Milas and the owner (I sadly didn't get her name!) were both so welcoming and friendly. We had great pre and post workout conversation, and Milas absolutely rocked it on the mic! What a great coaching voice. I even got to talk with some members over some friendly competition. I love going to OTFs when i travel and this one made me feel right at home. Huge floor space too which is a PLUS! Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

If it is your first time taking a class, they require you to arrive early and become acquainted with the facility. You will be assigned an arm-based heart rate monitor. A calculation will determine your different heart rate zones. If you are a regular, the system can be recalibrated to you specifically since some people will naturally have higher/ lower heart rates. As it gets closer to class time, participants begin to arrive and congregate in the lobby. The instructor will explain the heart rate zones to you. Essentially, the more time you spend in the "orange" zone, the higher your EPOC or "afterburn," as they'll explain it, will be. Everyone does a progressive warm up on the row of treadmills, or rowers (I think. I was on a treadmill, so I am not sure what the people behind me were doing). I LOVE the Freemotion i109b reflex treadmills. These are great for this type of class format because they are easy to just jump on and immediately get going with individual buttons for the speed, and inclines. This way you avoid pressing the up button a bunch of times to get to your desired speed and the same goes for incline. I was able to run the fastest I have ever run on a treadmill because of the ease of reducing speed after the sprint. If you hit a max speed on a traditional treadmill, it is a safety hazard to press the down button and wait for the treadmill to get back to a lower speed. Overall, quality of equipment is on point. The class format on this day was a circuit in which the first time through there were 4 rounds, 3 rounds, 2 rounds, 1 round. The actual workout was 50 minutes. There was a 5-minute warm up and 5-minute cool down/ stretching. The "weight room" consists of TRX, bosu balls, mats, and some light dumbbells. It was during this portion of the circuit that I took some issue. Though the exercise was demonstrated up on the TV screen, I was slightly unclear at times how many reps I was supposed to be doing. Being an exercise professional myself, I am proficient with exercise form. My fellow classmates were struggling with form. Though they were told what exercise to do, there was very little instruction on form, and during the workout, the instructor did more motivating than form correction. This could lead to injuries down the road and just an overall less effective exercise. The class was mainly a cardio class despite the bit of strengthening that was incorporated. If you are a number driven person, this class will motivate you because you can see how much time you spent in the various heart rate zones. That said, if you're self-motivated, you could achieve the very same thing by purchasing your own personal heart rate monitor and working out to stay in the specific heart rate zones on your own.

It's the best way to get some calories burned while jamming out to some great music. As long as your moving you're doing it right is the motto they profess so don't be scared to cut loose and groove. Be aware that they don't take any breaks but if you need to stop feel free. Classes are held in the school cafeteria. It's very easy to find. The dance moves are very easy to catch onto. I danced with Erica and some of the other ladies of the Jam CLT when they were with another company and it felt like home to be with these ladies again. They do some of the same dance moves from before and they have some new choreography to new songs. The musical selection ranges from Hip Hop to R and B to Pop to Country to Broadway all in one class. You are guaranteed to leave with a new favorite dance move or song!!! Thank you Erica Butler and the amazing women of The Jam CLT for keeping exercise fun in the Queen City!!!! I am so glad they formed this company and will continue the phenomenal work they do.

The staff is always friendly and the gym is pretty clean. They never run out of wipes, which is appreciated in our current environment, and have them spread all around the gym. There's a huge exercise room for classes, although I have yet to take a class here, and also a nice size training room. The gym isn't that big, so it was surprising when I saw how much they packed inside. I think you get your moneys worth with a membership here. Depending on the time of day, parking can get a little crowded, but even if you can't park directly in front of the building, there's plenty of parking nearby. The location is great too, just off Gilead Rd, near Starbucks, Walgreens, etc. I've been very happy here. There are just a few machines that aren't available that I wish they had. But like I said, they are regularly updating and swapping out equipment, so maybe I just need to inquire about what I'm interested in.

It's not a super large gym, perhaps like some others in the area. However, it is a really good size and you never really have to wait for machines or equipment. It seems that they try to keep the equipment up-to-date and every now and then you will see some new/updated equipment on the floor for use. It's also not crowded (usually the regular 1-3 people are there), at least during the super early morning time, when I go. If you go later in the morning, there are a lot more people there and it can become a little crowded. Either way, it's always your average, typical gym folks there that are considerate of others, never any grunters or ones that make you feel out of place when working out. This Anytime Fitness is located in a shopping center with a variety of establishments such as Walgreens, Starbucks, FedEx, and many other eateries and stores. So it is a great location with plenty of parking and things around which may be needed before or after a workout. The owner, manager and trainers are very nice and helpful when needed. If you live in the area, definitely try out this Anytime Fitness for your workouts.
