(The resulting clacking sound could indicate engine damage.) They tried to blame it on my engine burning too much oil but this has never been the case with my former garage. The person I spoke with was condescending, not believing and not at all interested in the possibility that I could have a valid opinion. Won't go back. I said "mixed proficiency" because I'd gone to them once in the past and it was fine - that wasn't an oil change, however. I'm very glad I was able to go back to my former garage and that I have that experience for comparison. I would say that they are on the defensive about their work, also that they have a greedy mentality, charging for "loaner" cars. Customer value is number 1 and along with that, valuing what your customer has to say about their experience.

The specific check I requested was simply for someone to drive my car up the street, and let me know the origin of the noise it was making. *NO FURTHER WORK WAS AUTHORUZED.* I ended up being charged for both the check, and light replacements that I hadn't authorized, which totaled out to almost 200 dollars. This is behavior I'd expect from a shop being run out of someone's garage, and not an established shop where I've brought my car for service on multiple occasions. I am now almost 200 dollars further away from being able to pay for the repairs, and this might clinch my decision to get rid of my car, which is absolutely disastrous for my life. I went there first mostly because it was convenient to my home and had flexibility to drop off cars and still go to work, etc. Over time, I realized that I would travel to them even if they were not that convenient. I can always count on them being honest, trustworthy, competent, and fair. I like that I can say, "let me know if you think I need anything else" and sometimes I have requested service only to have them say, "no, you don't really need that yet." After looking at their shop from the inside and seeing them in action I decided to give them a shot. Right away, they noticed that I had work done to the car and talked about how that paint wasn't right. It looked exactly the same to me, but they pointed a few things out. That expertise was enough to earn them my business. Once the car was done, I took my car to Allentown a day or two later and a reflector fell of the car. I contacted the shop and they said it couldn't have been from them, but I really thought it was. They gave me a deal on the new part and put it in for me though. It was only a few bucks, but I think they still should have eaten the cost. I'm like 90% sure it was their fault, so I'm not too mad. It was their fault though...

Foster said that they had to replace one door and handle but they could fix the second door. The other shop I went to for a quote said both doors needed to be replaced Well, both doors look perfect - the one that was repaired and the one that was replaced so Foster was right. While we were waiting for the tow, my husband found Hendricks listed nearby and called to see if they could help. They didn't have the part in stock (we have a 2006 VW) but in the time it took to tow us there they had gone out and gotten the part and were ready for us. They let us bring our dog into the waiting room, told us where we could get a rental if needed, stayed open late (on a Friday!) so we didn't have to, and didn't overcharge us. I'd recommend this business based on their expertise and fair pricing, and HIGHLY recommend based on their above-and-beyond service.
