when I got a bike, I returned! I had not rode a bike in years and wanted to enjoy the nice weather bike riding. I called the shop after I reserved a bike online and asked about another similarly priced bike. Greg, the manager, explained to me that one bike was more performance, and the other bike was more for comfort which help me make my decision. When I got to the shop, Greg fit me to the bike making sure the bike size was appropriate for me, and also adjusted the seat and handlebars appropriately. When I showed Greg my trunk bike rack, he said he always looks up the racks online to verify that they are suitable for the customer's car. My rack was not suitable for my car. Greg took the time to show me how to takeoff and put back on the front tire of the bike so I could fit it into my car. He even suggested I videotape him so I'd have a reference later. When I had spoken to Greg on the phone, he had mentioned that he gets off at 5 PM but assured me plenty of folks would be there to help me when I arrived. Due to traffic, I did not make it to the shop until 5pm and Greg took care of me for the next hour. The customer service was exceptional and it was really nice to find a bike shop that stayed open until 8 PM on weekdays. read more

Some places can make you feel inferior if you're shopping on a budget. That's not the case at Cycle Fit. They have a great selection of bikes, parts and clothes in all price ranges, and if they don't have what you're looking for in stock, they can get it for you. I heard good things about the store. I think I was wrong. I came to buy a bike for my daughter and when I arrived I found 6 men just standing around talking. One guys asked me if he could help me. I replied I wanted to to speak with someone on buying my daughter a bike. He asked me to stand out side and someone would come talk to me . 5 minutes later a woman pulled up and went in with her three daughters. I was thinking the guy was going to tell them that we were next. Instead. He's waiting on them. Then an older couple came in and someone took care of them . We waited for 10 minutes. I'm not one to normally write reviews, but the service I've received at Cycle Fit warranted a few words. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. I showed up looking to decide between two different bikes. The manager walked me through the differences between the two, made suggestions and allowed me to take a quick test spin on each bike around the shop area. Having that ability to actually ride the bikes made all the difference. They also did a nice job fitting me with the right size bike. I left with a new Trek Verve 2. I had never bought a bike from a bike shop before. Every one that I owned had come from Sports Authority and the like. So keep that in mind. My wife had recently updated to a used Trek 7000 she bought off a coworker. We live in Wallingford and use bikes to commute into Media, for light exercise and small errands. I used to use it to commute in college and grad school as well. My old bike had seen better days and was a cheapo to begin with, so I decided it was time to upgrade. Our neighbor recommended Cycle Fit. I was nervous going in. I really was, I didn't want to be hassled with a salesperson trying to up-sell me something I didn't need - we had a budget, which for most bike shops would be considered low-end. All those fears were eased when we were introduced to James. I explained what I wanted, what it would be used for and how much I wanted to spend. He sized me up, picked out a very nice Fuji and it was love at first sight. The best part - it was well within our budget! They tuned it while we waited, even replaced the rear derailleur because it wasn't shifting as fluidly as they liked. Oh yeah, it was closing time and both James and the mechanic stayed late to help us out. James was very helpful throughout the whole process - he even offered for me to bring the bike back the next day since they were closing and put me on a trainer with the bike so I could get used to the gears, etc, which I unfortunately couldn't take him up on.
