On March 13, 2019, I emailed tax documents to Jason, the owner of Capital Tax, at his request. He…read morefinally called me on March 25 and told me how much my refund would be. He also sold me "audit insurance" for $55, but said he was only going to charge me $5, and he would pay the $50. He was VERY insistent on it. Then he said he would email me a copy of my completed taxes shortly. That's the last I ever heard from him. I have sent 2 emails and 6 texts without any response by him. I have also called him 8 times, leaving a message twice. The other times the recording says his "voice mailbox is full". I noticed a couple of weeks later that my refund had been electronically deposited in my bank account, but it was $78 lighter than it should have been. Upon closer inspection, I saw that my refund did not come from the IRS, but from a bank which does what's called Refund Anticipation Loans. I did not sign up for this, and did not authorize Jason to do this. The topic wasn't even discussed during our phone conversation on March 25, so this is outright fraud. As another reviewer has mentioned, Jason isn't even in Texas anymore. He fled to Colorado, where he has apparently set up shop again. Yes, I said "he fled". Do an arrest or inmate search in Texas for Travis and Williamson Counties. From what I've found already, this guy is a career criminal. Over the last 15 years, has been in trouble multiple times for drug possession, DUI, assault, fleeing jurisdiction, and domestic violence. With that kind of record, I can't understand how the government gave him a license to operate a business where he has access to people's financial information. Wish I would have known this info sooner. I never would have gone to him to do my taxes.

I sent my tax info to Jason on 3/20 for myself and my son. I have talked to him twice after he got…read moremy $500. I've called approximately 50 times, texted and emails. Says he'll call back and doesn't. Says my refund will be done today...nope. Finally got my refund check may 15. My son still hasn't got his. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. He doesn't even live in Texas anymore, he's in Colorado. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.
