I contracted this driving school for a very specific service: transportation to the MVA and use of their vehicle for my scheduled road test. I paid in advance and took the day off from work for this appointment. Instead of taking me directly to the MVA, this dude, the owner of this school, I think his name is Vitani, forced me to drive an unnecessary and exhausting route, deviating from the agreed purpose. Without any valid operational reason, he unilaterally decided I was "not ready" to the test like it was his business, and forced me to return to the school -- a decision that is solely the MVA examiner's responsibility, not his. This douchebag grandiosely named his so-called "driving school" Cyrus Driving School -- as if he were some legendary Persian emperor -- but in reality, he runs it like a petty, insecure man desperately overcompensating for his own shortcomings. Maybe in his fantasies, he is some mythical figure from The Thousand and One Nights. The reality? A tiny driving school in suburban Maryland run by a man clinging to a borrowed sense of greatness because he has none of his own. It's textbook inferiority complex -- petty tyranny dressed up with a grandiose title. And the sad part is, he probably think it works. The moment he saw me, something about me clearly rattled his ego. Instead of simply delivering the service I paid for (transportation to the MVA for my road test) he decided to "teach me a lesson." He is just a resentful, small-minded man who likely carries unresolved issues with women -- whether from his mother or some crush he never got over from elementary school. He acts with the traits of a misogynistic sociopath, using his "position" to feed his ego at the expense of others. He made me drive an absurd, unnecessary route with pointless maneuvers that had nothing to do with getting to the test, just to assert control and feed whatever personal grudge he had imagined. MISTER VATANI: The unsung hero of the asphalt, who according to his own bio wakes up every morning "inspired by the satisfaction of helping and teaching people." Such a moving statement you almost want to print it out and hang it on the wall... until you see him in action. Because if he truly has a "passion for educating," he hides it with the same dedication he hides empathy. His idea of "helping" seems more like that of a frustrated referee inventing fouls to feel important, rather than an instructor who guides with patience. His so-called vocation is less about teaching and more about humiliating: absurd driving routes, out-of-line comments, and that constant air that the student is there to feed his ego, not to learn. And that gem, "growing my business every day"... of course. Nothing fuels business growth more than vulnerable customers who can be subjected to micro-abuses and theatrical scoldings. He preaches professionalism with the same credibility as a chain-smoker preaching healthy living: chalk in hand, board wiped clean... but with the trash neatly swept under the rug. His public portrait is that of a noble mentor; the reality is a man who confuses authority with abuse and teaching with contempt. If his definition of "helping" is what he practices in his school, then the dictionary he's using must be printed backwards. He criticized safe, careful driving in dense morning traffic, twisting it into a narrative that I was "too slow" or "unfit," while ignoring the fact that the road was full, the conditions required caution, and nothing I did was unsafe. When he couldn't provoke fear, submission, or a mistake from me, he escalated: he flatly refused to take me to my test, deliberately interfering in my licensing process -- something that was absolutely none of his business. This was not only a breach of the contracted service, but also an abuse of authority. His role was to provide the service I paid for, not to impose personal judgments that directly obstructed my licensing process and making me lose my appointment that day. To make matters worse, the tone and comments during this interaction were hostile and unprofessional, clearly driven by personal bias rather than any technical assessment. Then came the most manipulative part: Back at the "school" they delayed my refund process on purpose, forcing me to remain in that office for far longer than necessary, trapped listening to their derogatory, condescending remarks, while his recepcionist sat there acting like his cheerleader. A woman without ambition or self-respect, doing a job better suited for a sophomore on summer break than someone her age. The dynamic between them was pitiful -- two people running a lousy business but behaving as if they were gatekeepers of some grand institution. It's pathetic for a woman to join forces with a poor excuse of a man to humiliate another woman. Her little comment, "If he says you can't drive, then that's how it is," was delivered like a blind follower in a cult, like a fan of a small town rockstar. read more

I enrolled my son into this driver's ed this past summer. I watched him do the Zoom classes with Ruben. The classes were conducted in a professional manner. I assumed that behind-the-wheel practice would be the same. The instructor Mohsen was aggressive, dismissive, and unprofessional towards my son. He expected my son to have already experience which is ridiculous. He was also on the phone while in the car with a teenager who had never driven before. I paid over $400 for him to be in this program and this individual does not want to teach. That is laughable. I did not report this behavior to the manager because if he thought it was appropriate to hire this man then he is probably unprofessional as well. New drivers do not need to be a car with this man. They will not learn anything. They will be treated poorly and possibly not want to drive if they are in a car with him. I have spoken to other parents in the Rockville/Bethesda area and they stated their children and peers have had similar experiences. I will make sure that they post their experiences on Google and Yelp. I do plan on submitting a driver complaint with the MVA over this. Also, he speaks terrible English. English speakers will not be able to understand anything says. New drivers need to be able to understand what he is saying. If my son has to take driving lessons then he needs to be forced to take English lessons. I rather him be fired than work with anyone though. read more

Cyrus driving school is one of the best driving school out there to help you learn driving. Staff is very professional, courteous and helpful. Class room setup for learn to drive is outstanding and you are able to learn the class at your pace. If you are in rush to finish your 36 hours of in-class training, you can finish it as soon as you can. It has flexible hours and staff is always helpful and work around your schedule. The instructor was a great teacher and for the 14 hours of behind the wheel training, he is an awesome teacher to learn from. Staff is helpful to guide you if you need guidance with that. Professional, punctual, and accommodating, my instructor and owner of Cyrus, Mr. Hassan, was extremely helpful in teaching me how to improve on my driving abilities. My instructor allowed me to work exactly on my weaknesses, not wasting my time with the things I already knew and showed skill in. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Mohsen as my instructor for the entirety of my behind the wheel experience. Even from the very beginning he was nice and welcoming, and would give me tips on things I would need to improve on and praise me on the stuff I would do well. Although it is not a super well known driving school, it definitely deserves to be. It is cheaper than many other Driver's Ed courses, such as Greg's or iDriveSmart. A Driver's Ed course does not need to be unneccesarily expensive - in the end, they all teach the same content. The teachers at Driver's Ed are kind and patient, and the in car lessons were comfortable. They are just as knowledgeable about what the MVA tests on, and will help you based on what they feel are your personal strengths and weaknesses. Great service! I called them on a Monday and had my license by Friday. The instructors Mr. Namvar was extremely flexible, working around my schedule. They are good teachers and know all the MVA rules on everything involved, so you can ask them all your questions regarding document requirements, and what the MVA looks for specifically on the driving test. I passed my driving test by renting a Cyrus Driving School vehicle. The customer service was absolutely excellent. Due to an error on my part, I scheduled the wrong time of day to rent the car for my driving test. Thankfully, the Instructor had compassion on me and changed some things around to let me to use the rental on the properly scheduled time. He offered me some advice and I finally passed the test. I placed my teenage son in this school. He enjoyed the zoom portion of the driver education program. However, the in-car instructor could have been more professional. My son stated that he was on the phone on multiple occasions. This is incredibly unprofessional and dangerous behavior. I believe his instructor's name was Moshen. He was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I'm upset that my son had to sit in a car with an uneducated, rude individual. read more
